This is the perfect vacuum for spot pickups and light floor cleaning. I have a robot vac that goes through the house twice a week, but after using the Dyson V12, it was shocking how much the more expensive robot vac missed. There are several heads for the Dyson. The one for hard floors has a green laser that illuminates pet hair and dust you simply don't see without. White cat hair on white tile floor is invisible without it. It also has a carpet cleaner head, furniture upholstery head and a brush I've used on chair mesh and computers. There is a wall stand with built in charger for easy storage and recharging. Leave it in there and it is good to go at anytime. Performance is decent and selectable. There are three settings. ECO (which I use almost all of the time as it gives me max runtime and decent performance on hard flooring), Medium and Boost. With the carpet head attached, ECO or Medium are fine for suction. I seldom need Boost. Battery life is decent and I can do a large bedroom, bathroom and living room kitchen on single charge on ECO. Dumping the contents into the trash is simplicity itself. Just take off the attachment and press the red level forward over the bin. Internal brushes sweep the contents out and it is empty in a second. The hopper is small, but for quick pickups of pet hair in our one bedroom apartment (I have two cats) and fast cleaning, it is enough. You won't find anything better for the price. The Dyson V12 is maneuverable and really easy to steer. Lightweight and you just twist your wrist to guide it. The heads are low profile and go under the edges of my furniture.     • Lightweight but great cleaning
My priority for shopping this item was I wanted light weight and maneuverability. The Dyson V12 is both very light and easy to maneuver. I was surprised at just how well it cleans. Rugs that had been cleaned daily by a robot vacuum came up cleaner with the Dyson as large amounts of pet hair were removed that the robot had not been able to lift. I also used it to clean 2 dog beds and again was impressed at just how clean it got them - the included pet hair attachment really works well. There is an included wall mount that lets you hang the vacuum on the wall while charging. The instructions have a suggested height above the floor which is a few inches more than necessary - you can lower it about 4". That difference matters for the 5' family members! Battery runtime has proved adequate. There is a display to show how much battery remains, and the multiple speeds allow you to maximize the battery. The only negative is the very small dust bin. The dust bin needs emptying before the battery needs charging and you need to remove any cleaning attachments to be able to empty the bin. I guess this is one of the tradeoffs needed to achieve the light weight. ... show more

It takes a body builder to remove the tube in order to clean the vacuum, my wife had no chance. Also, the suction is lower than described. It is an inferior product!

I have a small dog who doesn't shed much and a large home with hardwood floors. This vacuum is amazing at picking up dust and the dog hair super fast. There's a light that illuminates the floor to things I hadn't seen before making it easy to keep my floor clean. It's extremely light weight and very maneuverable with the rotating head. This is the best mop/vac I could ever hope for. It’s an amazing product. It works very well, cleans great, and is easy to use and set up. It is so simple and easy to clean and empty the filter tray. Works well. Nice that it has an on/off button instead of a trigger. Also one of the lightest cordless vacuums I’ve tried. Only complaint would be the cost. Especially considering that this V12 cost as much as a V15 from Costco. But, it arrived quickly and I couldn’t find a better option for this exact model. ... show more
