While this may be one of the less expensive brands out there (when on sale), it is a pretty good value option for a retractable garden hose. I bought 2 of these a couple of years ago on Prime day I think (slightly different options -- hose length and diameter) for the front and back yard. I wanted to replace the manual wind garden hose boxes since my wife had trouble retracting hoses manually. These were on sale at Amazon so I thought I would try it. Installation was pretty easy. Works great! While the build quality may not be AAA++, I am sure some compromises had to be made on the hose (to make sure it is flexible enough to retract well enough), cost effectiveness, and overall weight. The uploaded photo is of an issue I had with the garden hose after 22 to 23 months. I contacted the company's after sale support and they sent us a brand new replacement of the total unit -- I guess just the hose isn't serviceable. The unit was even easier to install since I am using the same brackets. I am sure some will say the hose should have lasted longer, but you know what, I use the garden hose very frequently. Also, we are in California where it gets pretty hot, and it is a good price on sale. They stood behind their product so I can't complain and that is why I am writing this review. Even 22 to 23 months in on a 24 month warranty, they sent me a full replacement and I received it within a week after I submitted the warranty claim. Just FYI. the other retractable hose I got from them has no issues -- well, maybe the nozzle needs to be replaced, but those are cheap (heh heh) any I always replace those after a few years anyways. I am happy and fully satisfied with my purchase. :)

Why didn't I get one of these sooner..So far so good, not sure what people are doing to have issues, maybe not following directions on retracting or letting the hose go and not holding on while it retracts, mount it securely, turn off water and un pressurize hose and WALK the hose back in, no issues, I like that it come off the mount easy for winter time, the hose is big enough to supply my small pressure washer and no more reeling or cranking a hose! I love it so far, I'm sure in a few years of light duty it will need to be replaced, but the price is good and quality seems to be good so far, I think bad reviews are people being too rough or retracting full of water. Anything will break if you act like a gorilla using it.

My 3 year old 1/2 inch retracting machine broke so I got this 5/8 hose retractor. Much sturdier and should handle the workout our hose gets from the 8 year old and 9 year old.

So considering the price, which is double what I paid for a Stanley that lasted 8 years, I was expecting better. So first thing that went wrong was the internal leak. I know they say don’t take things apart but my wife needed the hose and times as holiday. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the most high stress part of the entire thing was a plastic push fitting with o rings held together with another piece of thin plastic. I fixed that with metal wire and moved on. Decided warranty wasn’t worth it since my fix was better. Second thing that went wrong was the hose split near the end of the hose. Other than the fact that this hose reel is literally 10 months old at the time of this review and shouldn’t be splitting at all, it wasn’t a big deal and I went to the store and bought a repair kit for the 5/8” hose I paid for. Imagine my surprise once again to find that though the hose appears as a 5/8” on the outside, it is in fact 1/2”. Pure garbage.

The product is amazing works great and the hose retracts real smooth. The swivel feature works excellent. It was easy to install. The only thing that I don't agree on it the 5/8 side hose that comes with it. They insert a stainless steel spring inside the hose that makes the water pressure get reduced. They should give you a 3/4 hose like they sell. With that the water pressure won't decrease that much. But over all great product.
