  • Very impressed!
Bought this for my mom whose Shark recently stopped working. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise considering the Shark had long been too heavy for her to manage comfortably. While I knew that she needed something more lightweight, I was also hoping to find something cordless so that vacuuming the stairs wouldn't pose such a nightmare for her. Going in, I guess I was ready to accept that, with these caveats as priority considerations, it would almost certainly mean having to compromise on overall performance. There was also the uncertainty regarding runtime of a rechargeable battery. Would this mean having to re-charge the battery more than once to finish vacuuming the house? A lot to consider, but after some research, and taking into consideration the reviews for this machine, I decided to give the Eureka a try. While I couldn't be absolutely sure without mom actually giving it a go herself, I was at least hopeful that it would be lightweight enough for her to use. And, because it is cordless, I figured she'd be much more comfortable trying to maneuver it around the house. Also, while I still wasn't sure what to expect in terms of how long the vacuum could run before having to recharge it, the Eureka had enough positive reviews that I felt reasonably confident that it would meet most of my general criteria. As it turns out, it most definitely is lightweight enough for my mom to maneuver around her house and the fact that it doesn't have a cord makes it even more so. I don't know what I expected in terms of its suction, but I was blown away at how well it picks up from hardwood, tile, and carpeted floors. Way better than the Shark, even! I watched my mom pretty much breeze through the kitchen, dining room, and family room with no problems at all. The stairs, which had always been a problem for her, were vacuumed with relative ease and with much better results than before, due not just to the machine being cordless and lightweight, but also due to less bulkiness of the machine itself. You can get into those corners and along the wall much more tightly than with a larger machine. The tools that come with are simple to use; the brush, crevice tool, extension, and vacuum head are all she really needs. Was a bit concerned about her ability to switch them out, since she has severe arthritis in her hands. But the large buttons that you press to swap them out made it much easier for my mom to manipulate once she got the hang of it. As far as runtime, that turned out not to be an issue at all. This thing can easily do all of the main floor, plus the downstairs of her house and still have some charge left over for quick pick-ups later. Part of this, I think, may be because you don't have to go over and over certain areas of the floor to get it completely vacuumed. The suction in this machine is so efficient, the time it takes to do the vacuuming is far less than it used to be. Now, it's just zip, zip and you're done. That being said, If I had to guess, I'd say a fully charged battery will allow this vacuum to run somewhere around 45 minutes, maybe even a bit longer, before needing to be re-charged. It does have helpful indicator lights, though, to keep you mindful of how much charge you have left just in case you lose track. Couldn't be happier with this Eureka, in fact I'm considering purchasing one for myself. Compared to dragging around a far heavier and corded machine that has a much harder time switching between hard floors and carpet efficiently, the Eureka is a dream to use and does a far better job at actually cleaning than I would ever before have hoped for or imagined. ... show more

  • Good price for the quality
I’ve had this vacuum a little less than two years and it’s worked very well for myself and two cats in a 640 square foot apartment that’s 85% carpeted. It does take a long time to charge, so I usually plug it in overnight, but once charge will vacuum the whole apartment. The suction is good, picks up the majority of cat hair. It does REALLY well picking up stray cat litter!! The canister and filter comes apart easily for cleaning, but you are supposed to replace the filters (oops). It’s lightweight and easy to carry/push around. My only complaint is that my hair gets wrapped around the brush to it needs to be periodically cut out. Cat hair doesn’t seem to get stuck, but my hair goes well past my shoulders so it makes sense that the longer the hair, the more likely it is to get stuck. That being said the roller brush is super easy to take out and detangle! Overall I recommend. We just moved to a townhouse with twice the square footage, a little less than half is carpeted, so we’ll see how it does here! ... show more

