I'm going to review this unique individual, RIGHT HERE. Got this particular device in yesterday. While after reading this you may feel compelled to rush to Amazon or an alternative online or local dealership to purchase this, but do be weary prior to having knowledge of this tale of caution: I was able to claim ownership on a device for far cheaper, indicating that waiting on stock to replenish at a reasonable price would be a far superior decision. Think of a George Foreman, and then think of what he could be if his name was George Fiveman. This is the Cuisinart Griddler Deluxe, model number GR-150 Featured here are TWO (count' em) TWO hotplates that are easy to snap on and off and are coated with a serious nonstick spray that makes cleaning that much easier. Dishwasher? By hand? The choice is yours. But the plates don't stop there. They get hot, yes. But did you know they also TRANSFORM? One side has ridges, as to prop your meats into the air to better allow fat to drain into the center grease tray. The other side? Flat. Griddle your breakfast of champions, champion. We cannot stop the hype train quite right now on the hotplates, as there's a phenomenal quality to this machine. The panini-press like machine will gladly fold it's top open FLAT. Now, at first we were playing with 120 square inches (10 inches x 12 inches) top and bottom. But after we've opened the machine, letting its popping, sizzling wings splay we're gifted with 240 inches ( (10 inches x 12 inches) + (10 inches x 12 inches) ) of cooking area! Friends let me tell you I made 8 pancakes at once on this machine. Before on regular pans, I could only hope for 2. Got your TICKETS? Train is still rolling as we move onto an unexpected contender for the "neat things" titletude is the... closing mechanism?....! A particular feature of this device is that when you choose to close the lid down, you can choose and set a height to achieve different cooking scenarios. Sear both sides of a steak without squishing the morsel, thus destroying the original intent of searing a steak. Give bacon the iconic ~wavy~ shape that it has been portrayed in your favorite shows on TV. Toast your arti`san bread from the arti`san bread store owned and operated by arti`sanly artisans . Being in IT, I can tell you that information is technology. When turned to a heavenly desired temperature, the knobs will let glow a red LED. When the accompanying knob for either top plate or bottom plate reaches the commanded temperature, the aforementioned LED will glow green. With this information, you'll be able to make more efficient kitchen decisions on a day to day basis. I've mentioned this before, but the Cuisinart Griddler Deluxe, model GR-150, has a soft spot for Searing Samaritans. Two buttons for both horizontally aligned plates labeled "SEAR" will increase a particular electronic quality in the machine to boost the temperature of the plates to 500 degrees Featherweight for precisely two minutes. If you remember your adjustable top mentioned early, you can do this on both sides. At the same time. A four minute process is now a two minute process, a 50% decrease in time spent applying heat to the steak. From a personal experience, I was watching the 2016 presidential election while I put on a large amount of bacon, set the machine to 250 degrees, and closed it leaving just the tiniest bit of space so the bacon was not completely burned. As I watched events unfold, the TV became metaphorically adhesive. Two hours passed, and the thought of bacon cooking entered my mind. A quick rush to the machine left me anticipating burnt disappointment. I opened the lid revealing perfectly brown golden crispy bacon. Both edible and delicious! I feel this griddler is something of a friend. Truly inspiring. Truly. ... show more

  • A very versatile grill/panini press
Size: Deluxe
I wanted a panini press for a while and never got around to getting one. I love to cook and after my surgery I needed something easy I could do while sitting and a panini press seemed like a good way to go. So after a lot of research I decided on the Griddler. I could not be happier. Besides traditional paninis I have made garlic flatbread using fresh dough, hash browns with cheese and bacon, grilled chicken parm sandwiches, hamburgers, "mac griddles" and other breakfast sandwiches. For the grilled chicken parm I use the grill for the whole meal from grilling the chicken to panini pressing the final sandwich. In between grilling the chicken and making the sandwiches I just wipe the grill (carefully) with paper towels. For my mac griddles I use my English Muffin rings and the griddle side of the plates. Put waffle batter (a little thicker then I normally make it for waffles) in the rings and close the press. I take the "waffle muffin" and cool it a little, slice in half and make a sausage and egg sandwich. Of course the sausage and eggs are cooked on the Griddler. Now that I can stand and cook again, I still use the Griddler all the time even for my burgers, they come out great. Being able to adjust height between plates while cook means all the juices are not forced out of the burger. A 5 ounce burger cooked to medium in 3 and a half minutes. And it is easy to slide a digital probe between plates into burger and measure temperature while cooking. The Griddler has very uniform heating across the surface, no hot spots. I like the fact that the plates are removable making it easy to clean and having a grill and griddle side gives a lot of cooking options. I highly recommend this the Griddler, I started wanting a panini press and got an appliance that does a lot more. ... show more

