I've been looking for a particular shade of neon yellow, near impossible to find. This box had three shades so one had to be close right? One was perfect! The colors are vibrant, thread is a nice weight, each spool is individually wrapped, box is sturdy and closes tight. Very happy with my purchase.

I use Maderia as a rule, but before I got my Melco a couple of yrs ago, I used this brand fairly regularly. I can't really get to any stores where I live, so it's convenient. It is a bit on the thin side, and doesn't quite pass the break test, but it has worked for me many times (overall for the past 4/5 yrs or so). I try to only use it on occasion for the great variety of colors they have, over other brands- and of course, they are way less expensive. Having said that, in my opinion, these are best suited for smaller home machines. A true commercial machine like mine, deserves a great poly thread, and the force of my machine is too great for these tiny spool (don't worry, there's a lot on the spool surprisingly), but I was able to rig up a solution that works so I don't have that problem anymore. If I used these predominantly, I would be doing my maintenance much more frequently, and you should too. This thread will produce some lint (but again, not bad for what it is). I would do a swatch test if what you're doing will ever need to be washed, to be sure it doesn't bleed, but I personally haven't had any complaints from the customers who've ordered custom quilts/baby shower gifts from me. All of their colors are really pretty and there is almost any color you can imagine. Works great for home machines - even the faster ones (my first two were Janome and Elna which are basically the same machine with a different label). I used these for those most often.

It seems like the thread is fine. We've done a few embroidery projects with it now and no problems with the thread. But the spool the thread is on is not working out well. The thread tends to pop off the top of the spool if you aren't careful handling, and then you have to carefully unwind and rewind A LOT of thread to get it right. I had to cut off a large amount on one spool. Also, the opening at the bottom, where the spool rests on the machine spindle, is too large. Maybe that is more for professional machines...I don't know, but the opening is about 1/2 inch, whereas spools from other companies are 1/4 inch. So without an adapter, this spool tends to wobble all over the place.
