I was looking for a heat lamp for my dogs on these cold winter nights. Bought this and all I can say is WOW. Works great. Low and high setting, hanged it up, plugged it in and Viola, the dogs are comfy and cozy under the lamp. Great product at an amazing price. (Update) so, I've been using this for about a week and a half now, and the dogs absolutely love it. It is kept them nice and warm when temperatures have gone down into the low 30s / upper 20s. That said, when I went to go turn it off this afternoon, I saw a collection of moth carcasses trapped in the grill. I have attached a photo showing exactly what I mean. I guess I'm going to have to stay on this and make sure it stays clean, otherwise I'm concerned about a potential fire hazard. ... show more

Right size and color. Good value. Plan to use only on the 600 w level as we did not hard-wire the item on our covered porch. The wire coming off the top of the light fixture is impossible to camouflage as it is strung across to a wall for either plugging or wiring. Nevertheless, with the help of some conduit I was able to straighten the plug wire and make it look better. ... show more

As above ^. Was satisfied with heat output until it stopped working only a few months of use. I will correct this review if the seller rectifies. UPDATE (picture added above): took the bottom cover off and one of the electrical connections was melted. Appears it was in contact with the plastic outer case which was exposed to the heat (because it acts as a heat shield), causing it to transfer the heat directly to the electrical connection and thus melted it breaking the circuit. I was able to re-establish the connection by removing the insulation and reconnecting the wire. It works again. I also bent the connectors away from contacting the outer plastic cover so they wont melt again -- something that could and should have been avoided during manufacturing. This must be why so many of these heat lamps stop working. ... show more

This product is great so long as your expectations are within it’s capacity. We hung it right above where we lounge on our patio and can stay outside comfortably much longer with it’s warmth. Our dog likes to hunker under it, too. The wind will disperse the heat and render it ineffective. Thinking of getting a second one for further down the couch. ... show more

Heater measures just 17 inches across. Comes on quickly and begins to heat, but is too small to heat people siting around a 31/2 by 5 ft patio table. Item returned.