  • Does A Very Good Job Searing Steaks
Size: Deluxe
I mainly purchased this Cuisinart GR-150P1 Deluxe Electric Griddler for searing steaks that have been sous vide cooked. This Griddler does a very good job of searing steaks. I have also used it to make Paninis, grill cheese sandwiches and other sandwiches. This Griddler has a lot of cooking area. With the removable cooking plates, cleanup is a very easy. I need to use this Griddler more. The only issue that I have is that the cooking plates do not always lock in place, so I make a point of looking to see if the plates are secure within the retaining clips. You press a button to release the plates for cleaning and sometimes the plates do not snap in place at the clips when the plates reinstalled. You may have to press the release button and install the plates to make sure the plates are securely in place. Here is the review ranking basis that I have adopted: ⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality. ⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend. ... show more

  • It’s an electric grill, not bad but not great.
Size: Deluxe
I always wanted one of these. They looked so cool. So my husband got me a cheaper version which we had for years until it went out recently. I’ll compare this machine to the cheaper version. 1. The griddler takes much longer to preheat. Mine takes about 15 minutes at the least to preheat. 2. I purchased the larger model to make pizza. It’s really not a good machine to make pizza neither was the smaller off brand. You can control how far the heating element is from your pizza but there’s too much air flow to melt cheese. Although I will say cooking the raw dough and flipping was good. The crust get a great crisp. 3. Paninis(my favorite part) we use the griddler to make paninis and they are wonderful. This crisps the bread whether you butter it or not when making a panini. But compared to the cheaper version it takes longer. Where I used to cook paninis in 3 minutes this machine takes 10 on 450 degrees sometimes I even use the seat function to make paninis which is strange if you ask me. 4. The dear function is useless. I’ve never used an electric grill of any kind that could hold its heat long enough to actually seat meat. I wouldn’t throw a precious steak in it for sure because it’ll come out a gray unattractive color without sear marks. My final thoughts on this. If you like paninis you’ll like this. If you like grilling veggies you’ll like this. But this is not going to cook a steak properly and so I’d say no to cooking meat on it. Making pizza is also strange. The crust will be good but the cheese doesn’t melt well or it takes a long time. We eat paninis once a week. So this machine is good for us. Try making Parmesan crisps or cheddar crisps with the griddler because this is something that this machine does unbelievably well. It’s what it does best and we found out by accident making paninis. If you have a less expensive option like a GE electric grill I’d advise that. You really don’t need the larger cook surface unless you’re cooking for multiple people. Also the grill pans are dishwasher safe, I want to mention that because our last machine went dishwasher safe. So that’s a plus going for it. ... show more

  • Nice grill that can cook food three styles. Nice grill that can cook food three styles.
Size: Deluxe
You can grill steaks using the ridged side, use smooth side for a variety of food. The none stick surface cleans up very easy. I've been using for five month's, twice a week and none stick hasn't discolored even when set on sear mode. Some have said griddle doesn't drain. The actual griddle has a slight slope cast into it and does drain to back. It's not a G. Forman which is sloped so much I had trouble with food sliding off before I can close it. Attached is a video of bacon cooking on my griddle. If you look close at grease, it is slowly draining. I like to cook steaks or hamburger in its own grease which gives better flavor. Sear Mode works great. See picture of steak with sear marks. Steak cooked to internal temperature 127* using Thermapen. In 4 minutes. Medium rare. I also bought waffle griddle insert. This model will make six waffles at a time. Love this griddle. 04/07/2026 Followup on this grill which I purchased around five years ago. After using this griddle on average 2 or3 times a week. Sometimes for AM and PM meals, It gave out. My opinion of this grill is the same as when this review was first posted. There are two bits of guidance. 1st, I don't rely on temperature degree setting. I use infrared gun. 2nd the regular grill plates have held most of their nonstick ability but one did warp a little, causing a little extra pressure installing to allow the holding clips to engage. I personally think using the high heat sear setting is the cause. I just set temprature to 350* and put meat on when my infrared gun tells me the griddle is 350* works good for burgers. For steaks 400* This method keeps griddle plates from heating to 500 using Sear. I have replaced my dead Cuisinart with a new exactly same model. That way my waffle grillplates will fit. 04/07/2026 Thanks, Cuisinart. ... show more

