I purchased the Giraffe Tools Retractable Garden Hose Reel (1/2 Inch x 130 ft, Super Heavy Duty), and after several months of heavy use, I can confidently say this is a premium yard tool that is worth the investment. The most impressive aspect is the quality of the hose itself. The 1/2 inch diameter provides excellent water pressure and flow for everything from washing the car to deep watering garden beds, and the material feels incredibly durable and robust—it definitely lives up to the "Super Heavy Duty" claim. I bought this in May 2022. It is an okay product. Over time the retraction component will wear down (which I am highly disappointed in how quickly). In my circumstance, it won't retract the last 10' or so feet. I am also noticing there is a small drip starting to happen internally to the box. It is extremely difficult and cumbersome to take the box apart to address any issue inside the box. Frankly, its not worth the hassle to take it apart and fix it, I did that once and won't do that again. Its a decent product for the price, but it just won't stand up over time. Good things about the product: - Hose quality, no rips, tears, etc. (would love a model with a flexzilla type hose) - Swivel feature (it could swivel better with different components, but does the job for the price) - Fairly compact (I have mine mounted inside my garage on the wall) - 2 year warranty Bad things about the product: - Retractable feature (it is very fast until it gets towards the end and then it slows down, or won't finish retracting the full length - Not owner friendly to work on, any internal components are not meant to be accessed easily - Internal hose connection is dripping - Long-term durability (issued started arising about 1 year of ownership) -

Update: Giraffe Tools saw my review and sent me a full refund on the replacement hose I purchased, without even being asked! Fantastic customer service on a product that is so much easier to use than the manual hose reels I've had in the past! Kudos to Grace at Giraffe Tools for making me a happy customer! Original post: I loved the convenience of this hose so much that I bought two more for my two other outdoor spigots. However, the hose in this one (the 1st one I bought three years ago) has now begun to fail. Three separate places are bulging and will soon rupture (see photos). And yes, I turned the water off and relieved the pressure each and every time I was finished using it. I also stored it indoors during the winter temperatures. Our water pressure is not overly high. On the positive side, the retraction mechanism still works perfectly.

This is a high quality hose reel. It is fully assembled and only requires installing the mounting bracket on a wall or a post. The bracket is too wide for a 4x4 so a 6x6 is a better choice. A template is provided and the instructions are clear and in a font size large enough to clearly read. It is a great addition to our patio.

Update: Changing my review from 1 to 5 stars. The manufacturer replaced the unit without a hassle and should be here in a few days. Sometimes products don't work the way they were intended too. I'm glad the company recognized that and sent a replacement. I've had this up on my wall for approximately 5 months. Initially, it worked great. The function is awesome and it reels well, but the hose quality is lacking. Maybe I got unlucky? The hose split and is now bulging out. Its only a matter of time before it bursts. Mild-moderate use over a dirt yard.

Hello, we purchased this hose reel specifically because it was one of the only products we could find that reached over 150ft. The item was a bit larger than expected, but it seemed sturdy and well built. Mounting the hose reel was straight forward, although if not mounting directly to a wall, ensure you use a 4x6 and not a 4x4. The mounting holes on the mount are too far apart for a 4x4. Unfortunately, after less than 2 months the item no longer reels in so it has been rendered useless. I estimate those hose was only extended and retracted less than 20 times. I am past the return window and stick with a $200+ item that does not function. Update: moved from 1 star to 4. Seller reached out to me based on this review and made it right. They stand behind their product unlike many Amazon sellers. I will give them another chance.
