  • Excellent Floating Overarm Dust Collection for our Tablesaw
Style: Boom Arm + Workbench Mount
This one truly exceeds expectations. Wholeheartedly recommend this Mullet ThirdHand Dust Collection Boom Arm. An exceptionally well made product. Looks and feels like it would last until the end of time. Easily re-positions. Holds that position. Even in odd positions where the whole weight of the arm is on one joint, and even when an industrial dust collector is sucking cats and dogs through it, it would not sag. No matter how you twist it the arm remains airtight. Catches everything thrown upwards by tablesaw blades. Stores out of the way when it is not needed. It made a huge difference in air quality for our busy woodworking shop. ... show more

  • Works well, but not a powerhouse in the stability arena.
Style: Boom Arm + Workbench Mount
The unit works well. I am using a festool vacuum rather than my central dust collection system. I have two complaints of the item. First is the cost, it appears to me that we are paying a lot for the developmental costs. The raw materials in the unit are only a fraction of the total cost, it is all plastic. Which brings me to my second complaint. I purchased the bench mounted unit and the bench mount is all plastic and the weight of the three boom pieces causes the bench mount to bend under the weight of the boom in the working position. My remedy to this was to secure a 10” l bracket to my bench and tie wrap the vertical to the bench mount, a little Mickey Mouse, but quite effective. ... show more

  • Should have bought this years ago
Style: Boom Arm + Cyclone
I should have invested in this a long time ago. The difference that this made in the amount of sawdust clean up in my garage was larger. I liked that this machine is easy to install and switch from tool to tool. It is a little big, which wasn’t an issue for my garage, but if you have less space, might need to get creative. I only needed myself to install it which is always a plus when you get a heavy duty tool. It is clearly built well and honestly if you’re thinking about getting it, just do it. Saves you a lot of time. ... show more

  • Clear joint split
Style: Boom Arm + Workbench Mount
Was initially really excited about this. Build and design quality seemed high but after less than a week one of the joints split.

  • Ackward to use and to set up
Style: Boom Arm + Workbench Mount
It does seem to be fairly well made, but it really needs to be mounted to the table. This doesn't really work for me since this is my assembly table mounting it and dismounting it is too time consuming. This is the one tool that I have difficulty adding dust collection fittings to and then I have to adapt something from the boom to the tool. All in all just too difficult to use. For me. ... show more

  • Works great
Style: Boom Arm + Cyclone
Very happy with this purchase. I don’t have a lot of real estate in my shop, and it does take up some space when paired with shop vac, but it is a great tool and works fantastic.

  • Arm topples the base
Style: Boom Arm + Cyclone
Let me start by saying that the arm itself works beautifully. Easy assembly, set up, adjustability and plenty of suction. The issue is with the weight of the arm, it topples the whole thing when you extend it away from the base, and if you attach a hose to the end, it gets worse due to the added weight. Which means that you can only use it when the cyclone part is directly attached to the vac. You can't use a hose in between the 2, and your vac can't be too small either (I had both problems). Once again, nothing wrong with the product itself, it works very well. It's the engineering with the weight distribution that I have an issue with. ... show more
