My wife became obsessed with professional grade non-stick pans after taking a cooking course in France. This Choc brand is a popular one among French restaurants, judging by the large stock of them at De Hilleran. So far, it has been performing superbly, although not any better than the cheap non-stick pan she made me replace. The third rivet tends to get in my way when making omelets and the bottom is a sharper corner than the graceful curve of my previous omelet pan. The one advantage is this one is all metal, so I can finish in the oven if I need to. (That also means the handle gets pretty hot though.) I had a great experience with some fish filets, which have a tendency to get stuck to whatever they are cooking. Overall, I believe this is a great pan that will last for years. Whether it was worth replacing a perfectly good cheap pan... the jury is still out. ... show more

Had it for a few weeks and have used it maybe 4-5 times. Appears to be of better quality than cheaper ones and seems to heat evenly. So far so good and no reason to give it any less then 5 stars at this time!

I recieved the pan, and rinsed it out,placed it on the stove to heat the pan with low to medium setting. Then I added a teaspoon of canola oil, and cooked a small boneless pork chop. I shut off the stove, removed pan from stove to allow it to cool.Later after eating I went to clean the pan and noticed about a 9 inch hair like crack in the inside center bottom of the pan. So I have wasted 50 dollars because this pan will not last any longer than the cheapos do. I would like the seller to contact me but the website seems to have a problem. I am due some sort of compensation I think. The pan is to big and awkward to repackage and return. ... show more

I have had this pan for almost 9 months and it works great and the classic de Buyer handle looks wonderful. It is fairly heavy due to its size but I am able to use it to cook large amounts of food. It is oven safe and can be washed in the dishwasher (but I usually hand was mine to keep the coating from deteriorating). Also, I only use nylon or silicone utensils (never metal) to protect the coating. ... show more
