12/08/25 Since my last review, I was contacted by the manufacturer about the vacuum not doing as well as expected. I was pleasantly surprised with the contact since I had given up. They offered to replace the vacuum, which they did, & though I had doubts when the new one arrived to find that it actually lives up to their promises. The suction was good before, but this one is much better. I love that it actually goes to edge of baseboards, walls, & gets every single speck of dust, fur, etc. Maneuvering is very easy, quiet & the light on the front actually hits the floor in front of the vac instead of up in the air which is of no value in any way. Can’t say enough about how nice & fast customer service worked to help me. This is a great vacuum & the company stands by their product! ... show more

Very light and powerful it has quickly became my favorite vacuum, and I love that you can actually clean the stairs with a brush roller and it breaks down so you’re not carrying a whole vacuum up and down the stairs.

    • Second time's a charm - wow does this vacuum suck up the dog hair!

I could not get the screws to go into the handle of the Eureka "Pet Upright Vacuum Cleaner for Carpet and Hard Floor, OmniVerse NEU801BL with QuickShift Technology, Blue." So I called the toll-free help line - who was no help at all. They suggested I go to the hardware store and get longer screws. I did that - and discovered the problem is that the screw hole was drilled wrong. One of the new bolts fit in - but the other side did not. Okay, so I asked to return it. They said I'd have to package it up in a box and apply a mailing label. Well, once you "click" the handle into the base, you can't "unclick" it - so it doesn't fit in the box! Meanwhile I still don't have a functioning vacuum cleaner. What a waste of time and money! UPDATE: The return went well, and to my surprise, Eureka replaced the vacuum cleaner. The second one assembled as promised and I think I understand the problem - there are two small nuts taped into place that the handle bolts are supposed to go into - the first one I got didn't have those screws - it was just open. Now that I was able to assemble and use it - WHAT A VACUUM! I'm amazed at how much dust it sucked out of my carpet! Seems to be handling the combination of my daughter's long hair and the copious fur shed by my Bernese Mountain Dog on a daily basis. Powerful. The head is kinda small (width-wise) but I guess it gets into smaller areas more easily that way. Fits under my furniture easily. The only thing I don't really like about it, is that you have to detach the entire canister assembly WITH THE CORD STILL ATTACHED to empty it. However, it does a fantastic job picking up the dog hair and dust out of my old carpets. ... show more

If you use vacuum attachments often, then do not get this vacuum. To use attachments you have to take the canister off the main vacuum and hook up the attachments to it. The attachments do not get stored on the main body of the vacuum, instead they give you a bag to keep them in when not in use. It really makes vacuuming much more annoying this way. The head of the vacuum is on a swivel, so when you push the vacuum forward, it tends to go to one side or another. It takes a little bit to get used to how you have to "steer" this vacuum. The suction is very good. The canister is very small and fills up quickly. I much prefer a bag that you can throw out and replace instead of having to empty the canister, which is usually a messy operation. Overall I pretty much hate using this vacuum. ... show more

I run the vacuum cleaner 2 to 3 times a week, so finding one that met my needs was crucial. Luckily, this vacuum delivered on all fronts. With its powerful suction and user-friendly design, it made cleaning a breeze. The retractable cord and easy-to-empty debris cup were thoughtful features that I found very convenient.     • Top of pole assembly is backwards

I am usually reluctant to leave reviews but in this case I feel obligated to tell anyone who purchases this vacuum to pay close attention to the pole/handle assembly. I received the vacuum and was anxious to try it so as I began to assemble. I could not get the handle assembly to go on as the directions indicated. The handle is supposed to interlock with the plastic spacer at the top of the pole assembly so that the handle is upright and has a low profile when you vacuum under furniture. It turns out the plastic piece at the top of the 2-pole assembly was installed backwards. That prevented the vacuum from having a low profile and it also prevented the canister from securely latching at the top of the pole. I have worked in the trades for 30 years so I got a small wooden mallet and gently tapped the piece off, turned it around and assembled the vacuum properly. I think it is so messed up to put paying consumers thru something like that or having to send a unit back. BUT mistakes happen. The vacuum works great so far, incredible suction on both rugs and hardwood floors (change the setting on the unit for which type of floor you are vacuuming.) It has a nice long cord and many useful attachments/detachments. I will change my rating over time. ... show more
