For starters, let's get it out of the way that there's no such thing as a no-kink water hose. Some resist better than others, but they all kink somewhere, somehow, eventually. I had high hopes when I saw this one though, it reminded me of the sturdy, heavy, dense garden hose that Goodyear used to make back in the day. Short of raiding an airport flightline I don't think I'll ever find one of those again! Back to the hose at hand though. While this is a nice hose and looks to be made well with quality materials, I would not consider it heavy duty. This is the right kind of hose to have for when you just need to rinse off your boots and don't want to strugglebus the 75-foot, triple-woven, perpetually-waterlogged-dripping-on-your-socks, kinked in 3 places NeverKink hose out of the back of the garage. It coils and uncoils easily, and the light weight hose material prevents it from tangling itself up in the process. It also handles cold temperatures well, staying pliable even when well below zero. All that said though, this hose is still about the same price as an equivalent spec hose by Flexzilla or NeverKink. Those choices will probably be a bit heavier and unwieldy, but the Flexzilla in particular feels more durable in my opinion, and stays just as flexible in the cold. Unless weight is a primary concern, or there's a good sale going on, I would probably first consider other options for a general use hose. ... show more

This hose is a super basic, bare bones, zero extras. It’s pretty much a standard long tube with male threads at each end. There is no reinforcement. Little flexibility. The tube is pretty rigid and gets kinked with any sharp turn. It didn’t have any leaks at the ends, so that was good. I don’t expect this to last beyond a summer season in the heat but will edit my review if I find that not to be the case. ... show more

I work construction so I know what a heavy duty kink resistant hose should look and feel like and this isn't it. But that being said, those hoses are quite expensive. So this in my opinion, it's not a bad value for the money. I've bought garden hoses from our local stores for the same price that weathered and got stiff and cracked after just 2 years. This hose doesn't feel like the kind of material that's going to do that so at the end of the day I feel like this was a good value even though it's not exactly as advertised. ... show more

    • Drinking water safe is getting harder to find!!

It makes me a bit nervous when opening a hose that it already has kink dents. Most likely it will relax after a few days of warmth but that is why I didn't give this hose a five from the start - it will have to earn it. This hose has three layers - so it should be strong and last a long time.. it can also handle a wider range of temperatures than many other hoses which is also great... Being drinking water safe is the biggest factor in deciding to order this hose because I so often drink out the hose, as do the kids, when we are out working. Nothing is worse than a mouthful of ugh so we are careful to use drinking water safe where it is likely that we will be taking a swig. It is also nice to have drinking safe hoses to water our farm critters cause I am sure they don't like the nasty taste either and I am sure it isn't good for them either. This is a nice hose... nice ends and connector.. feels nice and flexible. Overall a good purchase and it is priced below a lot of other hoses this size. We will see how it does with kinking and I will update after we use it for a bit. ... show more
