  • Super easy setup for the perfect toxin free water Super easy setup for the perfect toxin free water
This is an unbiased review of the Culligan with MaxClear Water Filter System. Packaged nicely with all parts and pieces needed. Easy to follow instruction booklet however I also watched a nice video that explained the instructions easily. Comes with a total of four filters but only two needed for setup. The hardest part for me was installing the spout, but otherwise very easy to put together. Definitely need to wash the filters prior to install as there is a chalking film on them. But this also comes with sponges in order to wipe the filters off. Has a nice stand which helps to place a glass under the spout. This filter system will take a full 8 hours to filter water, so keep that in mind. The water after filtration tastes amazing, free of lead, microplastics, chlorine and chloramphenicol to name a few. Overall I really do love this system, I love having toxins removed from my water. This does take up counter space so also keep that in mind as well. I do have room in my pantry for this to sit and then I can go in and grab perfect water to drink. Love!!! ... show more

  • Great Gravity Filter System - Attractive, Durable, Long-Lasting, Neutral Taste Great Gravity Filter System - Attractive, Durable, Long-Lasting, Neutral Taste
I had never used a gravity filtration system before, but after using this, I'm not sure I can go back. Yes, the system and the filters are expensive, but if you look at the amount of water they filter, the total amount of solids/particulates that they remove, and the fact that there's almost no plastic in the filter or unit at all, they become a much more appealing prospect. Plus, other cheaper filters have drastically shorter lifespans (in addition to filtering less), so it kind of evens out. Setting up the unit couldn't have been easier. The pieces stack together intuitively, and the directions for how to attach the spout were incredibly easy to follow. Honestly, the trickiest part about the setup was hand-washing the parts before putting it together. The unit is rock-solid, as well. It's a big system for sure (as you can see in my attached picture, it blocks my kitchen cabinets, but I don't leave it there anyway), but it doesn't move once it's in place. There are grippy feet underneath the stand, there's a grippy pad that goes between the stand and the unit itself, and the pieces all nest so that it won't move once assembled. When you first fill it up, there are 2 gallons of water in the top part which I would have thought would make it tippy, but it really isn't. Something I didn't realize before using this though is that gravity filters are slow. The manual states that each filter has a working flow rate of 4 gallons per day. With 2 filters (or 3 in the 3-gallon version), that rate doubles up, but this is still not a water filtration system for the gym. It's more than enough for a family as long as people stay on top of refilling it, but it's worth mentioning. The water is beautifully neutral tasting, with no hint of metallic or plastic nonsense, and no mineral taste whatsoever. It dispenses out of the spout pretty quickly, and the flow rate from the spout is very adjustable. It seals up tight as well, with no leaks whatsoever, so I'm not sure what more you could ask from something like this. I highly recommend it. It's a pretty huge filtration system and it does filter slowly, but the water is beautifully clean-tasting, the filters last a long time, and it's an attractive system overall. I use it heavily every day, and I honestly bet you will too. ... show more

  • Seller review. All problems due to poorly boxed, high quality items.
Whomever this seller is threw a bunch of high quality products into a large box to bounce around during shipping. Tons of dust, looked like it sat in a warehouse for years.

  • Great for remote locations.
I generally trust the water quality of most of the places we visit in the RV, but don't always like the taste of the water in some of these stops. This Culligan water filter has greatly improved the taste and quality of the water at all of our stops. Really quick to set up and easy to use. No power required, just assemble the filters and pour in the water. It does take a while because it is gravity powered and takes several hours for the water to drip through the filters. But it does work and produces excellent tasting water. So far it has filtered out all the bad tastes and leaves the water crystal clear with no odd colors. This device is well made, simple to use, and offers a great value. ... show more

