This engine is great especially for the price point. I have it paired with a pressure washer pump 3600psi 4.8 gpm, and it has plenty of torque! Pump calls for 13 HP, I chose 16 to accommodate for name brand, and it does great. Only thing is the oil safty switch can be a hassle, I unplugged mine !

I used this engine on a bandsaw mill that I built 3 years ago. The engine gets used in the summer months to cut lumber and then sits over the winter. It starts and runs great every summer after the long (6 month) winters and all I have had to do is use fuel stabilizer in it. Starts on first or second pull, runs very well strong engine for pressure washer 4 g.p.m pump set at 4000 psi. the 4 stars is do to the damage to the fuel tank. but it dose not effect the performance of the engine the box was trashed,but it works just fine and I would buy another one if needed.

We bought this engine with a few concerns. Mostly being what kind of quality would we get for this price. I checked out reviews of it on other sites (sears, overstock), and it had a 4.6 star rating. So, I ordered it. It arrived quickly, and was well packed. We got it to replace the engine on our splitter, and quickly had it bolted and welded on. Off we went to test it out! Filled the gas tank, and it started on the first pull. It works awesome! The only problem we have had is one of our own making-left the choke on. Dont do that. It has made life a lot easier, and I wish I had gotten it 3 years ago! ... show more

I've installed this now on a shredder/ chipper replacing the OEM Briggs Stratton engine. The Duromax is a more powerful engine and can run at the low end of it's rpm range without stalling. The previous engine would tend to stall at loads that this engine just idles though----it's a good engine. It starts easily with a single pull of the rope. It's a quality made piece of machinery----compact and powerful. It is fuel efficient----with a large tank. I can't think of anything I don't like about it---and I'm hard to please. Don't know why anyone would go for the electric start version of this engine---at the increased price---when this engine starts to easily. ... show more

Good engine started second pull,had oil leaking from crack in bottom of motor.appeared to possibly have been dropped at some point before I got it. Also after discovering crack I noticed base of motor not flat,be careful when mounting on your piece of equipment. Amazon replaced the motor with a new one ... show more
