Quick and Dirty Review: Nice fan, nice light, works with Home Assistant The long worded review: I've been looking for something to replace my dumb fan running off of a Shelly relay with something that would integrate well with my Home Assistant setup so I ordered the 52" 3 blade fan. Shipping was fast, everything was well packaged and separated into labelled bags which was very convienient. Installation was fairly straightforward. I don't know about the 20 minute claim Dreo says it should take, maybe if you've done this before, but it will probably take a little longer if it'd the first time you've done this. The fan bracket did not fit my junction box but they did include instructions on how to mount this in an alternative method. (I have an old 80's doublewide so nothing seems to be standard). I also have a shallow vaulted ceiling and there were no issues there (2:12 pitch inside). Last thing to note on installation, I didn't use wire nuts, I bought Wago connectors to make things easier, but the wire nuts are included as well as zip ties to organize the wiring. Post installation review is that the fan itself works great. *slight* wobble on high speeds but they did include balancing weights to fix this. It's not bad and I'm lazy so it's going to be like this forever, but they do provide instructions and tools to correct it. The light is WAY brighter than the old fan that I had three LED bulbs in, although my only critique is that it doesn't get super dim. Noise? None. At least not from the motor. On speed setting 4-6 there's wind noise, but it moves more air more quietly than my old 5 blade fan on high. The remote is extremely responsive, no delay at all. Home Assistant. If you're reading this review, this section is probably what you're looking for. Dreo's integration in Home Assistant works flawlessly. You will need to download that through HACS but I am using their native integration and it functions well. Fan speed, light brightness, color temperature, fan modes (e.g. "natural" or "sleep"), audio feedback (yes, the fan has a beeper), and blade direction are all controllable from HA. It arguably gives you slightly more control over the fan speed than the remote although its hard to say for sure. Most of my home is on a Zigbee network, and this fan is wifi. Using my Aqara Zigbee wall switches there is a slight delay, but it is not bad at all. Controls from the HA app, Sonoff NSP panels, or computer dashboard have almost no delay at all. Very easy set up, very easy to create automations for, and fairly fast response.

This was a very simple install when replacing my old fan. The light is very good and adjustable. You can change the color temperature and brightness for the feel of the room. The fan works well and is very quiet. It looks great and I would recommend it.

I put this small fan up in my shed. It works great for moving the hot air down in the winter and cool air around in the summer. It was simple to install and the app makes using it even better. This is a very powerful fan for its size. It's whisper quiet as well and the reverse function is easy to use with the remote or app.

I was able to install this in about an hour, possibly could have been faster but I was being careful to double check all instructions along the way. The instructions were well written too! I like that it comes with ceiling mounting hardware for installing into a box that isn't designed for a fan so pretty much any light could be converted. The operation is very quiet and it was balanced immediately, though it does come with balancing weights if you need them. I already have a Dreo heater and when I opened the app it instantly started pairing, which meant I could control it immediately with Google Voice since Dreo is already tied in. The light is VERY bright and the fan really kicks up a nice breeze at full power (the room it's in is 190 square feet for reference). The blades are reversable, either black or a wood grain (it would be hard to change them after its up though so don't think you could change them with the season or anything). Since I was replacing an old fan / light combination that needed two switches, I was able to cap off the old fan light, put a new blank cover over the wall box and stuck the remote control to it so it's in a natural spot on the wall. This fan looks very modern and the remote makes operation convenient, though I probably will mostly be using voice controls since its in a bedroom and it'll be convenient to be able to adjust it from bed. Overall, very satisfied with the purchase.

Great fan! Our preteen daughter has a loft bed and somehow knocked the crap out of her ceiling fan when getting into bed one night, to the point where the fan no longer worked. We rent, so we didn't want to pay an arm and a leg to replace the broken fan, but we also wanted/needed a replacement to help keep the room cooler in summer. We got this fan on sale to replace the broken one. The broken fan was a lot lower from the ceiling than the Dreo fan is. It gives her plenty of room to get stuff up and down the ladder into the loft. It not only came with a remote control that was easily mountable to the wall by the light switch, but it also integrates with home automation! It's compatible with Alexa, but we integrated it with Hone Assistant connecting through our Wi-Fi. The fan is effective at cooling the room during the summer months, and runs quietly even on high. The light is white spectrum LED. We like the cool white, but if the warmer yellow is your jam you can set it that way. Dreo gives you 6 speeds using the remote, but integrated to our Home Assistant (home automation) we get 12. We love this fan so much, we're considering upgrading the other 3 fans in our house (and 1 light from a bedroom that doesn't have a fan at all) to Dreo just for the efficiency, home automation, and better light quality at an affordable cost.

I already have a Dreo tower fan that I've been impressed with so decided to try their 42' smart ceiling fan out. In the last few months I have purchased several smart ceiling fans from different brands, all have been good, the Dreo one excels in several areas. Very little assembling to do, the others required more assembling, which made the install quicker and easier. The app (Dreo app - Android) is slick, integrates super easily with Alexa, honestly, the best I've used. The light, I mean, cannot look at it bright, if you crank it up. The fan works great, moves plenty of air, does make a little noise on max, but most of that is the noise of the air flow. Other thing I noticed, the remote control box, is branded by Dreo and is more substantial than the other ones supplied with the other fans, the other ceiling fans seem to use a generic off-the-shelf controller, which you can actually purchase on Amazon to convert a ceiling fan to remote, but this does show you that Dreo have designed their own controller and I think it shows in how well the remote control, smart functionality, app and Alexa integration works. Also a plus, it has ETL, DOE, and FCC certification. Do I have negatives? Yes, very minor though. The mounting bracket is not wide enough to fit a standard 4 inch ceiling box, one screwed into the box, the other I just used one of the supplied screws to go into the stud. The other ceiling fans fitted fine with a 4 inch box. Personally, I think they got the instructions wrong for the connecting the controller up, I found it much easier to install and wire up the controller to the existing wiring, insert the controller into the slot,then slot the down rod and fan into the mount, and finally connect up the controller box to the fan.

Just got it today. Fairly easy install. The fan is crazy quiet even on high. Air output I'd rate an 8/10 for a 42" fan. Looks really good. Several plastic parts but it is a $119 fan. Connected insanely easy to the dreo app and integrated into my google smart home in a couple of minutes. Your color options are various shades of white. Light output I'd a solid 10/10... This thing is bright. Comes with a good remote control but you can also use the phone app or Alexa or Google. As long as this thing holds up, it's a solid buy for a sub $200 fan. Well done Dreo!
