I don't know why this would be warm, so I gave it 5 stars for that. This is my husband's go-to car wash soap. And boy, is he ever picky about his cars! That's fine with me, because now I don't have to wash them, because obviously I'm doing it wrong. I'll have the hose on too strong and wear away a few molecules of paint or something. I use a lot of Griot's garage products and like them. So when I found myself running low on Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash I decided to buy this Griots's Garage Car Wash. I am attaching a photo of the bottle I received in this order next to the ruler - the 16 oz bottle is 6 inches tall. Griot's Garage Car Wash generated good suds and worked well. However, it did not work any better than Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash or several other car wash concentrates I used in the past. I did not spend any less time on washing, I still needed to clay Griot's Garage Cleaning Clay my car to remove small imperfections. The main difference which may matter to someone that Griot's Garage is totally orderless, where as other car washes I used have a scent. On the negative side Griot's Garage Car Wash is rather pricey. At the price of $8.99 this works out to 56 cents per oz. Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash that I bought at a local retailer was $4.43 for 72 oz., 10 cents per oz.     • Good soap. but NOT for black cars!!

I have a black car that I'm very VERY meticulous about. I use wool wash mitts, two bucket method, grit guards, filtered rinse water etc. I wash the car when the surface is cool and in the shade (oftentimes after the sun has gone down). Despite every possible step, and thorough rinsing, it leaves severe water spots that you have to address afterwards. To it's credit, It cleans great, has excellent lubricity, but it doesn't rinse well on black cars. I'm not a professional detailer, just a regular joe who's been detailing his own car on a "professional level" for many years. I was under the impression that Griot's was the best car wash soap for every vehicle but not so for black cars, IMO. Out of fairness, I will say that it works beautiful on the lighter colored cars with no spots visible (for the simple fact that lighter colored cars car hide defects and other surface imperfections better). It took me a while to finally find a solution. For those with black cars, I'm sure this all makes sense. You have to take a lot of steps to care for the paint including washing, drying and waxing or coating. It really is a labor of love. So recently, my wife's black car needed washing and I tried a different car wash. No other reason than finally deciding to see if I could finally wash and dry the vehicle without water spots. The soap was much cheaper and it worked fantastic. Previously, I had been using the other soap for the wheels/wheel wells, and using Griot's strictly for the paint. I'm not here to advertise for another company so I'll just say to try other car wash soaps until you find one that rinses clean AND doesn't leave spots on black vehicles. Just so it's clear, I'm not bashing Griot's products. I have purchased their cash wash soap and a lot of their car detailing products and they worked great. I will continue to use their other products and car wash soap on my lighter colored vehicles. It's just probably not the best car wash soap for black vehicles. ... show more

This is an excellent car wash soap, it safely removes dirt without damaging the paint, has a great foaming action and smells great. I have to deduct one star because mine arrived with the top broken. The container is sealed under the top at the factory so there was no leakage. The cap design makes this product very easy to use, measure out and eliminates some risk of spilling product. I have used this product for years. It has always worked well. I would not use any other of car wash. While it is slightly more costly from Amazon than from Griots garage, it is much cheaper than after you have paid the Griots shipping charges. It is a great savings for Prime members.

    • Solid car soap, didn't clear the carnuba wax off the paint as I've had several grocery store car wash soaps brands do.

Has worked as good as expected and not pulled the existing wax off the car in a couple washes. Has a great measuring process by turning upside down pull up on the cap and allows you to measure 1 oz per buck of water. One thing to note in measuring is squeeze and then release as the air bubble needs to clear to get an accurate measure of soap. Only soap I’ll use. Very slippery, yet effective. I dilute it in a cheap foamer for pre-wash, then hand wash with the 2 bucket method. Doesn’t strip quality coatings/sealants (F11 not included). I used to use too much, and now use about half of what I once did and still have great suds.

I've been using various Griot's Garage products for many years now and this is the car wash I prefer. I just want to wash the car gently and preserve the wax. I don't want wax in the wash to gunk up things like plastic trim. This is my go-to car wash.
