  • Great little vacuum and fantastic customer service Great little vacuum and fantastic customer service
We purchased this vacuum, Eufy x10 Pro Omni, for a house gift to ourselves for Christmas. We ordered it on Cyber Monday and didn't receive it until December 24th. No problem, thankfully we had a friend that remained in town and was able to go to our house on Christmas eve and place it in our garage. I started using the vacuum on Friday the 27th, 9 days ago and I have been running it through all the functions and everything I can to see if it has any issues or if it doesn't meet my expectations so I can return it if there are any issues. Before trying to use the vacuum, I watched all the videos and read as much material as I could on setting it up and mapping the home. After feeling comfortable about setting it up I started to set it up to map the house, following instructions in the manual I downloaded. Everything went pretty well and it seem to map out the rooms very well. I noticed if you have curtains that hang to the floor this will cause the vacuum to drive around the curtains and not get close to the wall. Also if you have a bed skirt around the bed it will not go through it to get under the bed. This prevents the vacuum from going under the bed to clean. Before we clean the rooms we pull this up and tuck it in so it will clean under the bed and I roll the curtains up so it will get closer to the wall. I have tried every command and different levels to vacuum different rooms, vacuum and mop bathrooms and the kitchen. The vacuum works very well and I like how it will self-empty at the time intervals I have set it at. For tile it mops and cleans very well with no streaks. Our hardwood floor it cleans it very well however, it leaves swirling marks as well as tire pattern marks from the wheels. I have tried different water levels and trying to clean twice. I do like that the vacuum washes the mops and then dry's the mop heads, so they don't begin to smell. Great feature. When it self-cleans, after vacuuming, it is pretty loud. I think this is because it needs a great deal of suction to clean out the vacuum and deposit it in the bag. This is not an issue if the base is in a different room away from locations you use to relax or watch TV. Even then, it's no problem because it only lasts a few seconds and you can run it when you're not home. I have tried every scenario this vacuum has to offer and it has worked very well and I have been pleased up until last night. Day 8 of testing. For some reason the task of cleaning or emptying the tray for dirty water does not work anymore. I looked up how to troubleshoot this problem and have done everything, several times, that was in two or three troubleshooting guides, video and written. I cleaned everything even though nothing was dirty, since we have only had this vacuum for 8 days, before this issue. See the picture of the water in the tray and how clean it is. Not a dirt or dirty tray issue. I have checked rubber seals, blown soft air through the lines with no issues of blockage. Filters are all clean and brand new. I've been working on this issue for three hours now trying everything and chatting with Eufy, sending Eufy an email explaining the issue with uploaded videos showing all the parts and me going through the steps they requested to fix the problem. I can't call them because they are not open until Monday and as usual, nothing goes wrong until the weekend. At this point I am at a standstill until I can troubleshoot the problem with an actual person. I will update this review once I go through this process and will explain the solution. If, there is one other than replacing the unit. More to come on this. Up until this issue started this vacuum has worked exceptionally well. I highly recommend if you purchase this vacuum to take the time to run it through every scenario, as I have, to make sure it has no bugs and/or that it meets your expectations. At this point I would recommend it to a buyer with caution. This is a very sophisticated piece of equipment that, in my opinion, has a lot of things that could go wrong. Things that even the best handyman won't be able to fix. This day and age, appliances with electronics and all the bells and whistles fail quite regularly and require expensive circuit boards and electronics to repair them. Not to mention the cost for the repair person to do it if you are unable. I recommend purchasing the extended warranty. If not, run this thing every which way to Sunday before the 30-day return expires and then hope nothing fails, especially on a weekend, after the warranty has expired. More to come on this. Update. Eufy emailed me a return label and instructions to send back the base not the rob vac. I had saved the original box therefore, sending it back was not a problem. It took over a week to get a replacement base. I contacted Eufy per my concerns of this elapsed time were I was not able to continue testing the vacuum and its features within the 31 day timeframe for a full refund. They assured me they would extend this date by two weeks. I received the new base shortly after a week. When I returned the base I sent in the cord to the unit and left the vacuum bag installed. When I received the new base it was missing the cord and did not have a vacuum bag. I contacted Eufy and they assured me a cord and a pack of vacuum bags would be shipped. It’s been now almost one more week and I have yet to receive the shipment. For two weeks I haven’t been able to use the vacuum. Eufy did issue me a number to receive two wash pads for free. I had to go to a site through a link emailed to me and enter the code. Problem is, the code covered $10.00 of $12.00 cost do I had to pay $2.00. I contacted Eufy and they said they would reimburse me the $2.00 however, I would have to wait until I receive the pads and then I would need to contact them at such time. Now I’m waiting for the cord, vacuum bags and wash pads. Sorry this review has turned into a novel. I just want to put everything out there to help others to decide on a purchase. As for the vacuum and what I have experienced, while I was able to use it, I am very pleased with the results. Received the new base and everything has worked exceptionally well. Whenever I send the support or customer service an email or a question they always respond immediately with an answer. This unit I would recommend to anybody who has animals. I’ve not had a problem with dog hair tangling in the brush. If someone in the family has long hair that will get tangled in the brush. Great little mid price vacuum fantastic customer service. ... show more

  • In love with a clean house!
