  • Solid Charger – Hardwire It for Best Results
Style: NEMA 14-50 Plug J1772 (WH)
The Emporia Level 2 charger works great and charges our EV much faster than expected. The app is easy to use and makes scheduling simple. We ended up hardwiring it instead of using the plug, which made a big difference in performance and reliability. Installation was smooth, and the charger feels well built with a sturdy cable. Overall, a great value compared to other brands and highly recommended. ... show more

  • Well made, works perfectly from day one!
Style: Hardwired J1772 (WH)
Charger installation went off without any problems (assuming you have all the infrastructure in place!). The app is intuitive and it is neat to monitor charging in real time, be able to schedule (if you cannot do this from your car).

  • Simple device with excellent support
Style: NEMA 14-50 Plug J1772 (WH)
Emporia is a company that stands behind their products. This is rare nowadays, and I believe you can buy an EVSE from this company and count on excellent and communicative customer service and support after purchase. The unit I purchased did have an issue, and Emporia was excellent to work with when I contacted them seeking support. Everything was completely resolved to my satisfaction and I came away from the whole interaction highly impressed with the company. I would definitely do business with them again! Of course, the unit will charge your car. It is simple and easy to work with. I love the straightforward design and basic functions on the EVSE - no nonsense, no silly additional features that seem interesting at first and then you never use again, no extra bits to malfunction. Just plug and chug - I got an electric car to save money and simplify my life, and this EVSE helps me with that goal. I would absolutely recommend the purchase to anyone with an electric vehicle. ... show more

  • Great charger, great price, great connectivity
Style: Hardwired J1772 (BLK)
This is a great L2 charger, I’ve been using it for a month. It works amazingly fast and reliably. I easily connected it to my utility company and got a rebate monthly and for the install. I highly recommend this charger.

  • The Best EV charger regardless of price & best business EVSE.
Style: Hardwired J1772 (WH)
I'm a knowledgeable EV owner. I've been installing EVSEs for our cars and trucks since 2013 at both residential and commercial sites. I've been using these Emporia EVSE systems alongside other brands: Both kinds of Tesla, (80a and newer 48a) The Rivian EVSE that is included with truck The Bosch systems The GM OEM systems Various JuiceBox models Various ClipperCreek Jaguar OEM, and probably more I now run mostly Emporia systems for the last 3+ years. Easy to install, easy to troubleshoot. Excellent Tech Support, and they stand by their warranty without a fight. The interactive cell phone application allows you to customize multiple chargers and other devices. If you get the Emporia Vue energy monitoring system, you can do things like - use only solar power to charge, turn on and off 120v devices to control load, set Demand Limits for the entire address, not just the charger(s). Example - Say your utility charges ultra high rates if you exceed 20kW of demand (yes Edison, I'm trash talking you!). Your Emporia system with Vue can charge your EVs at the maximum rate possible, and even shut down electric devices that would push you over the 20kW limit when you are NOT charging your car! Let's say your utility charges you money for making too much power, you can siphon off solar surplus into your EVs, or even nerf your solar output if you are really clever. Time of Use mapping is simple, everything has it now, as does EMPORIA. Without any exaggeration at all, my Emporia chargers have saved my business over $30,000 in SCE Demand Based Tariff fees in the last 3 years. For home users, lets say you have only 1 circuit that you can charge EVs from because your house has a low total amp panel. The Emporias can charge multiple cars at the highest possible without exceeding your amperage limits. Example - You have a 100 amp house and 2 EVs with Emporia chargers. You can pick which car charges faster than the other, and when your AC, Oven, Drier, etc, kick on, the Emporia will lower the EV charging rate until there is more available current. Or, if you have a ultra-expensive 4-9pm window (yup SCE, talking about you), you can not only temporarily stop EV charging and restart at 9pm, you can also turn off other household loads at 4-9pm. Downside? IIRC, it won't allow Teslas to charge at 277 vac last I checked. Yes, you can get it with a Tesla NACS cable now! To do the advanced functions like Demand Limiting, you should use a licensed electrician with EXPERIENCE working with 'smart home' or Emporia systems, because you will need to go into the panel to put the VUE inductive monitors on. I did all this myself because I know a lot about EVSEs and electrical building codes. I was going to include more pictures, but I have no idea why Amazon blocks or doesn't pictures. They wipe out your review if they don't like one of your pictures, and I don't want to type everything again and again. ... show more
