  • Good light - Terrible manual, programming is hell, and customer support lacks
Size: 18" - 24"
My gawd, seriously. Who wrote the manual for this. ARGH. This light is simultaneously great and a bleeping gd nightmare. Our saltwater reef tank needed new lights, we chose these and the lights are incredible. We thought we had great lights before, but the colors of the fish and coral were spectacular with this light. The end. That's the end of the happy part. Everything else with this light makes me want to rip it down and smash into a million, billion little bits. I beg of this company to please, please, please consider a manual overhaul. Your manual is clear as mud. Programing is a nightmare. A mother lovin' flippen nightmare. Most times it doesn't work. The lights do what they do when they do. Even on lock so remote interference isn't an issue. Getting a hold of the company is a like throwing a note into the ocean and checking the shore to see what washes up. We've had this light a couple of months; the first two weeks it ran totally random despite our best efforts to program it. Could not figure it out. Fought about dechiphering the manual, was each of us even doing it right and so on. Spoke of divorce. United again over our common enemy, this effing light. Took a week and a half to connect with someone at the company. They called the day I printed the label to return it, haha. Gave us a couple tips, but we are fighting the programming on this CONSTANTLY. If it's even CLOSE to what we want we dread trying to continue to refine it because it's unresponsive or stops even turning on/off if we try to mess with programming too much. Despite the light being great, I hate this light very much. I loathe it. I hate the level of difficulty trying to simply program it, that it sticks to our program schedules sometimes, but sometimes it doesn't EVEN WHEN IN LOCK so it should't be affected by remotes for tv, fans, etc. and I dread coming home to see if it's on, or waking up at 2am and wondering WHY it's on and having to mess with it constantly. Some reviews touted amazing customer service - care to share a name and number? The general contact information for this company doesn't get you directly to a human and it's days before connecting with someone. I still have month-old emails that were never responded to when trying to troubleshoot the programming. I feel like most people buying this type of light have at least several hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars worth of fish and or corals depending on functional lights, I was hopeful to have a live person to answer and help. Especially with a manual clear as mud. Bottom line, this damn thing is high on frustration and low on satisfaction. Unless I'm working at NASA, nothing should be this difficult to set up and fine tune. ... show more

  • Overall good light but can't change how long actinic stays on like older model.
Size: 72"
Good light for long tanks not many 72" lights out there, its low profile and has continued to work well. I would give it 5 stars BUT there is no way to change the duration of Actnic channel or daylight, one duration for both :( their cheaper version lets you control both independantly and I assumed that this would let you also but there is no way. I would like my actinics to stay on 2 hours longer then this will allow. It's not as natural to have it day light all day and then only an hour of actnic. That's like the sun staying at noon all day then the sun setting for an hour. Surprised that this newer model lost that function. ... show more

  • Very nice system
Size: 36" - 48"
I’m keeping zoas, hammer coral, brain coral, green stars, and 3 bubble tip anemones with no issues. The light arrived damaged but amazon was quick to correct the issue. I’ve added one power head so far to the system and it works flawlessly. Very easy to set up.

  • Very well made system.. Well thought out
Size: 48" - 60"
This is a great lighting system. I did purchase two because I feel the one was not adequate for my corals. Lot's of adjustments make it a very good high end lighting system for a reef tank.. I also have the Eflux wave pumps and flow pumps as well. The touch pad clicker is OK. Current -USA is due to come out with a Bluetooth module and Android/IPhone software this month which will make the system totally awesome. I would have given it 5 stars, but the clicker is the weak link of the product.. C'mon Orbit lets get the Bluetooth module and software out as promised 2/18/2018 I'm still waiting for the Bluetooth controller and IPhone App as promised. I have included a few pictures of my reef tank. One thin I don't like is all the power supplies for every part of this complete system. Since I have a back up power unit I don't like having six transformers when one with multiple DC connections would work fine, Overall though I am pleased with the results. ... show more

  • Updated: Great light! PSent me a warped/damaged light
Size: 72"
Update from 2-5 stars. Original: Just received my light yesterday. It is not flat at all. It bowed/warped. There is a scratch on the top and there was no protective plastic on the LED light - all this leaves me to believe this was a returned product that was then sent out to me. VERY disappointed. I paid $270 for a defective product. It’s a big light and the box was torn up during the unpacking....so, not easy to return. The light itself seems to work fine. I spent a lot of money on a beautiful 185 gallon display tank for the entrance of my home and wanted a sleek, unnoticeable LED; instead I have a bowed strip light laying on top. Update: Customer service was very quick to respond and instantly sent me out a replacement light. It was nice and flat/straight. Perfect! Now if I could only figure out how to program it. I have tried multiple times but still can’t get it to work. So for now I have to manually turn it on/off each day. ... show more

  • Great Product!
Size: 24" - 36"
I have 2 of the 24-36" on my 36 bow mixed reef. My tank is 23" deep and my coral love the light. I have softies and LPS and have great extension and growth. I have Finger Leathers, Cabbage Leathers, Blue Metallic Mushrooms, Duncans, Blastomussa, Acans, GSP, Candy Canes, and Hammers. Sunrise and sunset feature is great, set it and forget it... The only reason I only gave it 4 stars is I would like to have an option to adjust the moonlight phase which is hard set at 6 hrs. I did read that this can be adjusted; however, you have to purchase the Bluetooth adapter and use the phone app to do it. I would definately purchase this light again. ... show more
