While the device is new to my system so my review cannot cover use over a long period of time, so far I have noticed some significent details during setup. I used Gparted in a Linux system to create my initial msdos partition. Next as a test I created an extended partition. This was followed by a 33g ext4 partition. In each case the task appeared to be accomplished in manner very rapid and solid. This detail impressed me in such a way as to feel that I was dealing with a much better drive of superior quality than I have purchased before. They all have been quite acceptable, but this one seems much faster in basic tasks and the lack of hesitation has left me with some confidence in the quality of this ssd drive. I would, again referring to my lack of long-term experience, purchase another drive without hesitation.

I wasn't expecting anything from this brand. I bought this item to revive an old laptop but fanxiang really surprised me. Well packed and few plastic and almost no paper envelope, which is a good thing. Once I installed windows 11 on it, the laptop works smooth and nice. I don't give 5 points because it is too soon to know if is going to last. As I said in the title "good and cheap"

Pros: (1) I verified that the capacity really is 512GB by writing 512107741184 bytes (as monotonically increasing 64-bit chunks) to it while calculating a sha256 hash of the data, then reading it back from the drive. Same hash. If the drive was actually smaller but faking a 512GB capacity, the hash could not match. (2) The drive is much faster than the old 7200rpm SATA drive it replaced. (3) I was able to install Fedora 35 on it in a Dell E6410 laptop. (4) The laptop feels much faster and more responsive, well worth the $22. Cons: (1) The SATA connector does not make reliable contact in the laptop because the drive is thinner than the older 2.5 inch drive it replaced. The drive caddy has trouble holding it at the correct angle for reliable contact. A thin shim is required to build up the drive thickness to the original spec. (2) The "warranty void if removed" labels on the long edge of the drive make the drive too wide to slide into the Dell drive bay. The labels become scraped off along the edge where they fold over. The 2.5 inch drive dimensions spec does not permit labels on this edge. Hey Fanxiang? Put those labels elsewhere.

I bought and installed two 2-TB NVME M.2 Fanxiang SSDs into my ASUS x570 Gaming Plus Wifi desktop computer (Ryzen 12 core CPU and 64GB ram) 5 months ago and they have worked flawlessly with Ubuntu 22.04 linux formatted in either EXT4 or BTRFS (I tried both formats). I just bought this 2-TB SATA Fanxiang SSD an and attached to a SATA3 on the same machine and it too has been working great. Performance with it has been around 550 MB/s ... which is what I expected.

The only thing I am disappointed about is the fact I could have saved $20 if I had ordered later. 😂 Take advantage of the prices going down. It might not stay that way. The shipping was fast and the drives I bought both are amazing.

Copying data over now. The path is Ethernet from a Win10 PC to Win11 PC through a WIFI router. Data rate shows as 113MB/sec, typical of other devices connected this way. I assume it is Ethernet limiting the transfer rate. Will be done in 3 hours. SATA III capability is around 550MB/sec. The mini PC had a SATA III port not a second m.2 NVME. Once data is copied over this SSD should work well. The price was nearly $40 less than some name brand SSDs.P