  • This vacuum is AMAZING 🤩 (I have 4 dogs)
So I am not one to write reviews. I think in my lifetime I’ve written about 3 and this is the third of those lol. So I purchased this vacuum back in March of 2023. Let me say I have 4 dogs, one chocolate lab, one Australian Shepherd, one chihuahua and one chihuahua mix. So let me just say that between the 4 of those I could build me a new house out of the hair they shed. So the ONLY reason this vacuum received 4 stars from me is because after 6 months of continuous use, which the suction power on this thing is absolutely amazing. Anyways after using this thing consistently for 6 months it starting pausing while using it, and by pausing I mean the brush would stop spinning making the light turn off. While the suction itself would still be on the brush wouldn’t spin. A small yank on the handle would make it come back on, then after this the wheels starting tilting outwards and long story short it currently has no wheels and pauses on and off while using it. Now I was foolish and didn’t purchase the warranty for it BUT I contacted Eureka customer service to see if they could fix it, I wouldn’t mind paying for the repairs. HOWEVER them being as amazing 🤩 they could repair it but since it was still covered under manufacturer warranty they sent me a check for the amount I spent!!!! Now after this I decided to try my luck on a couple other vacuum's, all I fail I might add. I’m currently waiting on my new Eureka Vacuum to deliver today but dug this puppy out from the garage and am using it as is in the mean time LOL. EVEN WITH THE PAUSING AND NO WHEELS, WORKS BETTER THAN OTHERS! So I’ll update progress with the new one, for which I did purchase the warranty for. So don’t hesitate and buy it!! ... show more

  • Started off Strong and then it died…
I got this vacuum in August 2021, if I’m not mistaken. I have a small house about 900 sq feet, so not huge. Only half of it is carpet and honestly I use the vacuum more on the half that is laminate than anything else because of the dog hair. Initially, the vacuum worked so well! After using this vacuum I followed the instructions on how to clean the parts thinking it would renew the suction power… it did not. The dog hair kept getting stuck in the Stick part or the little curve that goes into the waste container and it just would pick up dust and drop it again. I had to stop multiple times to unclog the hair either in the tube or the brush. It’s so frustrating when you are trying to just do daily touch ups. I am so disappointed, I was very excited about this purchase and hoped that it would work. I regret purchasing this because I now had to invest MORE money to replace it.. why? Because this vacuum won’t even stay on now! How is it basically dead after such a short use? It hasn’t even been 6 months!! I wish I could get my money back because this is so unfair. I expected to get at least a year of use out of it. Now, I will have to throw it out because why. Bother saving it? It will likely cost more to figure out what’s wrong with it and fix it than the original cost. Don’t bother with this, either save up for a better quality one or prepare to spend around $300 total between the cost of this one and the cost of its replacement in a few months. Not worth it if you use it often for dog hair and spot cleaning. Original Review: I am beyond impressed. I have wanted a cordless vacuum for years, but I wasn’t willing to spend $500 on a vacuum! Before we got a White Shepherd we just had a basic dirt devil, it got the job done. Now, he’s almost a year old and the little dirt devil can’t keep up with the massive hair all over and the sand/dirt he tracks in from the yard (we live in Florida, lots of sand). I loved the price point, happy to try the other attachments soon. It even did such a good job at being quiet our 10 year old didn’t hear it from her room! I think I might vacuum daily now because it’s so easy and so lightweight! Lol bonus that it will make me clean more haha ... show more

  • Better than I thought
I got this because I have really tall ceilings and a vaulted one in the living room. I needed something to reach up and grab the cobwebs, and the regular vacuum is not easy to detach and it doesn't reach very far. Bonus, I wanted to see if something could quickly give the hard floors a good sweep, without scattering whatever it was going over. Test one, super light, reached as far as I could get it into the vault (I'll need a taller ladder) and still grabbed most of what was just barely beyond reach. It wasn't heavy, awkward, or anything, it's surprisingly light. Test two, quick pick up of all the stuff that blew in the front door from the trees out front. Picked it all up easily, no scattering, I even ran it around the perimeter of the room, got the bottom of the baseboards, pulled the sweeper part off and then got the top of the baseboards, windowsills, and the light fixtures. Test one and two, same charge, different days, plugged it back in after finishing test two. I got about 30-40 minutes of use out of it I'd say, I wasn't paying much attention to the clock when I did this, just what it was picking up. Test three, quick sweep of my bedroom carpet. It was handy, I didn't want to get the regular vacuum out, it just needed a quick pick up. Sheer laziness on my part, but it picked everything up just fine. Test four, the deciding factor, outside the litter boxes. Now, I've used multiple floor vacuums for this, and it just kicks litter around the room, and they barely pick anything up, so I typically just sweep it a couple times a day. My boy cat is a litter kicker, I've recently changed his litter box to help, but there is still some tracked off the mats. I pulled this out, and I had spilled some litter on the floor when I was refilling a box, so I figured now was my chance. Does not kick litter around. Not even a piece. It picked it all up. All of it. I was using the sweeper part, with the roll on, both high and low, still no kicking the litter around. I figured this was too good to be true, no way was it going to get the little pile I had from where I spilled with the sweeper, but it did. All of it. I'm actually really impressed with this, based on just the litter test, I've never found anything that gets most, let alone all of the mess. We're moving to a different house soon and the litter boxes are going on a different floor, so I'll be getting a second one of these to keep nearby. Test three, four, and a quick pickup of my car (floor mats, under them, front, back, and trunk area), were all on the same charge. My suggestions, this would be a great little vac for the dorms, small apartment, cars, and for smaller jobs around the house. I have not ran the battery out yet, but I get quite a bit done in a short amount of time, I'll start keeping track after it's next charge, but this will get a good bit done before needing another charge. I was ready to spend quite a bit more on another major brand, but I'm glad this one and the reviews caught my eye. I'll have two of them for less than the other one here shortly. ... show more

