    • has some flaws
I picked up the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai and overall I've got mixed feelings. I has real flaws worth knowing about before spending the money. On the plus side, the suction is reasonably strong, and the LiDAR navigation gets genuinely precise after the initial mapping run. It auto-lifts the wet roller when it hits carpet, which matters if you have nice rugs, and the self-emptying dock is satisfying to watch. The wet mopping with heated water actually works on sticky kitchen messes, and the AI-assisted stain detection feature is cool: it spots a stain, illuminates it, and keeps scrubbing up to 15 passes until it's clean. That said, there are legit concerns. The vacuum kept running into the base of some of the kitchen cabinets repeatedly, and the AI never learned to stop. The mopping also flat out missed visible stains even on max settings, which is a problem for the main selling point. Mapping has some rough edges too: no PC support, crude room editing tools, and it's hard to draw out sections on the map with the UI. It has gotten stuck where rugs and hardwood flooring meet. It probably works best if you have only hard flooring with no rugs or carpet. A smaller but annoying issue: after the drying cycle, moisture still sits in the onboard water reservoir. If you're only running the wet feature a couple times a month, that's a mold risk worth thinking about. The app also defaults to the Dyson store every time you open it, which gets old fast.     • Love my spot ai!
Let me start by saying I’ve never owned a robot vacuum before or anything ai so I may be easily swayed as I’m no expert! This spot and scrub ai did a great job mapping my downstairs on the first try, it cleans great, is very easy to set up and use, & has good stability! The noise level is medium-loud, it’s not the quietest thing but you can watch tv in the same room as it cleans. The suction power leaves a bit to be desired but does well for light vacuuming. The mopping function is great but does take multiple passes for anything dried on the floor. It’s gotten stuck where I’ve had to help it maybe 3 times out of using it 2x a week for the past 3-4 weeks. Always on throw rugs so just something to be mindful of. It also seems to have trouble getting on its ramp sometimes as well to dock but it’s able to solve that itself. I will say I’m very impressed at its ability to get under tight spaces and how the vacuum or mop will come out of the sides so it can get under cabinet corners!! You can definitely tell it’s ai, as it learns better ways of cleaning your house as it goes which is very neat the first few times I wasn’t impressed as much but as it’s learned it’s definitely gotten better! It’s easy to empty the dirty water, waste bin, and refill the water! The app and set up was also extremely easy/ user friendly and I love that you can set a schedule for it to clean through the week so you can just set it and forget about it until it’s time to empty it or add water! Overall this is a great tool for in between deep cleans or to keep your floors tidy but it’s not a replacement for a human scrubbing/ vacuuming (at least not yet lol). The price does seem very high to me but I’m not into tech so it really comes down to if you think the time you save in between deep cleans having this little bot around is worth the cost! Personally I’m still very happy with this though, and would recommend for busy people or those who just need that extra hand through the week!
