I must admit Hubby had to tinker with it and figure out how to put it together. Once he got it together he smoked the meat with special chips that he got. The meat came out great. He really enjoyed using it. Said it worked great and is easy to carry around and store. Overall nice portable smoker.

Awesome portable smoker!! Use on any heat source. Super easy to use....put it together, put some pellets on the bottom, start the heat source, put the rack in and the food on it, close the lid and let it go!! I have done chicken, pork belly, ribs and a tri tip. All came out great!!! Highly recommend!!

After receiving the smoker, I took time to assemble it at home and was immediately impressed by both the design and materials used. This device is both robust and simple, which suits me pretty well. First outing was a fishing/hunting trip in Australia's emote East Gippsland, camped around a fire. A mate caught a lovely tailor...known as a bluefish in the states...it was cleaned and placed on the rack. I pulled a nice bed of coals from the fire and placed the EasyGoSmoker on top, with a spoonful of casuarina shavings (Australian hardwood) popped in through the side portal/window. I happily watched a lovely little column of smoke continue to lift out through the small hole in the centre of the smoker, while keeping an eye on the thermometer. Two beers later I took the lid off the EasyGoSmoker and was incredibly impressed at the sight of a magnificently hot smoked fish. Peeling the skin off, I savoured the first couple of mouthfuls of succulent sweet and delicately smoked fish. The crew I camped with were stunned with the ease of use and the end result. The fish was shared around and enjoyed by everyone. No one in that group had ever had fresh smoked fish before...smoking foods just isn't common in our part of the world...but the ease of use and quality of the food created instant fans!!! Our trout season started the first weekend in September and I bought home a lovely 2 1/2 lb brown trout, with lovely pink/orange flesh, he'd been living on yabbies (crawfish for those from north America). He was cleaned on site and kept whole. As it was only a day trip into the rugged Snowy River country of Australia's Great Dividing Range with my youngest son, we put Mr Brown straight into the car fridge and took him home. Once home, I put the EasyGoSmoker on our BBQ wok burner gas ring, set the flame to a low heat and added a couple of spoonfuls of Australian mixed hardwood (eucalyptus) pellets before slipping the trout on the rack and replacing the lid. Yes, two beers later the fish was ready to go. My family enjoyed and savoured the lovely hot smoked trout with gusto...it was a superb entrees to a meal of wild duck breast schnitzels served on creamy mash, accompanied with steamed Asian greens and hoisin sauce. Serving the trout was super easy...it was put on a platter and I simply pealed the skin off. The meat separated from the bones perfectly, as the skin had kept the moisture in the flesh and yet the delicate smoke flavour was present throughout. Neither fish were brined or given any other treatment, just a simple clean and onto the rack. The end result is simply delicious :) The EasyGoSmoker is easy to carry in the boat or car, it is simple and convenient. Don't think twice about getting one, you will appreciate it and use it regularly ;)
