1/17/2026 Refurbished Dyson D15 review I will break this review up in the sections you care about 1) Buying a refurbished: So far, day 1 is excellent. Clearly used once before it was returned. The unit works as advertised after requiring a 100% charge. This is our 4th Dyson stick vac, so we are familiar with their performance. The V15 operates as well if not a little better than our V11. 2) The laser dust finder: I wa skeptical that the laser feature was anything more than a gimmick. I am pleased to report that it’s actually quite effective. Dust (and in our case dog hair) shows up nicely under the laser. It’s a cool feature. 3) the attachments. If you have had a Dyson before, you will be familiar with the attachments. No big surprises here save 1, the angle attachment that allows you the ability to vacuum high ledges and ceiling fan blades. Haven’t tried this out yet, but I can see its utility. 4) Noise is low unless in turbo but still quieter than our Dyson pet plug in vacuum 5) Weight is balanced and manageable but can get heavy after a full vacuum. I got a refurbished V15 Detect. It was delivered well packaged with no noticeable debris from previous use. It looked brand new. It does a spectacular job of cleaning and battery life is excellent on medium speed. It is a light unit and very maneuverable once you figure out which attachment is best for your vacuuming session. All attachments came shrink wrapped. The V15 looks and performs like a new unit. There is a small learning curve and YouTube is your best friend for better instructions.     • Received Defective Vacuum
Received a faulty unit with a battery that only lasted for one vacuuming session. Fully charged to 100% and only got 20 seconds out of the second vacuuming session before it completely quit working. Now I have to figure out how this all fits back in the box. Be careful buying refurbished....

    • Quiet operation gets the job done, makes this a must have if you can afford it Refurb win
Ordered and received it a day late, Amazon said shipping delay so because its a refurb product shipping may be longer. Once received, it was not in the original box but looked and worked like new. No issue's with it being a refurb, and the new non standard pack packaging and letters inside seem to indicate that it was done by Dyson. Claims to have a 6 mth warrenty, but I use Amazon so much I have the Amazons universal warranty plan which it was covered by, so I didn't stress the refurb and enjoyed the $500 less price. On the use of the product it works great, so quiet my light sleeper toddler didn't get awakened by it as I got to test it in the hallway, it picked up all the loose stuff everywhere and maneuvered very easy, and all the corners where quick to suck up dirt with removal of the head. The laser sees all the dirt great The portable battery design while makes it extremely useful for me to vacuum as I only have a chance when they sleep. After a few minutes the unit did begin to feel heavy so maybe plan only brief vacuum jobs. While it did remove all the dirt easily in all the area I could not get to with other types, it clearly lacks the extreme vacuum power of a regular plug in type. This one still works great for me, because its cordless and adaptable on the fly to get to various spots, and even shows you the dirt ... show more

    • Not totally a V15!!!
It arrived today but had V8 on the wand. I paid for V15, so that's what I want. Replacement is on the way. Update: I received the replacement today. Wow! This thing is incredible. With the green lazer you can see exactly what is on your floors. I thought my floors were pretty clean. Not! It litterally sucks up everything in its path, and is pretty darn quiet. The only thing I can see that needs improvement is the comfort of the trigger switch. Other than that, it's perfect and worth every penny. Dyson certified refurbished is the way to go.     • The V12’s bigger (more powerful and expensive) brother
I got this Dyson renewed with an Amazon insurance/warranty plan. I had a Dyson V12 for a while and loved it. I needed a new vacuum and thought I’d get another V12, but couldn’t find any online. Enter the V15. The v15 is bigger, more powerful, and has a different set of cleaning tools that it comes with. It’s easy to use, but I dislike the need to hold down the trigger (because the V12 was a simple on/off as opposed to a constant button/trigger press.) The battery life so far has blown me away, 15+ min more run time than the V12. I have yet to struggle when cleaning my car or apartment. Overall it’s a nice vacuum but I’m not convinced that there isn’t a better option given the price. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good value, but I don’t know anyone who needs a vacuum this powerful and light for every day messes. ... show more

    • Disappointed at Amazon support.
I got this vacuum and had it for a 2days. 1st when it arrived it was working good and no issue. Battery was at 20% so I fully charged it and did a test run again. But this time it turned off after 1or 2 sec. I was thinking thats odd.. trying it 4,5time and it worked again. So looked up on internet. People said it was main board issue(capacitor) so I called Amazon and talked with support they told me it was normal. What kind of vaccine do in need to turn on 5,6times to run it?? But Amazon support keep telling me its normal and if I want i can talk to dyson support. So I called ddyson they asked me some questions and they told me it was bad main body unit so they'll send me the new main body. Since its reconditioned(renew) item i guess it can happen. Im disappointed at Amazon but not at dyson. ... show more

This vacuum is my purchase of the year. The laser light makes it so easy to see everything, it makes me vacuum a ton more. It turned into a game in my head, the charging mount works really well to hide away the vacuum when not in use. It’s a bit expensive but it’s worth it imo
