    • Very good smoker if a little under insulated
I was given the 44" smoker as a gift for Christmas. In the two months sense I have spent a lot of time playing with it. I have smoke 2 briskets, 3 racks of ribs, a turkey, and a lot of garlic in it. Overall it does a very good job. It is almost too easy to use and can turn even a novice BBQ enthusiast into a decent BBQ artist. The only issues I have are; - the gauge of the metal inside is too light. It does feel a bit flimsy. Also, the edges are very sharp. - it is not well insulated. When attempting to smoke in colder temperatures it does not reach the set temperature. To get 220 you have to set it at a higher temperature. Overall I am very pleased with the smoker and its simplicity / effectiveness. It is not perfect but it is has been very good. ... show more

Going into my second season with this. It has been great. We use it for everything from jerky to brisket to hams to whatever else we think of. Has worked wonderfully.

    • Thermostat doesn't work.
The first unit had shipping damage when it arrived so we had to box it up and send it back. The second unit arrived a couple weeks later looking to be in good condition, however it turned out to be unuseable. The thermostatic temperature control is so far out of calibration that it will not allow the smoker to get above 205° even when I set the smoker at its maximum temperature of 275°. I placed two digital temperature probes and one analog oven thermometer in the smoker to see how they compared to the unit's thermostat digital readout and found that when the smoker indicated that it was at 275° (and therefore cut power to the heating element), the actual temperature was only 205°. The unit's own meat thermometer also showed the smoker internal temperature to be only 205°. It wasn't even hot enough to produce any smoke. I will again call customer service and try to resolve the issue. If I could do this over again, I would definitely NOT buy a Dyna-Glo smoker. ... show more

I got this smoker as a gift and am thrilled! Set up on the DGU951SDE-D was straightforward and the directions were easy to follow. I got started quickly and it found ample room to fit all my food. Everything I cooked came out well, especially for a first time smoker user. I started with ribs, chicken, pork and even corn on the cob. Highly recommend and would purchase another. ... show more

    • Buyer beware, impossible to find parts and customer service is not great
Worked great for about 15 smoke sessions. Now as others have listed, the temperature does note accurately hold. I have to crank my smoked salmon cook temp to 275f in order to achieve 130f actual cook temp. I reached out to customer service, explained in detail the problem and Danny explained to me how to load wood chips and not to put charcoal in it. Super helpful :( After back and forth emails, I got a very short, we don't have that part anyway. If you are looking for a pretty smoker that doesn't work to sit outside and look good then get this. If you want a actual working smoker, look elsewhere. ... show more

    • Worst product from the worst company.
I had a Dyna-Glo charcoal smoker which worked great but was time consuming. I aske my wife to get me a new Dyna-Glo electric smoker for my birthday which she did. I assembled it, plugged it in and nothing. The unit will not turn on. I followed every step and made sure the outlet was GFI as all my outdoor outlets are because my house was built in 2002. It stated in the manual not to return it but to call customer service. It's now my sixth attempt to contact them and I've been on hold each time for over an hour. The unit is now in the trash and I'm purchasing a new one from a reputable company. ... show more

    • Steer Clear! Looks good, works bad!
I bought this smoker and did one cook. It is going back! Why? Bluetooth Range: Maximum distance 20 feet if no walls involved. Could not reach my family room at 18 feet and one wall. Heat: The unit struggles to obtain 275 degrees. I cooked a 7 pound pork butt that should have been done in 6 hours max at 275. At 10 hours the meat reached 180 degrees but 205 degrees is the done temperature. ... show more

I was never able to use the product because the bottom door was so off line from the factor it would never open. I could never put it together due to poor workmanship and poor quality materials. This is complete and total JUNK stay away.
