Love it! I'm newish to sourdough baking and love this pan. I find it easier to load the dough and remove the bread than I do in my when using my traditional Dutch oven. The bread bakes well with great rise and beautiful color. The base of the pan worked perfectly when I baked a small pizza with a sourdough crust. Somewhere between watching steam rise from a fresh 12-grain boule and hearing the crack of crust as it cooled, I realized this pot had officially joined the short list of things I’d grab in a house fire. Let’s start with the color: deep, rich blue with just the right amount of enamel gloss to feel like you have your life together — or at least like you're trying. It sits on the stove like it owns the place, and honestly? It kind of does. Now the performance: I use this primarily for bread, specifically a homemade 12-grain boule that I pretend is rustic and wholesome but is really just my ADHD therapy project in edible form. This Dutch oven nails it every time. The size (6 quarts) is perfect — not too cavernous, not too shallow. Just enough to let your dough rise into the kind of round, radiant loaf that says: yes, I do read ingredient labels, and no, I’m not going back to store-bought. Heat distribution? Even. Steam retention? Excellent. Cleaning? Surprisingly chill, as long as you don’t treat it like a steel pan from 1994. It’s sturdy without being a wrist injury. It holds heat like it’s personal. And it does all of this without the premium price tag that usually comes with cookware that has a French name and generational baggage. I haven’t made chili in it yet, but let’s not kid ourselves — that’s only because I’m still too focused on baking loaves and pretending I’m in a cottagecore montage. Final note: if you’re on the fence, wondering if you need a dedicated bread pot — you do. This one. Right here. Skip the influencer-stamped $400 ones and go with this hardworking, beautiful beast that just quietly delivers. This isn’t a purchase. It’s a culinary turning point.

This is a nice quality and the color is stunning. I don't keep much on my countertops but this dutch oven resides on my kitchen island like a sculpture because the color looks so nice in my home. I cook with a lot of cast iron and outside of the weight, this is my preferred bakeware. Everyone who visits asks about the dutch oven. It's perfect for bread making which is all I use it for. Cast iron is absolutely superior for even baking and ease of cleanup. Forget about carbon steel or even stainless. If you're not cooking with cast iron you're missing out. I'm 60 yo old and started using cast iron only 3 years ago. I could kick myself for not using it sooner. Buy this!

I am THRILLED with this bread cloche. The lid sits on the base firmly and securely--no wobbling or gaps. I've had some of my best loaves of bread since using this. In the past, I've used other dutch ovens (including Lodge and Le Creuset) as well as a baking stone with a pan of water for steam. This cloche is my favorite by far. I don't always like buying expensive things that have only one purpose, but this was worth it, and I bake bread about 1x/week, so it's definitely getting a workout. The blue is a beautiful blue ombre. Very soothing.

Baked my first loaf in this tonight, as soon as it arrived!! I love this dutch oven so much already! Update: I do notice that the ceramic bottom does seem to change color or “get burnt” when using high temperatures. It still works great, however, if you can look past the brown marks!
