Description

Developlus Color Oops Color Remover (Extra Strength) (Pack of 2) - Oops! Not the color you wanted? Don't worry. Color Oops is the perfect product for you! It reverses the oxidation process of hair color pigment. When hair color is applied, small clear dye intermediates are deposited in the hair. During the coloring process, hydrogen peroxide oxidizes the dye intermediates into large colorful pigments that are too big to be washed from hair. Color Oops reverses that process. When applied, Color Oops shrinks the color pigment back to small clear dye intermediates. These intermediates are still in the hair. Then rinse and shampoo process is essential in assuring these intermediates are thoroughly washed from hair. We recommend washing and rinsing for 5 minutes 3-4 times, but the longer you rinse the better. If any of the dye intermediates are left in the hair, they can re-oxidize over time and your hair can re-darken. Don't let your hair win the battle over color. Take back control. Color Oops can help you do it.

  • It works
I was incredibly skeptical since I’ve never used this before. I have had years and years of hair dye in my hair. It does dry your hair so I would recommend using a hair mask. I do love this it worked so good on the first try I went from dark to blonde again almost close to my natural hair color. It works I did wrap a towel around my head with the cap that came with in order to keep the heat in. ... show more

  • Not for dark hair
I have professionally died black hair and wanted to go a little lighter at the roots for an ombré effect. The color oops did pretty much nothing (eh whatever, just saw it as a $20 loss). Decided to bleach it (as I have done before, went to cosmetology school) and my hair is falling out in clumps, breaking off parts of it won’t even dry and have that “gummy” feeling. I’ve never had this happen with straight using bleach - glad that some people had good results but I wouldn’t recommend if you have dark hair. ... show more

  • Came out as expected
I wouldn’t necessarily call this a miracle worker as others did, but it basically came out as expected. I have thick, medium brown hair that touches to the middle of my back. I have dyed and highlighted my hair multiple times in the past 3 years. I started out with some highlights, and then got sick of the lighter hair and changed to dying my hair dark chocolate brown. I kept dying my hair to keep up with the roots, and then I finally got sick of dying my hair altogether. This seemed like the way to go as spending $50 on hair products and DIY-ing it sounded better than a $300+ salon visit, and I figured I could always go to the salon if I completely screwed it up. I went through the Color Oops process twice (24 hours apart from each other just to see the results) using two boxes of Extra Strength each time for the full 20 minutes. After the first time, I could tell a slight difference however not as much as I expected. I did rinse my hair for 45 minutes in total, shampooing 3 or so times. The first time I did this I rinsed in the sink with my head bent over it…DO NOT DO THAT. My neck hurt for three days straight afterwards. The second time I did it I just rinsed in the shower which was much easier. I used an argan oil based deep conditioner afterwards each time which left my hair almost as soft as it was before. It was still kinda dark and brassy overall but definitely closer to the medium brown I began with years ago. The roots came out a completely different color than the rest of the hair, a light brown with A LOT of red in it. I assume it came out that way because the roots have only been dyed once and maybe I shouldn’t have left it on for the full twenty on my roots each time, but I thought it would be too difficult to evenly distribute the color from the roots down and not have a distinct line. So I bought a box of Foam Permanent Color in light brown (the box and everyone on here said go lighter). I put the color on my roots only and left it in for 3 minutes after I saw the color looked very dark. After rinsing, it was still lighter than the rest of my hair however there’s not as much of a distinct line and it’s less noticeable. I will recommend using John Frieda Color Glaze after this process if your hair came out too brassy. I bought the kind for cool-toned browns. I do have some red/warmth to my hair color naturally, but the glaze neutralizes the brassiness without making it look ashy (I also leave it on the roots only for a few minutes which makes the hair color seem more seamless as well). Also- the smell was not as bad as everyone was saying. I didn’t notice it at all while I was using the product. I noticed a slight eggy smell in my apartment the next day after leaving and then coming back, but a few candles and some fans rid the apartment of the scent completely within a few hours. ... show more

  • Smells but works very well!
I’ve used Color Oops many many MANY times before, but never written a review for it. I’ll write about this last two uses. I purchased the two pack twice (4 boxes), I have to use two boxes a time to really make sure my hair is saturated.. I have really thick hair and a lot of it. I triple bag the hair with disposable shower caps to hold the liquid and the god awful smell in. Follow the directions to the T! When it said to rinse the first time for 20min, do that! Make sure your hot water heater is working well and spend as much time as possible rinsing out your hair as you can, this is a huge part in removing the color. As for that smell?? After a few washes it does go away, so don’t fret. This last time using this, I started with my hair being boxed dye Garnier Nutrisse #11 Blackest Black (peppercorn). I sadly forgot to take the before photo so image a super dark black. After the first two boxes I got it down to a brown/red, I then waited two-three days (mostly cause of shipping, I didn’t buy the 4 boxes at the same time) and then used it again… now I have a lighter reddish brown. I’m happy with the color (IT DOES NOT BRING YOU BACK TO YOUR NATURAL HAIR COLOR) (I’m a natural dark ash blonde)…I’ll probably dye it later though. If you do dye after using Color Oops, keep in mind that your hair is super porous right now and whatever color you choose will come out darker than the desired result … so buy a few shades lighter then what you want. I think that covers it. Pretty much, read the instructions and don’t expect a miracle in this box… expect some color removal. This isn’t bleach so be happy it isn’t completely destroying your hair. ... show more

  • Didn't work this time
I’ve used Color Oops successfully in the past, which is why I was surprised when this latest application didn’t remove much of the color. While the strong chemical smell is typical for color removers, this time, the product didn’t seem to work as effectively. I’m unsure if the issue was due to the product being outdated or if there has been a change in the formula, but the results were not up to par with what I’ve come to expect. Pros: Trusted Brand: Generally reliable for color removal in previous uses. Strong Formula: Designed to handle tough color removals. Cons: Ineffective This Time: Did not remove much color, leading to disappointing results. Strong Smell: The chemical smell is intense, though this is common with similar products. ... show more
