Very effective. My SUV's battery was dead, and it started up on the first try. The cable on the clamps is very thick and good quality, it can handle a high current. I accidentally dropped it on the road, and it rolled quite a distance without any damage. It's very durable. Compared to those products costing over a hundred dollars, it’s just as good. It seems to be too small and light to actually start my Honda Odyssey with a dead battery. So, I tested it by disconnecting the battery and it started the van very well. Smaller, lighter and cheaper than a good set of jumper cables.

This FOWAWU brand automotive battery jumpstarter also serves as a 26800 mah power pack. It claims to provide 7,000 peak jump starting power for a 12 volt battery system with up to 60 C discharge rate. I researched the brand name before ordering this. And what I found in that search is that a lot of the components that are used in this particular model are identical (from the same factories) to those used in other more well known brands, which I'm not a liberty to discuss, but just know, I very quickly ordered it when I found that out. It is basically to the best of my knowledge. A less expensive, less well-known branded unit that does the same thing as those others, some might pay one hundred and fifty dollars for. And obviously there are some differences as this is not a generic knockoff, rather it is just a new and different brand name product of a similar caliber that uses some of the same parts in its construction. It also features some newer technology that in the description they describe as such: "A battery is composed of multiple sets of cells, and if one cell has insufficient power, it can cause the battery current to be too low and over discharged, making it unusable. FOWAWU lithium battery jump starter can withstand a 1.2-meter drop" this jumper pack purchase includes a portable jumper pack, heavy-duty battery clamps, USB-C charging cable, Storage case, and a user manual. I will say it was lighter than I expected, as I own several different brands and versions of these and to my mind, they are usually heavier. All in all for the most part, these function as advertised. And in my opinion, the price here is well worth it. Not to mention when you're on the side of the road or late for work, having one of these get your car started is priceless, really, so it's always good to have one. And this is a relatively inexpensive option.

Reading through other reviews of this product left me wondering if I had received either a defective unit or if I had received something completely different from other reviewers. tl;dr version: this jump start product failed to meet any expectations. At all. Source: personal testing and comparison to another "hot shot" jump start device I own. I'll start with the box still closed. You'll note from the pictures that there is no mention of capacity or capability listed on the box. And it's light. Too light. My other hot shot device weighs 4.5 lbs and is rated to jump start up to a 6-liter diesel engine. This one is less than a pound. Open the box and it seems to be pretty inclusive. Charging USB cable, detachable battery clips, manual, and carry/protection bag. The unit was not fully charged upon arrival, so I plugged it in until it reported that it was at 100%. It should be noted here that the manual also omits any mention of capacity or capability and refers users seeking aid to an Outlook.com email address. Our first test of its capabilities was pretty simple. Charge my phone. For reference, my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with a 5000 mAh battery. Starting percentages: Phone - 71% Hot Shot - 100% 28 minutes later Ending percentages: Phone - 85% (I have battery saver turned on) Hot Shot - 83% That's a lot of drain just to charge a phone. 14% gain for the phone vs 17% loss for the Fowawu. Our next test was to (attempt to) jump start an ATV. Specifically, a Polaris Outlaw 110. At the beginning of warmer weather, I anticipate the batteries on the ATV's are drained and tired. First step is to hook them up to a battery charger until they read 100%, start the engine and let it run/take a short jaunt in the woods. One of the ATV's was not cooperating/wouldn't start, so I thought this to be a grand opportunity to test this hot shot as my attempts to start this engine had re-drained the battery. Starting percentages: ATV - <30% Hot Shot - 83% (insert failed attempts to start engine) There is obviously an issue beyond the hot shot that is causing the Polaris not to start. My only comment for this section is that while connected to the Fowawu device the starting motor was slightly and languidly energized. I hooked up my previously purchased hot shot and the starter motor was fully and energetically engaged. Ending percentages: ATV - <20% Hot Shot - 61% Let us turn to the {airquotes} flashlight {airquotes}. All I can muster up is to say that it's marginally better than nothing. Very dim (with the battery at 83%), and weird color temperature. You can rightfully point out that I did not test this device on an actual automobile, and you'd be quite right to do so. All I can say is that I was so disappointed in its performance I couldn't really muster up the effort to continue further with testing. Now I need a nap. Or a beer. Appearance: 10/10 Promise: 10/10 Construction: 8/10 Performance: 1/10 Aggregation Factor: 12/10
