    • The real deal! Wish I found them sooner!
I don’t usually post reviews but these mash balls deserve it. I found this product on accident while buying H2O Fix Total Hot Tub Care. The two are staple products for any hot tub owner who wants to keep water cleaner, for longer. My only regret is not finding and buying them sooner!!!

These our nice little “scum balls” and they don’t seem flimsy like just a cheap piece of sponge. They seem to be working really well, they look much better than the traditional dirty old sponges, and I liked the way they came with a note about the fact that they are a family business and I thank you for ordering them. They were more expensive than a cheap piece of sponge but definitely worth it. ... show more

Extremely pleased so far. Better hot tub experience. I used to buy the low quality sponges for my hot tub for years because that was the only option I could find. The old sponges seem to only work 15-20% as well as these new large mesh balls and so far are holding up much better long term. From the moment you receive the product you can tell they feels and look like a high quality product. I can even say the mesh balls look even better in person than in the pictures! I had this thing floating in my hot tub for a couple months. I had replaced one of the white “scum bug” versions that do the same thing which had been fine and Inprobably could have just left it alone. These seemed like they’d be better because of the many strips that at bunched up to make the ball providing a large surface area to collect surface scum/oils. They seemed to do that, but when I was. Leaning my filter I noticed a bunch of blue fibers this thing had shed which will clog up my filter faster. I’m going back to the scum bug version, or I might try a tennis ball as I heard that does the same thing and you can wash it and reuse it. ... show more

Easy to order, fast delivery and they really clean the scum off the water surface. Just hose them off and put back in the pool. If really dirty, soak in a bucket of water with a pool chlorine tablet and then rinse! Bonus: they are a great catcher for bugs who decide to swim in your pool!🤣

I used this scum removal ball ONCE, and the netting is coming apart. I also find it very hard to clean since I cannot get water or detergent to scrub off the strips twisted inside. Poor item, would not recommend for others to use.