This is my first robot vacuum and I absolutely love it! Review is after a current month of use. Object detection: 9/10 This does a fantastic job of detecting common objects that might cause problems. You get alerts on your phone and it takes a picture of the object it avoided so you can review what you had laying around your house. It did however pick up a small charging cable once, I think it just had one of those once in a thousand chances to approach the cable on the ground at a perpendicular angle while it was laid out straight on the ground so the camera had a hard time recognizing it. Grey cable over grey rug you know. But I chalk it up to a fluke as its detected the cable on the ground when its more bunched up rather than laid flat out. When it did vacuum up the cable the vacuums tangle detection went off right away and the vacuum stopped in its tracks to prevent any sort of damage Vacuuming: 9/10 I love it but i will be hard pressed to give it a 10/10 on anything. Vacuuming works amazing for my modest apartment. I have no kids and no pets so it never has too much to pick up after it. The app allows you to set multiple type of modes from light vacuuming to more thorough deep clean. The vacuum itself it able to transition from my area rugs rather well, the only thing it seems to have issue with is lighter rugs but its more of a problem of those rugs then the vacuum. I can't expect the vacuum to be smart enough to avoid the curled up ends of my hallway runner and not fold it over itself. My bathroom rugs are another story however. I have concrete floors and my mats slide around easily and because of this the vacuum can't properly drive on top of them, ends up just trying to push them around. The auto-emptying feature can be a bit loud as well as the vacuum itself, I tend to let it run while i'm at work however so that has never been an issue for me. So nice coming home to a clean house every day! Mopping: 8/10 Disclaimer I've only used the mopping feature a couple times. I haven't used it on anything extensive, ive had a few minor spills that it appears to mop up well. Mostly i've just been treating this as a light mopping to clean up day to day dirt that accumulates during the week, I choose to run the mop once a week for my kitchen. The main reason i knocked it down to 8 is when i've applied a deep clean and watched it I believe the mop might have a tendency to dry out and not enough water gets applied. It could also be some settings I need to better apply. I will say I had some sticky spots on my floor and it cleaned it up properly so i'm 100% happy with it for my needs. The full self drying and cleaning feature of the mop pads it wonderful as well! I would recommend emptying the dirty water tank day of cleaning or else I would imagine it would start to smell having dirty water just sitting in that container. Also emptying it out quickly means it only needs a quick rinse with clean water to keep any sort of smell from building up and sticking inside from the dirty water. Which for me is a concern since the docking station sits behind the couch for me. AI Features: - Object detection 9/10: as i went over above earlier - Room Detection 10/10: Robot did a fantastic job mapping out different rooms in my house. Makes it so easy to explicitly tell it to clean certain rooms. For example due to my bathroom rugs I have it ignore vacuuming the bathroom on its daily task. Then on the weekend I can pull out my mats and send the bot to go clean just the bathroom, or I can set a weekly task for just mopping up the kitchen and main entryway - All in one cleaning 10/10: You can set the robot to figure out when it should vacuum and mop. I have concrete floors with area rugs, the robot will map out and properly detect your carpet and will intelligently figure out it shouldn't mop your carpet and only mop the hardwood/concrete sections. In the map the app builds of your floor plan you can actually see it map out any carpet you have over hardwood floors. All in all I would say the AI does better than advertised. A good example is on setup, they'll recommend you place the docking station somewhere with a good foot around both sides to make sure the robot can get back to the docking station and i've placed my docking station in a corner against a wall due to limited room. I can definitely see it have difficulty in navigating back to the docking station because it wants to make sure it doesnt scratch up the wall, but it always finds its way back with time. Ive tested placing it per recommendations and it has no issue navigating back to docking station immediately. but if you dont have a large place to put it, don't worry about having too much room on either side, just make sure you have a nice straight unobstructed path in front of it and it will be fine. I was honestly feeling I was having trouble justifying the price of this just to keep my house clean, but honestly coming home to a freshly clean house everyday is a mental health game changer. Especially when you don't have to put in any physical effort to keep it moderately clean. I come home and see the clean lines on my carpet from my vacuum running earlier, any small spills making breakfast are cleaned up before I get home. Another major bonus, since you can start cleanup tasks remotely. If you're out on a date and feel like you might bring your partner back home, or your out with any company and you know they'll be coming back to your place later to relax you can start a quick vacuum task to do a small bit of tidying up before anyone arrives telling it specifically to clean only the rooms where your guests might be relaxing! Edit: I would just like to give a few month update on this product since I know like myself hearing about how well these vacuums last after a few months is key. Vacuum is still a 10/10 for me. I come home to a clean home everyday after work, and it's fantastic to use for my kitchen after I just finished cooking, letting it mop up any liquids that fell and vacuum up the little bits of food. My house always feels spotless and clean and it's amazing. ... show more

  • Works well
