A cleaner, healthier, more comfortable bedding designed specifically for small animals and birds! Eco-bedding is 100% recycled paper. The unique and patented process of cutting and folding paper strips makes for an excellent bedding material. Eco-bedding is highly absorbent, easily compostable and completely dust free, solving the problem of inhalant irritations or allergies. Since eco-bed/nest absorbs from the bottom up, the top layer stays dry longer and animals are always on a dry surface. East to spot clean. Eco-bed/nest extends bedding changes from every two to three days to a week or more. Eco-bed/nest holds up to 3.1 times its weight in water. Eco-bed/nest is made of cleanly cut 1/8-inch strips of paper fibers, which means dust is virtually eliminated. Respiratory ailments and other problems resulting from airborne particles are drastically reduced which is important for animals or birds with sensitive respiratory systems. Great for asthma & allergy sufferers (people, animals and birds). The paper strands form a soft, springy, comfortable mat. The bedding in contact with the animal stays dry, as well, for added comfort. Plus, unlike wood-based beddings, eco-bed/nest won't stick to the animals. Can be used as a top layer on other beddings that pack down (shavings, pellets, etc.). Because eco-bed/nest stays "fluffed-up". Also, animals can burrow and tunnel in it. Safe for breeding animals and birds and is not a choking hazard. Unlike harvested beddings such as wood and straw, eco-bed/nest is a controlled, manufactured product made up of 100% recycled paper fibers to ensure consistent, high quality. Elimination of airborne dust means fewer particles to filter and control, resulting in fewer filter changes. Eco-bed/nest appeals to rodents' and birds' urge to build nests. This is the best gerbil bedding ever. It was recommended on a respected gerbil breeders website so I bought it even though it seemed expensive. Well, it turned out to be a great value. For a 40 gallon tank it only took around 1/5 of a bag. This stuff fluffs up so you need much less than you think. I ended up having to remove some because the volume was too great the first time round so the second time I got smart and put in less than I thought. We mixed it with some aspen and Timothy hay. The next day we added one more handful of Fibrecore to create enough for burrowing. This is the best burrowing material ever. The gerbils love it. Been through - literally - every type of bedding available with guinea pigs and now gerbils. This stuff is simply crinkled pieces of recycled paper, but it's awesome for a few reasons: 1. there is NO DUST, none - some brands say there isn't but there is, this is paper, there is no dust at all, ever 2. this stuff is totally absorbent, but has no smell, and allows for very little smell if you keep up on cleanings 3. it is easy to clean up. with pine I used to use a scoop, and carefresh would get clumpy. this is a breeze. 4. this stuff goes a LONG way - do not be put off bag the bag/box. Gerbils have a 40 gallon tank and even when I create a THIN layer they move it around and "sculpt" it to their liking and it ends up being more than I needed (i.e. those crinkles make the paper expandable, and eventually these creatues will make it expand when they dig and move it around) 5. recycled 6. ironically, my wife has many allergies and this is the only bedding that didn't bother her (nevermind the pets) Recommend very highly. ... show more

After trying several bedding products that claimed to be 99% dust free (and were still too dusty) the eco bedding has been the only completely 100% dust free bedding I have found. My little mice love to burrow through this and never get watery eyes which the dust in other products have caused. I only have to clean their bins once a month (every 3wks in humid weather) before there starts to be an unpleasant smell. I have 2 males and 1 female all in their own bins so the price is very good value. I clean their spinners (like a wheel) every day and wipe any urine that splatters on the bin wall. ... show more

I’ve had my ratties for 2 years and in this time I’ve tried pretty much every type of bedding you can think of, all claiming to be “dust free”. NONE of them come close to this product! It is paper, so absorbency isn’t amazing but as long as you do spot cleans daily this bedding will be perfect.

My rats absolutely love piling these crinkles into their houses. I don't use this product as a floor covering, but it's a must-have for all critters that like to burrow in piles of cozies. I also made a burrowing tank for their cage and filled the whole five gallons with these crinkles. The rats love snuggling down in the bedding, digging for treats, and dragging mouthfuls of crinkles from the tank into their wooden houses. I've had so much fun watching them enjoy this product. I will always make sure to keep these in stock in my home! They do tend to fall out of the bars of their cage, so I find myself picking, sweeping, and vacuuming them up, but this is the life of a small pet owner and the extra clean-up doesn't bother me. Great bedding! I have 2 rats and I switch their bedding around to find what works best for them and my wallet. I found this one and it works wonderful! As it says, there really is no dust which works great for critters and people with sensitivities. It does have some drawbacks as other people are saying, they are like to stick together which makes it slightly more difficult to place in their cages and it seemed like it did make a bigger mess around their cage as clumps and bits of the bedding are found on the floor more intensely than other bedding have done. It does okay on the smell, it does not seem to control the odor too well but enough that it can compete with other paper bedding with fragrances and such. Overall however, the bedding does its job pretty well, my rats seem to like it, and they can push it around as they please. It's easy to clean and is at a decent price. I wanted something safe to put on top of my two parrots top play trays to absorb droppings, that wouldn't 'fly' all over the place. Newspaper was just chewed up and thrown on the floor. This stuff is amazing. The crinkled texture of it sort of 'locks' the pieces together to form sort of a mat. It absorbs bird droppings very well, and stays put! I am very happy with it. This is hands down the best bedding I have found for my rats. Like alot of people , I realized that all those other products which claim to have little to no dust (carefresh etc) were the culprit behind my babies sneezing (and they sneezed constantly, like another reviewer here I though it was mycoplasmosis at first, but no, just false advertisment. Clean up is extremly easy and a little goes a long way. Another reviewer was also correct however with how difficult it is to get those little pieces that fall out the cage and onto the floor. I use a big pan on the bottom of the cage for this very reason. But thats my sole compliant. This bedding saved my babies. ... show more
