  • Lightening fast kettle with exact variable temperature control! Lightening fast kettle with exact variable temperature control!
Color: Matte Black Size: Corvo EKG
I purchased this kettle for heating water for tea as I find the microwave to be more time consuming for brewing tea. There are a few things I like about this kettle: - Aesthetics: the overall design and the matte black finish is very sleek on the counter top. I do not like the visual look of bulky, plastic electric tea kettles. The traditional white plastic is garish and really jumps out on the counter top. The Corvo EKG Electric Kettle matches our counter tops (and even the toaster oven that it is adjacent to) quite nicely. As you can see from the photo, it actually blends in and has a very small footprint occupying very little real estate on the counter top. For size, you can see a meal kit 8.5" x 11" recipe card next to the kettle. - Speed: the kettle heats up insanely quickly - less than 2 minutes from room temp to boiling for my tea! - Variable temperature control: I primarily drink mint tea and the small booklet told me the exact temperature that I should heat water for this kind of tea. Who knows what temperature I was getting from my previous microwave approach! I suppose if I were to branch out to other kinds of tea, I now know the right temperature for those types. Also, it looks like they have a recommended temperature for brewing coffee. So, if you're a pour over kinda guy or gal, this electric kettle would work really nicely for brewing coffee and you wouldn't need two different electric kettles or pieces of brewing equipment. - The timer is built in so you don't have to set a separate timer on your microwave or Google Home (does anyone else's Google Home not pay attention to them when they call out a timer?!). Finally, I've also recently found a secondary use for our Corvo EKG electric kettle. I've replaced this with our (white plastic, garish) milk bottle warmer that we use for breast milk for our baby. It wasn't the primary reason for purchasing this, but when I unpacked it, I realized I only needed one of them on my counter. Now I can heat up water at the exact temperature that is recommended for heating breast milk so as not to reduce any of the nutritional elements of the milk (if you heat milk up too hot, it's not good for the composition of the nutrients). And, with the "HOLD" feature (basically, you switch a little button on the back of the base to "hold" at your preferred temp for 60 minutes), I can hold the heated water at the right temperature so if the baby wants more milk, I already have the hot water ready to go. Heated water from the electric kettle heats breast milk WAY faster than the traditional single-function bottle warmer. The Corvo EKG electric kettle is a no brainer if you brew coffee and/or tea, and if you happen to be heating baby bottles as well, you can use this in place of another kitchen gadget. • Very nice!
Color: Matte Black Size: Corvo EKG
A lot of people get the gooseneck one but that is really only good for pour-over coffee as it dispenses really slowly. This is the one to get if you don't do a lot of pour overs. This one has the least rubber/silicone in it of any I've found. It is mostly all stainless steel inside, just a tiny grommet in the bottom appears to be silicone. Contrast that with the Zojirushi water boiler I had before, that had a big plastic water level indicator and all of the hot water was pumped through a silicone tube. This kettle is much better in that respect. It works well and I really like how fast it heats up and that I can dial in a precise temperature based on if I am having green tea, black tea, or coffee, or just want some boiling water fast for making pasta. It just works! The styling is quite elegant, it has a bit of a bauhaus style which I really like. If this proves to be reliable (I'll update my review if not), call me a happy camper with this! It is so choice, if you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up. ... show more

  • Perfection!
Love this! So sleek looking and heats the water perfectly, very easy to use!

  • Really wanted to love it - inaccurate & inconsistent
This is the second kettle (the first one was replaced by the manufacturer because it was also faulty) that we have had. I really wanted to like it because it's aesthetically very pleasing. The gooseneck kettle does not pour quickly (we had that one before and it worked fine) so we got this one even though it's a little less pretty. We use it for different types of tea & coffee, so we like the temperature variability. But after setting it to 212, the next person to use it (even though they set it to 185 or 190) will have to watch the kettle because it will bring the water to a rapid boil though the digital display reads 189. This happens pretty much every other use (and we do use the kettle multiple times a day). We have had to adjust the amount of water we put in it because at a rapid boil it will spill over even if you only fill to the fill line. So we fill about an inch under the fill line, reducing the amount of water we can brew with each kettle. Pretty annoying if you have 2 people using the kettle at once. This kettle was replaced in November of 2021 and it started acting up in early February of 2022. Super disappointed and probably going back to my old faithful Bona Vita. ... show more