  • Outstanding Panini Press
Size: Deluxe
We upgraded from the George Foreman Grill. It did the job but it was small with no heat control. We use it mostly for panini sandwiches and grilling chicken. The Griddler Deluxe is big enough to fit up to four sandwiches and has top & bottom heat control. In addition, there is a height adjustment for the top plate. It cooked our reuben sandwiches to perfection. There was no crushing on one side or burning and the cheese melted evenly. it's easy to use and clean. Just be careful that the top cover gets very hot. Well worth the investment. ... show more

  • This is an excellent griddle and sandwich press, but it's huge!
Size: Deluxe
I had the GR-4 for several years and loved using it. I love using this one just as much, but keep in mind this is huge and you likely won't be shoving it in a corner on your counter between uses so it makes it a lottle bit more of a chore to use. But if you're wanting to make a dozen grilled cheese sandwiches to feed 6 people for lunch (all at once no less), this is definitely the way to go. One thing I have noticed with all of the griddlers I've owned, for some reason the top plate doesn't get quite as hot so if you're closing it to cook both sides of something, you may need to turn the temp up just slightly for the top plate. ... show more

  • It is what it is...and it works!
Size: Deluxe
Hey, grill marks do not make grill flavor. This machine is a grill mark maker, nothing more. If you're looking for that great smoky outdoor grill taste that you get from charcoal or wood-fired grilling, this ain't it! Unless I'm missing some secret, there's just no substitute for the real thing. So far I've cooked burgers and kabobs and it's simply not the same as outdoor grilling with fire and smoke. I flavor my burgers too, with seasonings and Worcestershire, always have, and they still didn't turn out right. I'll keep at it. Perhaps there's a way to infuse that grilling goodness into meats on this thing? On the other hand, this Griddler Deluxe electric grill is awesome in its own right! Veggies cook wonderfully, at least as good as sauteing in a pan without all the oil. Ham and cheese sandwiches are the bomb! Nicely pressed and hot! I look forward to more kinds of hot sandwiches for sure. Pancakes, eggs, and bacon come out perfectly. The Griddler has a lot of positive cooking attributes. I use it almost daily because it does work well. It just ain't no grill! I wish you could set the sear function for a longer period of time. Two minutes just isn't long enough for some things. I guess that's my hope of getting more grill type flavor into meats? Clean up is pretty easy. I've only cleaned the grill plates by hand and it can be somewhat of a chore. I have not put them in the dishwasher yet. But I will next time. I noticed that the grill plate retainer clips get cooked on food on them. It's kinds tough to clean those little metal tabs. I also notice that raising the cooking temp while cooking, that the bottom grill temp never came up to the new heat setting while the top did. Both LED's turned red when I raised the temp, then the top turned green and the bottom one remained red for the rest of the cooking cycle. It has done that for a couple of meals. There was also a corner on that same lower heating element that did not seem to be the same temp as the rest of the surface. Not sure if these issues will end up being a problem or not just yet? We'll see. At least it looks like the heating elements are easily replaced. I would recommend the Griddler Deluxe. But again, if you are looking for that outdoor grill flavor, you will not get it from this product. And again, unless I'm not doing something right, it just ain't the same. For what it is, it works great! Anyway, the Griddler has a lot of positive cooking attributes. I'll keep it around, especially for hot sandwiches and breakfast! Yeah! Does a great job for that stuff. ... show more