I have a cat 15 pound cat who leaves tufts of fur and litter everywhere. In the past this wasn't a problem because his litter box was located somewhere that wouldn't interfere with daily traffic. Now I live in a 750 sq foot apartment, 80% hard flooring/20% carpet, and the litter is EVERYWHERE. My dinky vacuum (temporary replacement for my "real" vacuum) can't handle carpet. After thinking about how I need to clean my floor every day because of my cat, I decided it was time to invest it robot vacuums. I also have long hair, which gets into everything. What I was looking for: First, price and easy repairing. If you go cheap, expect it to break right after the warranty expires. I wanted something that had replacement parts available and could be easily repaired. After researching I discovered the 30-series of robovacs had almost all it's important parts available for replacement on the eufy website. And when looking at the vacuum itself, it didn't appear hard to repair. Second, be easy to clean. I hate vacuums that aren't easy to take apart for cleaning. The eufy had a very well thought out system and the little tool that comes with it is extremely handy. As example, the rotating brush has a notch on both sides of the spinny-joints. What this means is when hair gets wrapped around the end joints, you can go under the notch and cut the hair. (Every vacuum should have that!) Third, pick up litter & my hair and clean the carpet. After 4 days of having this guy bounce around my apartment, I can confidently say it works great at both things! The first day I used it I had to clean the entire bottom because my regular vacuum because it was packed full of fur and hair that got missed by my regular vacuum! All that litter that just gets everywhere and makes my feminine domestic heart hurt, is now taken gobbled up by this robovac. It also works much better than my dinky vacuum (not really a surprise, I think anything would work better). My single bedroom (where the carpet is located), now looks safe to walk on. It's remarkable how much junk this robot picks up too. Every day it's little trap is full of dust and... stuff. You never realize how dirty your floor is until you get one of these! Forth, be smart and hands free. It's here where I have to take a star off. The randomized pattern used for cleaning the floor is mentally unsatisfying but, over time, thorough in cleaning. The real problem is when it needs to find it's base. It doesn't have any kind of mapping system to know where it's base is located, so it just randomly pokes around until it finds it. This wouldn't be too bad except the battery is low and it's no longer capable of getting over the transition piece between the carpet and hard flooring. There's a 50-50 chance it'll get stuck! It's really annoying and the only area where I feel this robot falls flat on it's already flat face. For the price and the need, this is a solid purchase. I'm not sure how long it'll last but Anker is a good company. (I have dealt with their customer service with other devices that were in-warranty and had no problems.) And even if they aren't cooperative, they have replacement parts that are reasonably priced. Now that I have a robovac, I will likely never live without one. It's like a dishwasher. You don't NEED it but you WANT it! Note: We call him Dusty. I'm thinking of getting him some goggly eyes. Or maybe a name tag. PS: I forgot to mention this, but it's not very loud. It's not silent or anything, but compared to a regular vacuum cleaner it is significantly quieter. I live on the second story of an apartment complex and it's sound is pitched in such a way that I could run it at any time of day without fear of disturbing my neighbors. My cat, who's a little bit skittish, is not terrified of it either (though he does watch it from a distance, as if trying to figure out what it is). PPS: Don't cheap out and buy off-brand replacement parts (filters, side brushes, etc). They will drastically effect the performance of the vacuum! ... show more

  • Eufy Kicks My $1k Ultra SMART Mapping Vacuums In The BUTT! ALWAYS Finds its Way Home SUPER RARE. Eufy Kicks My $1k Ultra SMART Mapping Vacuums In The BUTT! ALWAYS Finds its Way Home SUPER RARE.
"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication"-Leonardo Devinci [Just like EUFY] It is now the nearly the end of 2020 and still going STRONG, SMART. SLEEK-- no need to replace battery, yet especially with the rare on/off switch on the bottom side. Also, with the tempered glass top still no scratches (all pictures updated). Looks and performs as amazing as the day it arrived for a solid 100 minutes! My favorite robotic vacuum of all time Highly recommended! ★★★★ Quality ★★★★ Price ★★★★ Shipping ★★★★ Description ★★★★ Smart Features ★★★★ Durability/Best in the industry ★★★★ Home Docking/Recharging ★★★★ Cleaning&Sensors EXCELLENT ★★★★ Longevity (a forever robotic vacuum) ★★★★ Gets under everything! Dust Bunny 🐰 Free Hone!. Original Review To set your expectation consider yourself LUCKY to have found this Eufy even though it is not APP operated, YET still out preforms all competition and has built on remote holder for scheduling with excellent client support to help replace also just press button for maximum cleaning on unit. Eufy is made by Anker ( approved) an incredible technology company that offer such inexpensive and extraordinary innovative power that you can find their products on the  Apple site and all of my experiences have been nothing, but amazing with Anker so when I realized Eufy was an Anker product I knew I scored big time. IF I had only known what I do now “SIMPLER and SLIMMER is ALWAYS BETTER” after 7 ULTRA SMART and FRUSTRATING Robotic Vacuums which only makes me appreciate this Eufy even more. Firstly... Could've saved a fortune! Something you have to learn the hard way. Save this link if you think otherwise because you WILL BE BACK. THE ‘Eufy’ EXPERIENCE: • Add to your Cart and Stalk I randomly found for $149 on lightening deal ⚡️and would’ve bought 2 white (hard to find) if I’d known it’d be this perfect (will update— always do if there any surprises and adjust Star Rating/Review). • Arrives quickly and I was certain it’d be another return and so far it has been the best out of 7 Robotic Vacuums in 3 Years thus far. • The 1st charge (extremely important to NOT turn-on without fully charging) is unbelievably FAST for a Robotic Vacuum. I actually received it before heading to the airport and could not believe I was able to test it fully changed before I was out the door in a rush! • I really appreciate that this is a FOREVER vacuum, unlike competitors Eufy by Anker this is the perfect option you can keep forever because they offer a replacement battery for $22 PRIME and an ON/OFF switch underneath I have never seen ever (to conserve battery life). I much rather pay $22 PRIME than be FORCED to buy a whole new vacuum which is extremely common in the robotic vacuum industry. Electronic products are made this way and die around the end of the warranty IF lucky and not 3 months (I've been through this 3 times) and force you to buy an entire new unit when you just pop a new battery in. Have fun with that if you skip. You will be back! • The batter offer replacement is way better than spending another $500 on avg. and it is designed in a way you just pop to in. So crazy and wasteful the robotic vacuum industry can is. Super impressed. • Eufy runs for 100 minutes of cleaning time when the Ultra Smart Vac’s need a full 12-24 hour charge before a test/cleaning and an industry standard of 30-40 minutes of cleaning time. • Eufy is THE ONLY ROBOTIC VACUUM TO ALWAYS FIND ITS WAY HOME TO DOCK AND RECHARGE— EVERY