  • Don't buy the Dyson, this is so much more affordable and works great - even if you have pet hair!
Ok, I am not normally a review writer. In fact, I probably purchase 20 things off Amazon each month, for years, and have only written 2 reviews to complain. I looked and looked at reviews of several stick vacs before picking this one. I have a Dyson that is great for my carpets, but we now have laminate flooring throughout the house (dark laminate) that shows every hair, fuzz, speck, leaf, .....you get the picture. It made me crazy to see the dust and hair on the floor when the light came through the windows. I needed something I could grab, quickly, and go through the house and a broom wasn't cutting it. This was EXACTLY what I was looking for!!! For reference, I have three long haired cats and a German shepherd. We have lots of hair. I have two teenage daughters with lots of hair, AND.....we live out on property with lots of dust and dirt that comes in with us from the barn. I am so happy with this vac and I'm even more happy I tried this first and didn't pay for a Dyson. I thought, "I'll try this for a lower price and hope for the best!" I'm so glad I did. The PROS: super light weight (I think like 5 lbs all together and 3 if you are using it as a handheld vac), battery lasts me two or three full uses around the whole house (my house is 1000 sq. ft. for reference - only throw rugs and no wall-to-wall carpet) before needing a charge. Works great on throw rugs, although you have to hold the corner of the rug down so it doesn't suck it up. Has a light that shows dirt in hard to reach places, lies flat to go right under the coffee table, easy to get on the sides of toilets in the bathroom, head comes off fast to do quick spider webs in the corners, has two attachments that are quick on and off and easy to use in corners. Has a nice hang up attachment and doesn't take up too much space. Super easy to dump the cannister and isn't messy like my Dyson. In fact, I ALWAYS managed to get some of the dust out on the floor when emptying my Dyson. NEVER have that problem with this little vac. Great at getting fine dust and pet hair. Just discovered, yesterday, how much I love making it into a little vac. If you take off the stick and the roller attachment that goes on the floor, and attach one of the corner attachments, it becomes a hand vac with good suction. I ran all over the house sucking behind couch cushions, around lamps, the cracks in my office chair........I seriously WANT to vacuum with this thing and with no cords it is so easy. Oh, and it's quiet enough to actually vac while I'm simultaneously on a phone call...LOVE THAT! It will also pick up cat litter and the big kind from the "Breeze" system that looks like pellets. CONS: Since we have a lot of hair, every 3rd or 4th time I use it, I grab some scissors and get the hair off the roller (this is something I really should have been doing with my Dyson too in all actuality). If you do it often, it is easy and quick and keeps the roller working great! Doesn't sit up on it's own if you have to set it down for a minute. You have to lean it up on something. That is a little annoying, but not a deal breaker in light of all the Pros. Doesn't suck like my Dyson, but I have not found anything left behind. ... show more

