Strong magnet and it is foldable for travel. I use it with an external keyboard and can get closer to the iPad because of the elevation. Sturdy and looks good. All metal. I ended up buying same brand for my mini (the mini option, not this one) although it does not fold.

Update: The company reached out and offered a refund or to send me a new stand. I’ll give them 4 stars for this great customer service. This worked well for two months, but now the lower hinge has gotten loose and I can’t find a way to tighten it. Now, it can collapse, putting my iPad at risk. This iPad stand is amazing! I am so glad I chose this one over the other alternatives out there. It is very sturdy and has some good weight to it, but not too heavy to travel with. My iPad feels safe when on this stand and I love how it looks on my desk! Would definitely recommend this product.

I use this stand an a bluetooth keyboard/mouse to replace my laptop on the go. Its rock solid, doesn't drop my ipad like a different stand I've had in the past and has a lot of options for screen angles. It also works really well for getting a comfortable writing angle with your apple pencil