SINGLE TIME! Mind blown! I've only had one of many vacuums actually find it's way back and dock a total of 3 times. They ALWAYS claim it goes to it's Home/Charging Dock, yet never do! I simply cannot believe it! • It has a clever On/Off underneath which will help conserve your vacuums longevity if you do so choose. Something I have never seen and would’ve not appreciated until now after all the expensive duds. • In the video it sounds loud, yet not at all as loud as my other’s. It sounds like a blade less Dyson Fan if you are familiar. i.e Smooth Air Blowing • The accessories like extra filter, sweepers (the highest quality I have ever seen as they tend to arrive bent), comb with cutting tool (should be used everyday you run it and is extremely common with all Vacuums as of yet), etc. • Easy manuals no weird or bad grammar to scare you off that is all too common now. • The sensor is as common as all it will bump things just like a very expensive Vac and is very alert to People and Animals. (Updated has better sensory than any of my other 7 adventures, yeah still bumps but now notice not nearly as much as all other brands). • I am so used to Vacuums never ever finding their way “Home”, so why set a cleaning schedule. Pointless. Eufy you can confidently. • The simplest way to ensure it always finds its way home is to make sure all cables/wires are not on the floor which is common knowledge to Robotic Vacuum owners. No, it won’t destroy cables it will simply shut off and need to be manually docked otherwise your set for a cleaning schedule. • Far too many Smart Vacuums are just too thick to clean under platform beds and furniture and if they cannot fit under I am just not interested. Why have one if it’s not going to do “Spring Cleaning” everyday and keep your home fresh, dust mite and dust bunny 🐰 free? It’s by far one of the most desired features speaking for myself. • My most preferred Vacuum’s have been By Eco Vac’s DeeBot Pro’s (owned 3) most are slim enough to get under most everything and they mop (I don’t like my area rugs mopped so, only tired that once) they have several issues, but have been the Top for me since Eufy which I highly prefer to my Eco Vac M83 PRO that I will be giving away if Eufy keeps up being superior. • Area Rugs... Eufy is highly intelligent when it comes to area rugs from thick to thin (also carpet). My once preferred Vac was okay, but would always have a the toughest time on thin rugs by flipping them and dragging them, also trying to climb her high sheep pelts and getting stuck. Eufy is super smart with its sensor to stay away from fluffy pelts (those are dry clean and sheep pelt brush) AND thin and high pile rugs Eufy has ZERO ISSUE when cleaning. Just AMAZING. • Also, excellent for finding a diamond earring you dropped etc., yes, I absolutely use it to FIND Small Impossible things without damaging! • I feel this covers all the major bases and is an excellent Vacuum I have waited several years for. Simple, slim, intelligent, and still cannot believe it runs over an hour and always always finds its way home to reboot and APPS have no become way overrated and a pain in the butt! Eufy Compared To Ultra Smart $$$$ Vacs: • I have owned 7 Smart Robotic Vacuums; the highest priced being the “Ultra Smart” Neato (returned after nearly a month of nonsense) with Home Mapping Technology at $1K. Sorry, the bigger, thicker, wider, and SMARTER it claims to be in my experience the more dumb it is. It becomes more of a chore meaning you have to reset the map every single time you move something and they are so thick they can cannot get all the dust and debris under furniture like Eufy does effortlessly. • Eufy cleans for 100 mins & always and I mean always finds its way home (something I was always promised, but they never returned even when commanded) so you can truly set a cleaning schedule! • While most all Smart Vac’s claim to dock and charge on their yet ALWAYS alert you over and over that they are stuck or have to be searched for with app, yet, Eufy is always obedient and doesn’t even need that function!I have only seen Eco Vacs find its way home 2x in 3 years now after 3 models (of that brand), Neato never, Dyson Eye never ever again! • It is proven that Vacuums that run in straight carpet lines are less efficient at cleaning. Hard to believe, but random has proven to out clean the $1,000 USD Plus Vacs. • If I had known it’d always do a no nonsense cleaning without me having to follow it I would’ve withdrew doubt and ordered 2 at $143. • Eufy keeps it Simple, Sleek, Very Slim (gets under virtually EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you can imagine compared to Neato and other very high priced Robo Vacuums that cannot even get under a platform bed and other low profile furniture meaning dust will continue to pile up). One Con (maybe I missed it) no phone app to control while away. If so DO NOT LOSE THE REMOTE. I may be wrong. I am writing a review after a 3 day trip that I set a cleaning schedule to VERY IMPRESSIVELY FIND EUFY Nearly FULL BIN Scheduled to clean once a day while away FOR 3 DAYS (house is always clean) and sitting at its docking station. An Easy 5-Stars Buy Eufy and forget the hype over these Ultra “Dumb” expensive Vacs that do Nothing, but turn you into a Vacuum Babysitter! I would seriously have to follow a $400-1k vacuum around. Yes, this is a huge deal to me after never having this experience with purchasing so many Ultra Smart crazy expensive vacuums. If you are sick of babysitting your smart cleaning devices this simple, slim, chic vacuum is the Answer! Update August 15th 2019 WOW this would be 10 stars if the option was available! The sensory oddly seems to have improved. Has now problem cleaning BIG messes. Eufy has a crazy “hop” and still intelligent enough to avoid my sheep rugs that insanely fluffy and vacuuming is forbidden for care. Perfect. It does not flip, move around very thin rugs, or get stuck under them a common issue with super expensive smart Robo Vacuums! It continues to impress! I pick this Eufy over all of my ultra Smart experiences. I could careless about apps! The remote is great and if lost it automatically turns on with a press to it’s Mac suction and gets the job done better than iRobot, Neato, Dyson Eye, several ECOVACS Pro’s, etc.. Save your money, time, and hassle of the Smart (dumb) options. I no longer have to follow an over-priced Robo around, get alerts it’s stuck, haven’t had to use a smart beeping tracker to track it down. It buy far has the best built-in features to schedule and forget. The only TRUE robotic vacuum you do not have to even think about turn on or schedule and forget about. The only thing it’s missing is to dump itself out! Mind blown! Finally, a Robo Vac that does exactly what you’d expect. Forget the hype or when your over all the overpriced Vac’s you WILL return or just die on you save this! Only then will you truly see the beauty of simple effective cleaning that you don’t have to babysit! Why buy a new robotic vacuum when Anker's Eufy has an easy (not hidden) inexpensive battery? Otherwise with other brands you FORCED to buy a whole new unit! eufy RoboVac Replacement Battery Pack, Compatible with RoboVac 11S, 11S MAX, 15T, 30, 30C MAX, 15C, 15C MAX, 12, 35C Accessory Save or 1-click buy for the BEST you will find! ... show more

