Review for East Oak Patio Heater: This is a radiant heater, which means it gets warm and "radiates" the heat rather than blowing it toward you. Pros: Large size, comes on immediately when turned on, adjustable levels of warmth (not always discernable), handy remote control. Platform base helps prevent tipping. Apparently approved for patio use. Good quality of construction. Easy to unpack and use (you may need help or a tall guy to get it out of the box, but there's no "assembly" to speak of). Cons: As others mentioned in reviews, the heater does not project the warmth. The heat (even on the highest power) doesn't seem to radiate very far into a room. I've only used it indoors so far, and it may take the chill off a bit, but I am not sure it heats up as I'd imagined or hoped it would. I have it in a reasonably sized den that has a high ceiling, and it does seem to take off the chill within 10 feet or so. Not much more than a "chill reducer" so far. I got this for an outdoor, covered patio and I don't yet know how well it will work there, since we need to get above the ice & snow temps to test it out. I am not sure I'd buy this again - I will likely need to augment it with one or more heaters that have fans.

I’ve tried a few infrared heaters for my garage and ultimately settled on this heater tower. It arrives well packaged and fully assembled. The remote control is tucked into the packaging foam, but 2 AAA batteries are not included. The heater is quite sturdy and well built. This heater heats up immediately which is great; most others took 5-7 seconds. The glass over the front blunts the bright light and turns it into a soft candle lit color protecting your eyes. There are 3 heat settings (1000, 1200, and 1500 watts. The heater remembers your last setting and when turning on again it returns to the last setting. The heater is about 36 inches tall and weighs about 20 pounds. The heater includes all the expected safety settings and uses a thick 3 prong cord. The heat is warm and gentle thanks to the glass diffuser over the element. It comes with an industry leading 3 year warranty and responsive customer service.

Looks great, but if it’s windy, you can’t feel the heat unless you’re directly next to it. It does flip our breakers if other electric items are used at the same time. My intent is to use this on my enclosed screened in porch. The unit heats up well, it will not keep you warm on a cold breezy night. If it’s not breezy, then yes… You will enjoy the heat coming from this unit.

The only thing that is a bit disappointing is that the radiant heat is too narrow. It definitely warms up the area but if you want to feel the heat you have to direct it right at you.

I used this heater for three months and it was perfect for in-house use because it is totally silent. After three months it suddenly stopped heating. I contacted the manufacturers and they supported me with a thorough trouble shooting . They determined that it was a manufacturing problem and sent me a new heater. Terrific support for their product. Highly recommend this heater for a space heater.

It is very sturdy and very well built but unfortunately if you don’t have the heater approximately 4 feet from you you’re not getting warm. I definitely question their claim of heating a 45-64 sq ft area. I have been on the patio at 45*. When I combine it with my stand propane heater it was not uncomfortable but the 2 East Oak heaters alone was not enough to warm me. I also saw very insignificant difference between the lowest setting and their Max setting on both heaters

I bought this product about 3 weeks ago. I had an outdoor party and all my friends complained they could not feel the heat unless they were standing right next to the heater (user error). Mia from customer support contacted me and explained what I was doing wrong, she assisted me into getting the correct heater and setting it up correctly, I am now very happy. I am extremely impressed with the customer support from this company, they are by far the best I have experienced with Amazon. I highly recommend these products.
