The Flame King 40LB Propane Tank is the perfect solution for your larger or extended supply of propane. Best for residential and small commercial applications - residential heating, cooking appliances, backup power for generators, RVs, and outdoor grilling. This can be used horizontally and vertically, and can also be transported in both positions. It has built-in wheels for ease of transport and an EZ-HANDLE collar design, a built-in formed handle with no sharp edges. Propane Tank is a pre-purged vacuum ready for the filling of propane avoiding the cost and headache of purging your new tank. It has a POL valve assembly and a built-in accurate gauge so you will never run out of propane! It is built from high-grade welded steel and powder-coated for rust prevention. For your safety, this tank is X-ray and Hydrostatic tested. You can be sure to transport safely both in the US and CA as it is DOT and Transport Canada certified.

I received this tank yesterday, it arrived in perfect condition and was pretty easy to load and unload in the back of my Excursion. I do like the wheels which make moving around very easy. I and took it up to the local Tractor Supply to fill it. They filled a over halfway and thought it was full so I'll probably try a different place next time. Nice tank. It will need to be purged before use but that should be no problem for your gas supplier. Holds approximately 9 gallons LP. One of my wheels didn't turn well but worked fine once it was full.

The major selling point for this is that the 85 year old woman who wanted it can roll it from her shed up to her house when she needs to fire up her propane heater. That's why we bought it. But the ability to read and use it while vertical or horizontal is nice. It's certainly well built and durable. It did come with an older manufacturing date so be warned that you'll probably need to get it re-certified at some point. The downside is that this is extremely expensive. We purchased it for someone who's older and disabled, but if you're able bodied, then you should just be able to handle a regular 50lb tank yourself. ... show more

Tank is nice,easy to maneuver. Only problem is the Guage is inaccurate and can't be trusted. Which can be a major problem when boon-docked in cold weather. Fix the guage people. Considering the price tag on these tanks, everything should work with precision.
