This is my second Dyson, I have the original ball, bought it when it first came out years ago, still works as good as the day I got it. I bought this one because my sheds..aka doggie glitter and I wanted a small beater bar head to do the furniture and my car. So far it does a great job, as good as my big Dyson but without the cord. On low it does do a fair job, no complaint, great for quick jobs or dusting, the claimed 40 min run time appears to be true. Now on high not so much, but boy does it have some suction, tried it on the comforter...just amazing, pulled all the glitter in one pass, definitely worth every penny! Speaking of cleaning, it's very easy to clean, this seems to be a Dyson thing because my other vacuum is also easy to clean and maintain, a feature I truly love. ... show more

Love this thing. So convenient to use as it is light weight, so many attachments which make it multi-use, small so it can reach tight spots, easy to store... so many good things. Only complaint is battery life, but still worth it.

    • Works great but the battery is terrible
I love this thing. Makes vacuuming enjoyable and the accessories are fantastic and easy to swap. Sadly I need to dock a star cuz after less than a year being lightly used, the battery suddenly no longer could be charged. We got the red blinking lights. I looked up some info online and it means the battery is dead. Really disappointing because it means we need a replacement battery already. ... show more

    • Awesome, worth the money
I am more enthusiastic about my Dyson cordless vacuums than any other appliances I've ever owned! My first, the V8 Animal, was a gift. After 4+ years of daily use, the lightweight, powerful and super convenient machine's battery wasn't lasting very long on the highest suction and the beater brush was getting worn down. Both parts are replaceable but I decided to put the money toward a second, newer model, the V8 Extra. I now use the older one for the patio and workshop. Dyson is a class act and the customer service is wonderful. I have purchased an after market soft hardwood floor head which I like for dust. It is lighted which would be my preference for the regular beater head, but I still wouldn't buy another brand of vacuum cleaner. Worth every penny. ... show more

    • Dyson V8 Extra is a beast!
This is better than my regular vacuums. By far the best I have ever owned. I was a little hesitant to get another stick style vacuum I had purchased one before that was a bit junky and did very little but make a lot of noise. But this Dyson is a BEAST! It never fails to perform. And with all the attachment choices there is very little I cannot reach. I mean I have purposely sought out nooks and crannies because I have this there is no place that this thing cannot reach and clean. Worth every penny. They cost more because they WORK. Battery for me is great you rarely need turbo or high speed mode the regular mode does so much. I guess if you had to suck up a lot of really heavy bits of something turbo mode is needed, but so far it is like hitting the NOS button on a race car.....it goes Plaid. Get one. You will not be let down. ... show more

    • Awful battery life
Awful battery life. Trying to do a big clean up and it ran out first after ten minutes then after 15 the next day. Have only used this less than a dozen times. Gets hot when vacuuming. I cannot believe this cost so much and literally sucks because it doesnt suck up anything after a few mins only. Wow. I wanted to believe all who said it was a game changer. Definately not. Try to find the version 7 if you can! I have a 7 that I absolutely love. Got this one because it was on sale, for a different level of the house. Its obviously a cheaper version. Doesn't show how much battery is left, it shocks my hip everytime it touches me, the way it attaches to the wall doesn't automatically charge it - you have to jam it in the holder then watch for the blue lights to know its seated correctly. It doesn't have digital codes on it to tell you things like the other ones do like "clean filter" etc. They screwed up the design with this one. It does have a switch on it for more suction that works great, other than that I'm not very happy with this model. ... show more

    • Tried Shark and had to return - can't live without my Dyson.
I LOVE DYSON!! This is my third Dyson. My first cordless finally wore out and I pretty much ordered the exact same one because the first one was so good. The first one needed a part that isn't in stock, therefore, I ordered this one and its fantastic. The suction is fantastic - it will pick up pet hair, human hair, whatever happens to be on the kitchen floor! The battery lasts - I can vacuum my entire house twice before I need to charge it - my home is a little less than 2K s.f.! Its so light and easy to handle, easy to replace the attachments, it really is just great. ... show more
