I am writing this for anyone considering hearing aids and specifically if thinking about Eargo 8. They are really terrific, sound is as close to perfect of any hearing aids I have used in the past. They are also a significant upgrade from the Eargo 7 I had previously, with better charging contacts, no replacement micro cap to mess with and very comfortable new ear bud style. Plus they are more water resistant, which is great because the fit is so comfortable I often forget I have them in when taking a shower. I personally use the small buds and the entire unit disappears completely inside my canal, to the point my wife says she can never tell if I have them in or not. The app is so easy to use and although I generally keep mine in Normal mode, with the auto adjust off, which functions great for me, the other night in an extremely noisy restaurant I decided to try the Restaurant mode and immediately the background noise quieted and my tables conversation became much clearer. It saved the evening for me. If Auto adjust is ON they will switch on their own. But I can either tap my ear canal twice or use the app and they will switch modes. I love hearing the birds again, and my wife's rather quiet voice. I am no longer missing out on conversations or asking "What did you say". The battery lasts me from early morning till close to 11pm when I take them out without any warnings that they are getting low. And I just recharge over night and they are ready for another full day. There are less expensive options for sure, but from my experience getting the best earring aids I can is the most important thing. Plus the companies customer service support is the best I have experienced even before you get the product to checking on how you like them afterwards. They really CARE and it shows in many ways. Hope this review helps those that are first time users or those thinking of going from previous Eargo models to the new 8s. Hard to believe but they have made, great even greater!!

I'm a very active, youthful 60 year old guy. I have moderate hearing loss due to attending a lot of rock concerts. I previously had Beltones which were double the price of the EARGO 8's. They were the style that hung behind my ears and I was very self-conscious when wearing them. To make matters worse, I constantly had to push the ear buds into my ears as they would loosen up many times each day. The EARGO 8's are basically invisible!! They fit snugly and comfortably and I never have to push them back in for the entire day, even when talking or eating. Right out of the box, all I did was charge the EARGO's overnight and the next day spent only 20 minutes or so downloading the app to my phone and learning how to make adjustments on the go. The noise cancelation feature is very effective. Very easy to download the app, do the hearing test, and learn the features and controls right in my home. One of my very favorite features is the charger. When you charge the hearing aids, you are also charging the charging base. It holds it's own charge when you unplug it. It is very small and fits right into my front pants pocket. The EARGO 8's are quite small and I could easily accidentally pull one or both out of my pocket without realizing it when reaching for my car keys or wallet. So if I ever need to take them out for a while, I just store them in the charger in my pocket and they will get topped off in under an hour. So far the right earbud is holding it's charge for 18 hours but for some reason the left one is only holding the charge for 11 hours. EARGO claims 16 hours so I will contact them to get a repair or replacement. No big deal. Highly reccommended!

After trying 3 different types of hearing aids before finding Eargo8, I am completely pleased with the clarity of different sounds the hearing aids provide. They fit well in my ears, to the point that I forget that I am wearing them; easy to put in and take out. The compact case is great for storing hearing aids in your pocket while they are charging. The cleaning accessories that come with the hearing aids are very effective and easy to use. I would recommend these hearing aids to anyone who needs them. They are as good as the more expensive ones I have tried, if not better.

I was so excited to try Eargo’s EARGO 8. I have been using Sony cre-c20. They have updated their programming, and I was just curious to see if they would work.The big difference in the two designs is the shape of the hearing aids. Sony’s are curved to slip in the ear easily, EARGO 8 shape have NOT changed their straight shape that they have always used from the beginning.. I have smaller ear openings. So disappointed that EARGO did not change the 8’s shape. I can see why men would like them,, because their ear canals are probably larger. But if you have smaller ear canals these don’t work. They simply are too big! The Sony’s slip in so smoothly and because of the design they seem smaller. EARGO 8 just will not stay in my ear canal. So at this particular time, Sony cre20 are clearly the winner! They are on sale on Amazon for $698.00. Sony is probably going to release an even better version in the near future.

Have tried almost all the high-end OTC aids on here and found almost all lacking in one way or the other the closest to working other than the Eargo 8 were the Sony CRE-C20 but the deal breaker was the useless app for the phone and the need for a constant Internet connection to just change the volume, the Eargo 8 was perfect and they sound so good. I tried the Eargo 7 and like them a lot, but my left ear has an odd size canal, and they hurt it quite a bit. I was a little hesitant on the price of the 8 but figured that you really get what you pay for. I have been very happy with the 8 and they do not hurt my left ear at all. I would say if you can afford these then go for it you will not be disappointed at all.
