We were looking at options for a ceiling fan with limited space. The electrical box & original light were a little too close to the edge of the closet, and we have our TV mounted to the closet wall. A traditional ceiling fan would not work here, due to the positioning of the electrical. This ended up being a good solution. We had no trouble at all setting up this light/fan, and really didn't need the instructions. It's all pretty straight forward. I found it easier to wire up the fan module, then plug in the two connectors and hang the fan on the ceiling. They include everything you'll need for the install, including the tools. The light, at full power, is significantly brighter than the "dome" light fixture we had before, which used 3 light bulbs. However, this also has a night-light mode which can offer a rather dim light with a click of a button. Very happy with the purchase! ... show more

This fan is super easy to install. The instructions were perfect, and it was bright when I needed it to be, as well as dim. The fan is easy to remove, making it easier to clean. The downside: The Fan is a little small for this unit. I would rather have liked it to come closer to the outer ring. There is no ability to attach this to a secondary switch for the fan on/off without interfering with the light. The dimmer is also not a true dimmer, which means you cannot connect it to a full dimmer switch on the wall switch. Summary: It is a very good, simple unit for small rooms. ... show more

Installed yesterday. Pretty easy to install and everything you need comes with it. FYI, you cannot use this with a dimmer switch, so had to change those out to regular switches. The fan works well and is very quiet, even on the higher speeds. At night, we just used the lowest speed, which was just right for us. Looks good, highly adjustable light and plenty of light. My wife had me order another for her office! So far so good! ... show more

    • cheap threading. nuts don’t fit.

i ordered 3 of these and all 3 of their nuts would not go onto the thread. we ended up having to go spend our own money and buy nuts from the hardware store. and even then we struggled to get them on super tight. the threading is thin and cheap. i would’ve retuned if i knew it was going to be such a task to get them together. but they’re up now so i’m not taking them down. ... show more