The Eufy Robovac 30 is a wonderful little vacuum! It has far surpassed my expectations. After replacing carpet with dark hardwood floors in most of our 2400 sq. ft. home, I was finding it difficult to keep the dust bunnies at bay. I didn’t know anything about robot vacuums so I went online to do some research. I considered a lot of different brands but what caught my eye about the Robovac 30 was a combination of the positive customer service comments, price, and boundary strips. We have a combination of hardwood, low-medium shag carpet, vinyl, and tile. I was pleased to see that the Eufy Robovac 30 was reported to be effective on all of these surfaces and I have not been disappointed in the Robovac 30’s performance in my home. I was so happy about the effectiveness of my Robovac 30 and the amount of time it saved me that I encouraged my daughter to try it in her home for a few days to see if she would like me to get her one for Christmas. My daughter and son-in-law live in a 2-story home and have 2 indoor cats. After using my Robovac 30 she was sold so I ordered them one for Christmas. The Robovac 30 works wonderfully in her home keeping it free of cat fur. They have a combination of light wood, tile, and carpet. It cleans everything except the stairs. Her Robovac 30 did fall down the stairs once but she said she now leaves on a light and it has never fallen again. She also only cleans when she is at home and does not schedule cleanings. She has had her Robovac 30 since Christmas 2018 and it is still performing well. After about 10.5 months, my Eufy Robovac 30 began turning itself on and cleaning at random, making a really loud grinding sound when cleaning rugs and maneuvering over transition pieces, and it seemed to get confused and clean in circles or keep going over the same area again and again. I cleaned my Robovac 30 thoroughly, replaced the side brushes and cleaning brush, and cleaned the sensors but it continued to be much less effective and noisy. After trying different things for about 3 weeks, I called Eufy customer service, and talked to a representative who was extremely polite and helpful. She asked me a few questions and had me try a couple of things. She then stated that it should not be acting that way and I was sent a replacement in a few days. She did ask me to write a review discussing my experience. I have waited several weeks before reviewing my replacement Robovac 30 since I wanted to see how the new machine works. Something I noticed with both Robovac 30s, they seem to clean better and transitions more easily through the house after 2-3 weeks of use. They both seemed to stay in one area and not move easily from once type of flooring to another at the beginning. After several weeks, I am very pleased with my replacement Robovac 30. Features and Comments: -Running time – On hardwood floors with different size area rugs, my Robovac 30 will clean for between 90 – 105 minutes when fully charged. Running time is less on carpeted areas. For reference, I section off my house into small areas since I like to clean each area thoroughly. It takes 2 full charges to clean my entire house. -Thoroughness of cleaning – I can’t believe how thoroughly this vacuum cleans. It is truly amazing. I used to vacuum my floors with a canister vacuum and then Swiffer with dry cloths before mopping. Now I just run the Robovac 30 while doing something else and then mop. Amazing! I also love that it will clean under most of my furniture, especially under the beds. -Finding its way back to the docking station – I only use my vacuum when I am at home due to the fact that I still have some area rugs with fringe and long drapes that puddle on the floor in some areas. Also, my elderly mother lives with us and I am afraid that she might trip over the vacuum if I am not there to supervise. Therefore, I use the boundary strips to block off certain areas so that I know where the vacuum is at all times. If the Robovac 30 is able to get to the docking station when its battery starts running low, it does an amazing job of docking; however, I typically just pick it up and return it once I hear it slowing down. -Remote and scheduling cleanings– I don’t often use the remote and never schedule it to clean for the reasons mentioned above. The few times I have used the remote, I have been mostly pleased. It works wonderfully for spot and edge cleaning. I will occasionally use the manual cleaning to direct the Robovac 30 to a certain area but for me it is faster to pick it up and move it rather than using the remote. I have never scheduled a cleaning so I can’t comment on that feature. -Boundary strips – I love the boundary strips since we have a very open floor plan and they easily allow me to block off certain areas and confine the Robovac 30. Due to convenience, my floor plan, different floor textures, some rooms getting more use than others, and my mother’s safety, I section off my house into segments of about 300 sq. ft. to clean at a time. This way I can target the rooms that get used the most and are therefore need extra cleaning, keep the Robovac 30 out of rooms that have clutter or things that need to be removed, and know where it is at all times. I also feel that the rooms are more thoroughly cleaned. If not confined, the Robovac 30 will randomly move throughout the house and some areas may not get cleaned before the battery dies. I have cut and taped sections of the boundary strips to yard sticks and use these to block off areas. The Robovac 30 won’t run over the magnetic strips but it can push the yard stick across the floor, so it is necessary to either place the yard stick in a doorway so that the door frame prevents the yard stick from being pushed through the door or place something heavy either on or behind the yard stick so it can’t be moved. It is then easy to store the yard sticks standing up in a closet and have them ready to lay down each time they are needed. -Babysitting – Since I remove items that the Robovac 30 can get tangled in, I rarely have to rescue it. -Cleaning the Robovac 30/maintenance – Cleaning is easy but it is necessary to do so on the recommended schedule. After cleaning each area that I have sectioned off in my house, I empty the dust bin. This may not be necessary but cleaning effectiveness will be decreased if the bin is allowed to get too full and it is amazing how fast it can fill up. I don’t consider this a flaw in the Robovac 30, but a fact applying to all robot vacuums. I did originally have difficulty removing the roller ball to clean it. To easily remove the roller ball, use a small pair of needle-nosed pliers. Gently squeeze the pliers on the sides of the roller and pull straight up. This does not take a lot of force and works well. -Customer service – Excellent! I was shocked that I received such courteous customer service and a new vacuum when my original Robovac 30’s warranty was due to expire in less than a month. The replacement vacuum came with a 90 day warranty instead of a full year, but that is understandable. -Replacement parts – All replacement parts (side brushes, filters, etc.) are easily purchased from Amazon. Overall, I am very pleased with my Eufy Robovac 30 and would purchase again! ... show more