  • Minimalist Aesthetic, Flawless Functionality; Well Worth the Money Minimalist Aesthetic, Flawless Functionality; Well Worth the Money
Color: Matte Black Size: Corvo EKG
I spent months trying to find the perfect electric kettle when I finally came across the Corvo. I had been certain it would be easy to find the perfect solution for <$50. However, practically all options at that price point were aesthetically unappealing, or lacking in functionality. The few I found that seemed nearly acceptable often had a slew of complaints regarding shoddy materials and craftsmanship. So I chose a price point I felt was way more than I'd ever feel worth paying, and that's how I stumbled across the Corvo EKG. I spent another month or so checking out the company Fellow, their other products, and customer reviews before I felt comfortable to budget so much money toward an electric kettle; I've long since decided that it was absolutely money well spent. I love everything about the Corvo EKG: its aesthetic, function, and size. Aesthetically, it is perfect in my opinion. The minimalist design is pleasingly streamlined. It catches the eye but doesn't scream for attention to the detriment of its surroundings. For its minimalist form, the Corvo EKG is packed full of function considering its one button to rule them all (practically) design. With the exception of the HOLD mode and Fahrenheit/Celsius toggle switches on the back, the front button/dial controls everything with remarkable ease. Press to turn on/off twist to set desired temperature, and press and hold to start a countdown for the built in brewing timer to begin. The HOLD function is great for when I'm wanting to make a single cup of tea but might want another; or, for when I get sidetracked by something and forgot I put the kettle on 30 minutes ago, but I come back to it and it's steadfastly guarded that ideal temperature for me to finally be able to enjoy a cuppa. On the rare occasion that I've completely forgotten the kettle was on, the automatic shutoff feature limits the consequences of my fauxpas to a minimal amount of wasted electricity and water as opposed to a destroyed kettle and possible house fire. Some may scoff at the size and water capacity of the Corvo EKG; however, considering the speed at which it can attain a desired temperature, this little kettle is more than enough to stand up to the demands of an individual. I use mine for a single cuppa here and there, occasionally to brew a small teapot's worth, and cooking cup ramen in my room/office. If I could change anything about the Corvo EKG, it would be to incorporate HOLD mode Fahrenheit/Celsius toggles into the single front button in the form of unique button press sequences (ex. Two quick presses toggle HOLD on/off; three presses and a turn of the dial will switch temperature scales) The only concern I had when purchasing the Corvo was after reading about the difficulty people were having when ordering via Amazon. From the reviews, it seemed as though people were receiving an inordinate amount of DOA kettles. I felt I was rolling the dice ordering through Amazon, but mine came on time and in perfect working order. ... show more

  • First one broke, but replacement is very nice
Color: Matte Black Size: Corvo EKG
EDIT: I contacted Corvo directly through their website, and they sent me a replacement unit. I did actually get the display working again on my old one, but because of that weird popping noise, the customer service rep recommended that I just dispose of it and use the new one instead. The replacement kettle has been working well (no popping) for about a month now. I'm leaning towards the conclusion that my first one was just a dud. Given the customer service and full replacement, this product goes from one star to four for functionality. It does still strike me as overpriced, and the issues mentioned at the end of my original review still keep it from achieving that last star. (Primarily the confusion about how it handles boil-dry protection, and the fact that the body and top of the kettle get quite hot in use.) My final comment/change from my original review pertains to the lack of an audible indication that the water is "ready." I think that stance was too harsh. Sure, it doesn't whistle or anything, but the kettle is actually pretty noisy when boiling, and gets noticeably _quiet_ once it hits the goal temperature. So, there is an indication, it's just subtler than a piercing whistle. I can adapt to that, and even appreciate it, really. Original Review: The kettle started making extremely loud popping noises after about a month of use. Sounded like water bubbles vaporizing inside the structure somewhere. My boyfriend wouldn't stand near it because he said it sounded like it was going to explode. I kept using it though, until today the temperature display is totally kaput. There's a jagged line of pixels (which do move around), but no temperature readings. I guess that's where the exploding water was? It does still heat water, but without the temperature control, I'll go back to my little $30 kettle, which has given me solid use for 4 years. I never immersed either the kettle or the base in water, in case anyone's wondering. To de-scale I simply boiled some vinegar, then ran through several rinses. I did NOT carefully dry off the outside of the kettle after every pour, though, so maybe that's now the water got in? I did frequently top it up and put it back on right away after use. There were definitely a few times that the side of the kettle was a bit wet. In normal operation, it's also not particularly worth the price tag. There doesn't seem to be any real boil-dry protection, and it doesn't make any audible indication that the water is ready. Which means that if if set it on to boil, and forget you have, it can easily boil dry. I did once see an indication on the display (when I came back to it far too late) that there was "No Water" in the kettle. So, it can tell. Not sure if it acts on that information in any way. I was so excited to get a fancy kettle for steeping different types of tea, but even if it hadn't broken after three months, I'd say this kettle was only average/about a three star at best. It is pretty classy looking, and the variable control was nice. The pot isn't really insulated, so it would get quite hot to the touch, but the handle is always cool. Because of the short life span, I'm bringing it down to one star. Their website says that they do NOT warranty products sold through Amazon. I've sent an inquiry anyway, and will update the review if they respond to it. ... show more

  • Perfect for my needs, could use an upgrade with notification capabilities
Let's start by saying that I like nice things and will pay more for things that fit my lifestyle/counter space. This is not the cheapest product out there, but it also doesn't look like lab equipment or truck stop appliance like other electric kettles out there do. That said, this kettle is great - it heats fast, fits inconspicuously on my counter and my single lifestyle and, let's be honest, it's easy on the eyes with the design. If you want more bang for your buck, there are a lot of great options. If you are like me, this is perfect for you. One thing that isn't a problem for me, but just a missed opportunity for the brand - it should have a sound/notification for when water hits your desired temp and then one to remind you that it is still on or has turned off. This technology is not expensive or complicated, so it shouldn't be too hard to upgrade in the future for the company. That said, it has auto-shutoff and a timer to keep your water hot - it just doesn't beep at you. ... show more

  • The perfect reliable kettle for 1 or 2 people
Color: Matte Black Size: Corvo EKG
The perfect kettle for a household that has a tea lover and a coffee drinker. The ability to brew a small pot of tea to the correct temperature and then warm water to the best temperature for a French press of coffee in a small amount of time is a game changer. It functions well AND looks great on the counter. I love that it holds the water temp and has the safety auto shut off if I've forgotten. We've had ours for 2 years without any problems. It still looks great and works even better. The best compliment was when my sister from England bought one of her own. You know how the English are particular about brewing tea. Cheers to a great kettle! ... show more
