  • Been using over a year and still love
We have been using this for over a year now and love it! Tho we did swap the plastic zip ties to metal ones and they definitely hold up better. And the shade on top fell apart quickly. We do recommend putting supports in the run for winter snow load or the roof will cave in we did this by taking 2x4s across the whole length of the top and some going straight to the ground to hold it up . Our neighbors caved in so we put supports in ours before winter and have had no issues. We do clear snow off as needed. I do recommend this run for anyone who has chickens. We love it And it’s very spacious. ... show more

  • Great pen
I was iffy about this pen just because there was mixed reviews and the price just seemed too good to be true. However i have had this pen up since April and it has worked amazing and it was very easy to put together! The only thing i would recommend is getting different zip ties.

  • For anyone wanting to use this coop, put in the work to make it work!
I am very pleased with this coop! I have seven chickens and wanted them to be able to run around and have enough room. We have every type of predator you could imagine between the small critters (squirrels, foxes, skunk) and bigger ones (bob vats, mountain lions, bears) and i wanted an affordable pen but have it highly protected. I wanted to share with others what I did to make this predator resistant because yes, its true if you just assemble it and leave it without proper reinforcement, something could get it. This is what I did to set up my coop: 1) dug 1-2 feet deep where the coop was going to be placed. This leveled it out but was necessary I felt and that people rarely do because it is so much extra work, but you have to put the work in to protect your animals, those who complain about things getting to their animals dont see it was their own negligence that 98% of the time could have been avoided. I did set up the base frame also here to see the exact angle i needed it to face. You want the pen in the right area for sun and shade. 2) put down 6ft chicken wire in the ditch, covered it up with dirt leaving the edges. Here is where you establish a strong base. I mainly did this because in the past we had an issue with ground squirrels digging under and stealing our eggs, but this also reinforces the entire pen so if something like a bear tries to lift it up, it will be weighted down by the base. 3) this step i set up the actual chicken house before i set the pen up, because it wont fit through the door after the pen is assembled. 4)set up pen as instructions say. These instructions are easy to follow but the netting was what i found to be most tedious. You make want to buy extra hardware cloth to reinforce it all. I purchased stronger zip ties then what it came with because i wanted to make sure if something was pulling at the net it couldnt just bust the zip ties off. BE WARNED THE ZIP TIES IT COMES WOTH BREAK SUPER EASY! 5)set up the netting and zip tie everywhere. You cant make it too secure. I took extra care wrapping the wire around the pole to make it tight because i know the netting will start sagging over time. this is when i attached the base chicken wire to the bas polls, and used the predator skirt technique with the wire around the outside 6) wire every seam of netting, Cover edges and fill Coop with dirt. Have extra security with solar alarms and extra netting around the door for any brave critters during the day. The only thing i wish i could change about this coop is I wish the height of the door was taller, i have to bend down to go in and out. Hope this helps anyone considering this! ... show more

  • great value for the money
This is easy to assemble if you follow the directions. But it is a 2-3 person job. I would replace ALL of the cable ties for the black cable ties. The white ones are very thin and brittle. The black ones hold better. I also like the tent shape. This is much easier for the rain NOT to puddle on the tarps included. ... show more

  • BEWARE
Pattern Name: Spire Size: 157.0"L x 157.0"W x 77.0"H
Absolute discust with this entire process. Was supposed to be in stalled today between 11-3 and my son was supposed to be there. Tech sent me a text message when I was already 1/2 hour away at work and said he would be there at 9:55 am. I had to rush out of work drive home to meet tech. Tech had an attitude saying he never installed one before and did not know if 1 person could do it. I had to leave and get back to work when frame was up an he was beginning to put chicken wire on. I was back at work for 5 minutes and he texted me that there was not enough chicken wire so he left. My son came home and called me and said there was a roll still on the ground and the tech was gone. I then got an email stating a new installation date of 11/7 between -11. Due to a hawk killing some of my chickens it was imperative that this project got completed today!!!!! I do not want another tech and I refuse to pay for anything that was done today. Your product is also subpar for the little that is put together already, flimsy canope which will no doubt cave in and possible allow animals to enter. This entire process has caused me nothing but stress when I thought I ordered a decent product and someone competent to install it. ... show more

  • *** My Muscovy Ducks Love it!** Not predator proof but Great large daytime watch pen !!!
My disabled muscovy ducks love this pen!!! Great service from amazon. Had a tech come & assembled it, took around 3 hours. Not predator proof for nighttime, you would need to make your own adjustments. For little ducklings, the door sides do have a large gap that you would need to block in case they escape. The door latch is not predator proof & little awkward. The chicken wire is good quality, but a determined racoon/rat could easy chew through it. Great daytime pen as long as you can watch them & bring them in before sunset. The roofing material is very thin, may rip with time. Live in hot South Florida, so looks like it can take the rain, humidity & beating sun for a good few years. Overall this is Just what I was looking for, **Very Pleased** my Happy Duckies are getting their playtime & fresh air !!! :):):) ... show more

  • Good bang for buck
Pain to put together cause of the 500 zip ties… but chickens are happy, and wife is happy. Can’t rest out a price on that…

  • Easy set up, some problems
Here's the straight scoop on the coop! The worst part was trying to figure out what was happening with delivery. They didn't say it came in three boxes (read three separate shipments). The first two boxes arrived on separate days via Fedex Ground. Then the third box arrived a few days later via UPS. That was the box with the instructions. I contacted the company through Amazon, they never said it was 3 boxes. The assembly was easy enough. One serious problem with set up is the risk of getting cut in the process. The bars link together via pins that you push in to slide into the other bars. When you physically press the pins inside the bar to fit it into the other bar, your fingers come into contact with the burrs left on the metal from machining, and you get cut. Having cut my thumb, I put on a band aid and some leather gloves to finish the project. All the parts were there. The zip ties were not strong enough for attaching the netting. We would try to use one, pull tight on it and it would snap. I would recommend you buy your own studier zip ties for this project and buy a lot of them. The finished product is good when assembled/finished. It is a little lightweight if you ever get strong gusts of wind where you live, so we recommend you use ground anchors that twist into the ground when you finish. With the tarps on the top, your cage could get blown around a bit. In all, it's a fast way to get a good cage up. Just be aware of those sharp burrs. ... show more