  • The best model to get for under $300
I have spent weeks researching robotic vacuums. After comparing and contrasting different models from big-name brands like iRobot, iLife, Eufy, etc, I figured this would be a good budget vacuum. I bought this a few weeks ago and have been using it. Here are my thoughts. Build/Physique: This is a very sturdy unit. It has the classic round shape other robotic vacuums have. It weighs a few pounds but isn't too heavy. It's big enough where it can suck up a good amount of dirt, but not so big where it can't get underneath things like tables, but chairs can be a bit of a different story. Setup: Setup is easy. I just followed the instructions and put everything together as described/shown. Controls: What’s nice about this vacuum is that you can control it with a physical remote (that comes with it) or the Eufy app on your smartphone. The app has slightly more functionality than the remote, but it’s trivial depending on your needs (see below). I don't personally need the app, but I can see why it would be convenient. Some folks may want to run the vacuum while they're away from their house. Maintenance: Remember, the only robotic part about the vacuum is its ability to scour your house and suck up dirt and muck. It is not a self-maintaining machine. That being said, emptying the dustbin is simple -- you just press a button, release the bin, unfold it, and dump it out. The filter is also easy to pop in and out. If I'm not mistaken, there are one or two filters that are washable, along with some disposable ones. Cleaning the roller brush and the side brushes is also very easy, and there are extra side brushes that come with the unit. If you need more, you can order individual parts or a kit that (I believe) 8 side brushes, one or two roller brushes, and some filters (sorry, I don't know the quantities). Performance: This is where the fun begins. If you're not familiar with how robotic vacuums operate, here's a quick breakdown -- models like this one and many of the lower-end machines just blindly roam around and pick up whatever they find. More expensive units have navigational systems that allow them to map your house and create a floor plan so it knows where it is, where it's been, and where it hasn't been. Both WILL vacuum well, but the higher-end vacuums perform more efficiently. This vacuum roams around blindly, and it can be very frustrating to watch it move sporadically around your house. I also own an iRobot Roomba 980 which does have the mapping capabilities, so it covers the same amount of space in far less time. All this being said, however, it does have great suction and picks up things very well, including dog hair. I have a medium-sized yellow lab that sheds profusely, and it manages to suck up the hair very well off of hardwood floors. It also manages low-pile carpets well, too. Don't get this vacuum (or any robotic vacuum for that matter) if you're planning on vacuuming deep carpets, especially if you're trying to get dog hair out. Make sure that you pick up loose wires or any obstructions on the floor. These vacuums need as little interference from objects as much as possible. If you do forget to pick up a wire off of the floor, the vacuum has a feature where if it accidentally sucks it up, it will recognize it is a wire and drop it after a few seconds and move on. My Roomba 980 doesn't do that (to my knowledge). In general, it does well with not getting itself stuck. I have a pretty large divider that separates my kitchen floor from my dining room floor (about 3/4 of an inch), and it manages to get over the hump easily. Another nifty feature the vacuum has is cliff detection, so if it approaches stairs, it will not fall down them and get damaged; however, there's a drawback to this. If the vacuum encounters carpeting that is dark, the it might think it's seeing black and not continue to clean that area, so it'll move away. Stray away from dark-colored carpets if you can. It may bump into things from time to time, but there won't be any scratches on the unit. It has a bumper on it that will receive the impact of any collisions it has with objects it finds. There are three suction power settings, escalating in power from 1 to 3. You can adjust with the remote and I would assume the app. It even beeps the number correlating to the suction power when you press the button, so 1 beep for suction power 1 (or the lowest setting), 2 beeps for suction power 2 (or the medium setting), etc. If something goes wrong, it will beep in patterns, and you can check what error message is being denoted. I also like this feature, and the beeps are pretty loud, too. The unit is fairly quiet. You can clearly hear when it's on, but it makes a fraction of the noise a regular vacuum makes. This would be good for people who work from home but want to run the vacuum. Other vacuums (including Eufy's 30C) has a feature known as boundary strips or virtual walls. These are devices, or magnetic strips in Eufy's case, that send out a signal that prevent the vacuum from crossing a certain point/line. If you didn't want the vacuum to enter a certain area of your living room, you'd just have to put down one of the strips/set one of the walls at that area to prevent it from entering that area. The 15C Max does NOT have this feature, which I personally enjoy and would prefer to have, but, like having a regular vacuum, you're going to have be tidier if you want the vacuum to run without any problems/hiccups. You can also schedule the vacuum to run at certain times, which can only be done through the app. This feature is meant for folks I mentioned earlier that want to run the vacuum while they're not home. The app also shows you the current state of the vacuum: whether it's in standby mode (which just means it's docked and turned on), cleaning, and offline. Battery Life: At a full charge, I managed to get about an hour and a half (90 minutes) worth of a cleaning cycle out of it at the highest suction power. Eufy claims you can get up to 100 minutes at a full charge, so I'd say this checks out. The extremely convenient feature of this vacuum is that