  • OK if you don't do a thorough vacuum job : /
Update July 2022: Take a star off. I've only had this vacuum five months, and already the button on the brush attachment has popped off and I cannot get it back in place. Tried to get a replacement part from amazon.com but they're telling me I need to contact Eureka. I will attempt to get the part replaced from the vendor, but the odds of getting customer satisfaction (going by customer service practice in general, these days) is probably very, very low. Bottom line is, five months in a part has already broken. So the quality of this item is now called into question, along with the cons I mentioned below. My daughter suggested this vacuum - she's got a cat, and now I have one. However, I tend to be more thorough than her when cleaning, thus typically do a longer vacuum time when cleaning up around my place. What I like: * Lightweight! But still a legit vacuum *if you don't have heavy duty or extensive cleaning to do.* I have a one bedroom apt with mostly hardwood floors, so for me it seemed a good choice. * Convertible to a dust buster type cleaner. * Convenient wall attachment keeps the vacuum in place when charging/in storage. Caveat: definitely use the wall attachment, cuz otherwise the top heavy vacuum will crash to the floor when you try to lean it anywhere. What I don't like: * Attachments are eh -- the upholstery attachment isn't all that great, but since it's got a brush end (which is very small, size of a half dollar), at least it captures some hair off of the couch and bed. Doesn't seem to have much suction, though. BATTERY - horrible. : / I've used this vacuum to do whole apt cleaning three times, now. I have a one bedroom apartment with one rug, and three fabric surfaces (loveseat, couch, bed) that need vacuuming. I have not been able to get the thing to last more than 15-20 minutes per charge. I thought I saw 40 minutes advertised when I purchased it - if that was an honest metric, I would have given this product 5 stars. Since it's the worst part of the item - battery charge is pretty terrible - it gets 3 stars. Eureka needs to correct their battery metric to 15-20 minutes. Anything else is deceptive IMO. Since it does seem to get a decent amount of dirt/lint/etc off of the surfaces (evidence is easy to see in the clear dirt cup) it's a decent purchase IMO, but you can probably find better in terms of battery staying power for a few dollars more. ... show more

  • Phenomenal--but know what you want to use it for
This is exactly what I needed to meet my needs. Just moved into a new house with tile, more wood floors and an area rug, and the $35 'electric sweeper'-type lithium rechargeable I had been using just wasn't cutting it. It barely did anything on tile, couldn't get dirt-pushed-against-floorboard, and while it could skim regular carpet for hair and dog crumbs couldn't handle our area rug for some reason. I bought this primarily so I could use the long arm and crevasse tool to get floorboard dirt without bending over, and hoped for the best for the rest. I got: * Something that picks up 99% of dirt on tile on first sweep, no second-third passes, and at speed--no going super slow trying to give the suction time to catch the dirt, only to spit it out again. * It picks up 90% of dirt-at-floorboards *with the sweeper head attached*, so much less frequent use of crevasse tool than I expected, then the crevasse tool gets the rest with ease. * Has nearly the suction of a normal vac. It got dog hair and bone crumbs off the area rug easily, and got a *lot* of dust and hair out of the rug's fibers. The filter was full when I cleaned it. I'd say it picks up as much as my main vac, just in a smaller compartment. * Easily fits under the couch and chairs, so you can clean under there frequently (and with wood floors, dirt there is much more noticeable). * Incredibly maneuverable--it goes where you direct it with little pressure. So this is a great vac for certain uses. I see a few common complaints in the reviews, so just know what you're looking for before you buy. This is perfect for day-to-day tidying after the dog, 3 year old and husband. I got the battery to run 20 minutes on high, which is enough time to get the regular trouble areas--that's about 800 square feet for me. I will also use it for cleaning days prior to mopping, but there I don't mind doing half the main floor and letting it recharge while I do other things. The suction is plenty powerful for its size--it pulled a *lot* of dog hair and dust out of the area rug--and I feel comfortable using it for my day to day cleaning. It gets the area rug back to "I feel comfortable barefoot on it" status on a daily basis. However, between battery length and filter size, this *isn't* meant to replace your corded vacuum cleaner, especially if you have regular carpet. This is directed at wood, tile and area rugs. I'll probably still pull the main vac out and hit the area rug every six months or so just to 'make sure'. But for non-wall to wall carpet floor surfaces, it works spectacularly. And this would probably work on regular carpet too, but just for tidying purposes. One last thing--it does have trouble staying upright for storage, so you will probably have to use the wall socket they provide. I had a sturdy hook I could hang it on, but not everyone has that. ... show more
