The DR. INFRARED HEATER greenhouse heater is designed to tender precious plants. We understand space is very important in smaller greenhouses, therefore, our heater will take zero floor space. The big difference between conventional greenhouse heaters is efficiency. Conventional fan force heater will circulate and heat up the whole room with the majority of the heat lost through walls, floor, and ceiling. The infrared greenhouse heater will apply warmth directly to the plants with very minimal heat lost through the walls. Effectively, infrared heaters are more efficient at applying heat to plants. Our greenhouse heater can be mounted on the wall, or ceiling, or even hang down from the ceiling with the provided chains and accessories. Dr. Heater is designed with a plug-and-play thermal cord that will sense the temperature close to the plant and feedback to the heater for auto temperature control. The heater can be operated in Smart mode - auto-regulate the temperature, or manual mode - with full control by the user. All Dr. Heater products are designed in the USA and are listed by nationally recognized safety laboratories such as UL and ETL.

I currently have it in my garage because I have a chair in my garage that I like to sit in and listen to audiobooks while the garage doors open. You have to understand something before you order this heater. Have you ever walked out on a cold day and felt the sun hit you and get a little warmth and still feel the cold of the air? It's like that. I currently have two heaters in front of me. One is a forced air heater and the other is this heater. If I am showing exposed skin like not wearing a shirt then I feel a lot warmer with the infrared heater because it's shining that warm light on skin. However if I am wearing clothes and want the warm air to heat up my clothes to get me warm that I use the forced air heater. I know it's odd but I've dealt with the two different types of heaters before and I know what I was buying. The assembly was actually not bad it only took a few screws to mount it together. It's pretty light and I can easily carry it from room to room. The remote functions as intended and it's actually a decent deal. ... show more

    • A Problem Free Outdoor Heater

Most people will want to buy this to heat their patio or deck. It mounts to the wall but also could be used on a stand if desired. To be clear, I did not buy 2 of these to heat a patio or deck but to heat 2 outdoor kennels for my German Shepherd Dogs, which I keep outside until it is time for bed when I bring them in the house. Regardless of the brand, no heater of this type is going to work that well whether mounted on a wall or self standing in an open area if it is windy. That is just the way it is. If you have a partially enclosed space which blocks the wind, you will do just fine. Now, the 2 kennels I have are open on all four sides but I have from fall to spring installed wind screens around all four sides of the kennels which are 10 ft x 10ft rectangles and 8 ft high. I have hung the heaters from the ceiling posts of the kennels and they work really well. Very easy to assemble. I have wall mounted heaters (different brand) on my deck and I can tell you that these would mount much easier than the ones I put on my deck. Piece of cake really. The package includes all of the hardware you need. I could mount these on a wall in less than 5 minutes. It took me less than that to hang them from the ceiling of the kennels. What about the remote? It works flawlessly and for my money it is essential, not just a convenience. I do not want to walk up to the heater and to turn it on or off if I do not have to. You can do it of course, but hitting the remote is far more convenient. It is easy to operate, self intuitive. You do not need instructions to operate it. As for heat, it has three levels. Level 1 is 900 watts, level 2 is 1200 watts and leverl 3 is 1500 watts. I find level 1 more than sufficient for temps in the 40s. I do not use it if 50 or above. (these are German Shepherd Dogs not people) That said, I am sure level one would be fine for the 50s for people. Level 2 I use for temps int he 30s. And Level 3 for the 20s and below. I have had the dogs out when the temperature was 5 degrees F and they did fine. Remember, these are infrared heaters, they heat objects not the air. So when the dogs stood or slept under the heaters, they were warm, despite the fact that air was quite cold. I warmly, no pun intended, recommend this product.     • Good heater.....BUT

I bought this to add some heat in my shed. When you turn it on the heat is there immediately. Keep in mind that this is direct heat and you need to be more or less directly under it to feel the heat. It will work well for it intended purpose. I am deducting 1 star for the mounting system, that is ridiculous and almost required me to grow a third hand to get it done. There was no template in the box as shown in the video. I will be buying a light hanging kit so I can hang and bring the heat down lower. This is my only complaint with this product. ... show more

This heater is the perfect solution for keeping my two-car attached garage from dipping below freezing at times when the outdoor temperature remains significantly below freezing for days. I mounted heater near the ceiling using the supplied chains by attaching them to the metal struts supporting the garage door rails. I set the heater to about 35F so that it only turns on for those rare times the garage would otherwise dip below freezing. I was able to plug it into the same outlet used by the garage door motors. The units is of extremely high quality. With the remote I can easily control the unit from my internal doorway to the garage. It works great! Easy to use, reliable. I used it for a greenhouse and a sun room for this winter and it did an awesome job keeping the temperature steady and keeping my plants alive. Very accurate with temperature for being triggered on and off, I really love the automatic setting. Previously, I purchased another model with just high and low temperature settings, but that's only useful if you are actively near the heater to be there to turn it off when it gets too hot. For the price, I think it's a really great product. I've only used it for small, closed spaces so no clue how useful it is in a more open areas. ... show more

For an outdoor heater, this doesn’t really work well outdoors. You need to be right on top of it to feel much heat. I was reluctant to buy one of the standup propane heaters because the ceiling is a bit low and the porch is made of wood, but this unit just doesn’t cut it. It’s well made, installs easily and has held up well, but it just doesn’t produce enough heat. Better than nothing, I guess, but I wouldn’t call that a ringing endorsement. ... show more

This infrared heater is the best I've ever had. If anyone is wondering, yes, this can be used indoors. It has a stand which lets it be used vertically, with a safety "kill switch" if it is tipped over. It does not make any noise. It does not produce any fumes or odors. Because it is a vertical heater, it doesn't take up much floor space. Best of all, it is incredibly efficient. This thing seems to put out more heat at the lowest setting (900 watts) than other space heaters put out while running full blast at 1500 watts. It is "radiant" heat - there is no fan. It takes a while, but this thing WILL warm a fair sized room. We used it to keep a 12x14 room warm when our furnace went out during subzero temperatures. Sitting in front of it feels like sitting in warm sunshine or in front of a cozy campfire. Great heater! ... show more

Just received and tested. Puts out a lot of heat. 1KW setting puts out little over 1 kw and 1500 watt puts out about 1400 kw (but that is good for not taxing breaker). Looks well built. Has thermostat but not much info on programming. Kind of backwards thinking in setting the thermostat to turn on. Also doesnt turn off immediately after probe reaches setting temperature. Seems to take few minutes. Will know more after operation time. ... show more