it is self-docking, which means if you press the power/home button on the remote or app (or if the unit's battery is low), it will stop cleaning and return to the charging base all on its own. It does behave strangely if the base isn't in a clear location/up against a strong-walled surface. So, make sure you don't have anything blocking the path for the vacuum to get to the base, and ensure that the base is firmly against a wall. This is easily one of my favorite things about this unit. The Bottom line: For $280, this vacuum rocks. You won't find a more powerful machine. It has some great features like painless setup, automatic self-docking charging, auditory suction power and error codes, cliff detection, compact size, a great battery life, powerful suction, flexible control devices (remote/app), easy maintenance, scheduling/automation, and cheap replacement components for order. There are certainly some drawbacks like darker carpets interfering with cliff detection, randomized roaming that doesn't make sense, and no boundary strips, but again, consider an iRobot Roomba 980 whose price is currently $900 as of 07/21/2019. It does have mapping and virtual boundaries, but you need to consider the significant price hike comparing these two particular models. Is it worth three times what this unit costs to pay for a machine that does have those features? This is in no way an insult to iRobot, but not everybody can just drop nearly a grand on most things, especially a vacuum. Take it from me who has a machine capable of efficient navigation. I'm glad I got both and was able to test them out. Watching the 15C Max after using the Roomba 980 is painful. But again, three times the price. The Eufy is still very powerful and picks up dirt/hair great. The Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 15C Max performs very well and has plenty of awesome features with just a few drawbacks, and I truly believe you won't find a better robotic vacuum for under $300. ... show more

  • It's great once you realign your expectations
UPDATE: Changed my rating from five to three stars. I set it to run overnight while I’m asleep. It keeps ignoring the magnetic strips that shipped with it (that are supposed to signal to the device to not go any further), and has gotten itself stuck under the sofa four consecutive nights as a result. This means I have to go fetch it, and I wake up to un-vacuumed floors. It’s incredibly frustrating. I think buying a robot vacuum you come into it with unrealistic expectations, which I realized I would have to quickly readjust. Namely: -You should use an actual vacuum to vacuum your floor *before* using the RoboVac for the first time. It gives it a better baseline to work from. -The RoboVac works best when you use it for *daily* maintenance rather than "Oh, it's been a week or four and I need to vacuum". -Is your couch lifted a few inches off the ground? The RoboVac can probably get underneath it. And it probably can't get out. Block it from ever getting under there in the first place. THE GOOD ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– -It does a nice job once you have the floors at a maintenance level. -It's actually quieter than I expected. -Watching this thing find its way "home" to the charging station is pretty cool. -I caught this on sale for around $180, which seems like a very reasonable price to pay to not have to vacuum my downstairs again. -Mine does the entire downstairs, including the kitchen (bare floor) and the living room (carpeted). It transitions seamlessly between rooms despite there being a small bump in between the two. -There's a manual mode where you can control it with a device. For some reason this tickles me. -It's very easy to disassemble the cleaning bits to get all the hair and gunk out. Eufy even includes a nice little cleaning tool to brush everything out, and to cut the hair that will inevitably be tangled around the roller. I'm able to tear down the moving parts and filter and clean them out in just 2-3 minutes. -The battery on this thing is a champion! RoboVac has had no problem covering my entire ground floor. It took several hours to charge, but since I only run it once a day this isn't a problem worth mentioning. -If you want RoboVac to vacuum a room on its floor, just leave the door open. If you don't, close the door. It's really that simple. THINGS I WISH I'D KNOWN ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– -Mine filled up halfway through its first run because I didn't vacuum with a full size vacuum first. It just couldn't keep up with the volume of a truly messy carpet like a larger model could. I hope they add this note to the future instructions, as I would have happily vacuumed first before letting this maintain the floors. -You do need to make a recurring note to remember to empty the debris tray each day (if you're letting it run each day). -If you have a pet, you may need to "punish" the robot so your fur family knows they're higher in the pecking order. I wish I was kidding. We found it simpler to just program RoboVac to run overnight since the dogs are upstairs with us. -The magnetic boundary strips weren't as effective for us because what we needed was to block the RoboVac from going under the couch (which is on carpet). I ended up putting leftover 2x4s under the edges of the couch, with the magnetic strips pushed against them. That finally kept RoboVac out from under there. -You should spend some time "RoboVac-proofing" your floors. As an example: We have dogs, and I have to make a mental note to make sure their toys are all put up at the end of the night so the vacuum doesn't think they're walls. Other things to watch out for are cables sticking out onto the floor, loose shoelaces, and the fringes on the edges of floor rugs. Basically: If you'd move it before using a full size vacuum, move it for RoboVac too. FINAL VERDICT ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– So far it's been great, especially for the price (on sale for $180). It's doing a very good job keeping the floors at a maintenance mode (it's nice being able to walk barefoot in the house without feeling any grit under your feet). There was a learning curve in terms of updating my behavior (remembering to keep the floors clear of hazards, and emptying the tray each day), but it's a very small price to pay to never have to vacuum a floor of your house again. The battery is excellent (this company is a division of Anker, so no surprise there) and has more than enough juice to intelligently run for an hour or more. I'm slightly concerned about the long term costs of maintenance, but I have the same challenges with my full size vacuum. The remote is a very nice touch, and really simplifies your interaction with RoboVac. And do yourself a favor: Play with the manual mode once or twice :) ... show more

  • Eufy would not run . . . and then, boy, did she!
