I bought these hearing aids after doing quite a lot of research. You can find a very helpful review on Wirecutter. I wanted to replace the Widex hearing aids I purchased several years ago from my audiologist when I had great health insurance. Those worked great but I lost one and could not afford to replace them. While these Eargos are quite pricey, I finally decided to buy them because I really wanted to try in ear style hearing aids. I also wear glasses and one thing I hated about my Widex pair was how I could hear every adjustment of my glasses. I’ve had the Eargo 8’s now for about three weeks and my brain is finally adjusting to them. At first I felt like I was at the bottom of a metal garbage can, but a helpful session with an Eargo audiologist over the phone was super helpful. She input my actual audiogram (I was unable to figure out how to do that from the app) and she assured me, as my own audiologist has several years ago, that my brain would adjust in a few weeks and feeling like Oscar the Grouch would diminish. That is finally happening. But it takes real commitment. I work from home and am often alone (partner works outside the home) and so putting in hearing aids to take meetings over Zoom seemed ridiculous since I can simply turn the volume up. But I have worn them every day for the past several weeks and now I look forward to putting them in in the morning. Charger works great - took it on a trip and the charge lasted - no need to bring any cords. The hearing aids themselves are a little tricky to fit properly but you get many ear tip size choices. The app is pretty minimalistic but there are helpful videos to show you how to properly clean them, etc. Overall I am very pleased and recommend these. If, like me, you’ve put them in your shopping cart several times and then pale when the price comes up, just click buy. Worth it! Last thing - recently got an outreach from Eargo over email with an offer for a free set of ear tips and an extra cleaning kit - no strings. Nice customer service.

Eargo 8’s are without a doubt awesome! I have had tinnitus for about three years now and did not want to buy traditional hearing aids because they were so expensive. But then I started realizing how many times I was asking people to repeat themselves or couldn’t hear the Pastor talking at church, or couldn’t hear my friends at the restaurant. I knew then that it was time to do something. I started to research hearing aids and after some careful consideration, I went with the Eargo 8. When I got them in and first tried them, it was such an amazing experience! I was hearing sounds that I have not heard in a long time. Things like my car directional signal clicking, or opening up a bag of potato chips or hearing my keys rattling. But most importantly, I could hear peoples dialogue clearly for the first time in many years! I have had them for about a month and I’ve been very pleased with them. The battery lasts all day and is very easy to charge. And they are virtually invisible in my ears. The customer service has been outstanding! I give them five stars!

I was hesitant, but shouldn't have been. After a hearing test 2 years ago, I had done some research about hearing aids. The audiologist wanted 6-8 thousand which wasn't happening. I researched new aids available now that the regulations had changed. I was on hold until my daughter said that I need help hearing, and it had an effect on potential dementia. My research pointed me to Eargo as an in canal choice for hearing support. After receiving them I followed the fitting and in ear testing. So far so good. I hear so much more high frequency sound! As my brain and I adjust to hearing new sounds I'm learning how to hear again. They fit well, the battery lasts all day, and at the price I'm satisfied that I saved some money. There is definitely an adjustment period, but after two weeks it's feeling more natural. I would recommend it to someone in my situation.
