I bought one for the front door. I tried to open the door with the door jam in place and it wouldn’t budge. I realize nothing is fool proof, but this gadget helps. Not a bad item. But it doesn’t work to secure a door which borders a tile floor. The unit slips off. Tried it on a carpet and cement floor and worked fine. But I needed it for a tile floor so I returned it.

installed this product using the supplied boot extensions on two different doors. tested by jiggling door vigorously. in all cases, the back foot slipped and gave way within seconds. consulted manual and videos to ensure with certainty the install was done correctly. Even had my wife watch video and verify I installed correctly (because that's when you really know if you did it incorrectly). We could not get this product to secure the door, and thus have returned it. I'm sure in situations where a floor is not sealed, the back foot can get more friction and would be more useful. However, because this product did not function at all on our floor and im sure has been tested on sealed hardwoods with similar results, I'm leaving one star as it was a waste of time and resources getting it. ... show more

With the rate of violence in the workplaces and schools increasing this is a must buy! I bought for my sister since she works in a school. We tested it out and I’ll tell you the only thing that was broken down was my body after trying to get the door down. I’m VERY happy with this! Knowing if an emergency lives will be saved!! I travel often sleep in diffrent hotels and cities arund the world. So i was excited to see this product. Worked very well on 2 hotel doors slept much better knowing door was secured from inside. I have had many many times a maid or some unknown person has been able to just open the hotel room door and I have many many times been issued a hotel room key by mistake to a occupied hotel room. And until last year I thought i would be safe by using the little swing latch on the hotel door to lock from inside. However a hotel worker said they have a tool to open the door from the outside. And with terrorism and hostage situations I decided to spend the 50$ for this door hammer. Hpwever i found on many doors it is too short. And when I'm screwing out the door stopper portion it maxed out. And the screw piece feels like it will just fall off if pressure is put on the door from opening. So this item will work on some doors but if the hotel room door is 1 or 2 inches off the ground then the door jammer is not long enough and not affective. ... show more