I plugged it in. The light blinked orange for a couple hours, indicating that shewas charging, the light turned blue, indicating she was charged. I pushed the button for her to start cleaning. She beeped. The light blinked orange, indicating that she was charging (for an hour or so), the light turned blue, indicating she was charged. I used the remote to get her to start cleaning. She beeped. The light blinked orange, indicating that she was charging (for an hour or so), the light turned blue, indicating she was charged. I was getting nowhere. Eufy did not run . . . due to operator error. Operator error occurred because my vision is so poor from cataracts that I could not see the on/off button in the instructions, nor on the bottom of the unit. I did manage to feel around this morning until I found the toggle. Happy days! Eufy worked like a dream . . . quiet enough not to be disturbing and purring loudly enough that I was aware of where she was when I was in or near the room where she was working. I vacuumed the house a couple of days ago with my regular vacuum and dragged a damp microfiber mop over the floor. Then, for the test, I set Eufy loose. I have a long-haired cat . . . and my hair is long as well, so I thought I should probably check the dust bin after about 20 minutes since she'd been working under my bed, where the cat hangs out. (The cat is not sure if Eufy is acceptable or not, but at least she isn't tearing to the other end of the house like she does with the big vacuum.) The bin was FULL. This is not an indictment of the bin. The unit is small and fits very well under most of my furniture. So does my cat, who sheds a lot. So do I (I shed a lot . . .but, I don't fit under the furniture.) The brush was matted with cat hair and with strands of my hair. I removed the brush, cleaned it, and replaced it. By the time Eufy ran her full cycle and docked herself (I could tell she was REALLY tired), I had emptied the bin three times . . . and I know she's holding another full load. Cleaning the brush and emptying the bin emptying are intuitive and easy, and the handy cleaning brush really helps defuzz the roller brush. I figure it's going to take a few times of running her before I get all the cat hair under control. Then, I'll have to figure out how frequently I need to run her for maintenance mode. I will say that one of the reasons I got this unit is because I am a gardener. Every time I come in the house, I bring in dirt from the garden. I have rugs by the doors to catch some of it, but it invariably gets tracked through the house on the tile floors and, even worse, the bamboo floors. Sand and finished hardwood don't mix . . . I might have my floors sanded down to get refinished, but I don't need them sanded every day. Anyway, by the time I got through the house to the shower and got myself cleaned up, I had a major vacuuming job to do . . . but I was already exhausted from working in the yard. I can see it now. Walk in from the garden and push Eufy's start button as I head to the shower. YAY! I expect both my yard and my house will improve out of this one. As for the complaints about Eufy "skipping rooms," I found an easy fix on that one . . . or maybe a couple of easy fixes.I know certain areas of my house need deeper or more thorough cleaning than others. Today , I picked up everything on the floor in my daughter's room (chairs, waste basket, etc.), then put Eufy on the floor in the room, turned her on, shut the door, and set the stove timer for 20 minutes. Figured she would do a pretty thorough job on a "cleared" 10 by 13 room in 20 minutes. She did . . . after she had done my living room, sitting room, kitchen, breakfast nook, office and some of the family room. She's charging now. I'm going to "clear" the office and give her a second chance at that . . . and the same with the family room, blocking that off as well. Anyway, other than closed doors, I was thinking about cutting the stopper strips in various lengths and just placing these strips on the floor in doorways or at room transitions temporarily to force Eufy to focus on particular rooms or areas. (The family room itself will probably take a full half hour and it is more likely that Eufy will do a thorough job if I can clear some of the floor items to an adjacent room and if she doesn't have the option of wandering off to do my bedroom. (I did find I had to tuck in the bedskirts to get her to go under the bed. Guess she was afraid of the dark.) The strips are NOT something I want to stick to my bamboo floors . . . and are unsightly on my white tile, but I would think they would probably still work even if they weren't stuck down. I do have one safety concern. When Eufy is off "cleaning," what happens if my cat happens to lie down on the nice, warm charger? Or if my grandson is crawling on the floor and rolls a metal truck over the contacts or sits on it? I don't want to short the unit out testing to see if it's "live." It needs to be plugged in for Eufy to find her way "home," and I'm using the time that Eufy is vacuuming to attend to other chores (I'm not sitting and watching the charger) so are those two shiny, silver, child-attractive contacts a shock risk? Anyone have any knowledge on this? I suggested to the Eufy Company that they make the easy start instructions available on its website so that older customers, whose eyesight is failing, might be able to increase the image size to something readable. The lines on the drawings are delicate, making the details very hard to see for old eyes. Many of us can still see SOME, but many of us need letters and pictures larger and bolder than what came with the unit. Perhaps, the company could even make a large print guide available upon phone request for those who do not use computers. The elderly market, OMG! Our adult children are busy with careers and raising children, so they need this kind of help. Older people? Our joints don't like hauling around big vacuum cleaners. We don't get down on our hands and knees as easily as we used to--or at least we don't get up as well. We don't have the energy we used to have. And, many retirees that I know are busier now than when they were working--caring for grandchildren, helping their even-more-elderly parents, starting a second career, or putting a lot of time into volunteer work. So, I'm a happy camper. I didn't have to pull out the heavy vacuum today and by the end of the day, I will have made a BIG impact on "defuzzing" the house. I've got this in mind for 3 people as a Christmas present. I just hope Eufy has a long and healthy life. Moving a little furniture to help her out . . . not a problem. Go for it, Eufy! ... show more