  • You can trust Culligan You can trust Culligan
Each your I spend several months during the summer at a campground. I get water at the campground. I always thought the water was refreshing and it didn't have any taste to it and it was always clear. This year I got a little fussy. I checked with the dissolved solids in the water and I found it to be about 160. It is acceptable at this level but it is slightly higher than I wish to have. Plus I didn't know what those solids are. I talked to the campground owners and they told me the water comes out of a well completely untreated. Now I became even fussier about the water I drank here. So I began to think about what should I do. I could do bottled water. It's not too expensive, but it is an annoyance and I don't like all that plastic, especially when we're talking about the microplastics now. I could do reverse osmosis but on on that hand it requires more pressure than what the campground has. Well I could do like the Brita filters but that's for small quantities and it really just helps improve the taste. It really doesn't get rid of some of the harmful products that might be in the water. So I went on to Amazon to see what the market has to offer and I found these gravity filters that are ceramic. I was not familiar with them so I began to study them. This seemed to be exactly what I needed. I found several brands that were constantly repeated and I found this Culligan brand. What I liked about the Culligan brand is they came right out and said they were tested and I can go and look up what the values are to see how pure the water would be. I also found out that Culligan had a slight advantage over the other products out there. So I decided this is the best one to get. It came and I was surprised how large it is. It is 2 and 1/2 gallons so it's got to be at least that size. There's no moving parts in it. There's no electrical connection and there's no hookup to your water system for campground. It sounded almost too perfect. What really caught me was their continuance of saying it clears away Microplastics. There is a little bit of assembly, not much, just a few screws and putting the pieces together. It's very simple. It only take about 5 to 10 minutes. You can use one or two ceramic filters at a time. The advantage of using two ceramic filters at the same time is that it will filter the water faster. These gravity flow systems are very slow. With two filters it would be half the time. I only used one cuz I have all the time in the world. So I ran the water through the ceramic filtering system several times as I was instructed to do. I then took my first draw to see what it tasted like. It was pretty much tasteless. There were no particles floating in it and it was very clear. I tested the mineral content with my TDS meter and it didn't change from what the tap water was. That kind of surprised me. However, the instruction manual said that it will clear out the bad stuff and leave the good stuff. So that's what I'm counting on. I'm happy that I got the Culligan brand and as I found out the Culligan filter is interchangeable with some of the other brands. So if I didn't like the Culligan filter I could get another brand and use it with this. The construction of this product is unbelievable. It is really good. It is stainless steel throughout. It has a stand with non-skid feet and on top of that is the reservoir of clean water and that has a spout to pour the water out. And on top of that is where the unfiltered water goes with the filter and on top of that is a lid. That's it folks. I'm happy I got this. I'm happy with the results. I feel good because the water doesn't contain the bad stuff now. As a result I give this product 5 stars. ... show more

  • Excellent Build Quality Excellent Build Quality
The build quality on this product is quite exceptional. It’s a nice thick gauge of stainless steel, with properly polished edges. The stand has nicely rounded edges as well, something I have not seen on another famous brand of gravity water systems. That said, even with four filters included, I find the price to be very high for the amount of material involved. This is not a big water container, and even in my household of two, we can go through the 2.5 gallons probably in a day and a half. Also, considering the cost of some of my stainless steel cookware, this system seems excessively expensive, and as for the filters at a little over $65 each, it just seems too much. Also, one must consider these filters offer a very low capacity compared to my other brand-name system. Yes they are ceramics and I guess that is different, and certainly the flow rate is different. It just becomes quite an expensive operation replacing filters every few months. Of course, this is my opinion on the price versus value ratio, and I know others may not consider it that expensive at all. Cost of the water is always a factor for me. We use a lot of filtered water in our household. Yes, this would be a better alternative than most any bottled water that you might invest in, not to mention you store your water in stainless steel and not plastic. As for the water quality, it is exceptional, no question about it! It simply tastes fantastic, so based on that criteria certainly I could recommend it. The spigot is also a good quality feature of the system. They didn’t skimp and give you a cheap plastic one like comes with some other systems. ... show more

  • Great water filtration system
We’ve had a Berkey water filter system in the past and this works just as well without the Berkey cost plus we got extra replacement filters and the stand. If you care about the quality of the water you’re drinking, purchase this filtration system that will reduce the contaminants.
