I use this thing for literally everything now. I make breakfast pancakes on the flat side and then flip the plates to grill steaks or paninis for dinner. The fact that the plates are reversible and removable makes it so much more useful than my old grill. Cleaning is a breeze because I can just pop the plates right into the dishwasher. The meat thermometer is actually a really cool addition that I didn't think I would use but it makes cooking steak perfectly so much easier. It gets hot super fast and the controls are really intuitive. Honestly it replaced like three other appliances in my kitchen and saves me so much counter space.

I tried the Chefman brand in this same price range, and was surprised at the bad design of the timer aspect, as well as the hinge for the top section of grill. After careful comparisons, I tried this Cattleman brand, and it's much better. The timer works the way you would expect, and it's easy to make changes to both the timer and the temperature even while it's cooking. Hinge works better, and the whole thing has an auto-off feature so there is no way to leave it on for hours. Size is pretty optimal, and the top doesn't even get that hot when grilling. Of course, removable plates is awesome.

Here is my review after using it for the first time. I'm glad I didn't listen to negative reviews. 1:The pre-heating was very fast, only a couple of minutes. 2:The size of the cooking surface was large. I had 3 large chicken breast, 2 whole, 1 cut in half and had plenty of room. 3:Controls were easy to use and understand. 4:I used the temperature probe, which was easy to attach and had no problem with it being secure. When the chicken was done I also checked it with another meat thermometer and it was the same temperature. 5:At first I thought I would be disappointed because the lid was not a floating lid, it said it had a double damping hinge structure. I wasn't sure what that was. It seemed like the lid was stiff but I realized that you could open it to any amount that you wanted or you could lay it back flat and have it as a double grill. No extra buttons to push. Being that you can stop it at any angle within 180° you can choose how much pressure to put on food or not touch it at all. 6:I had no splatter on the counter and the cooking time was short. 7:Cleaning up was a breeze with the removable grill plates. 8:This was only my first time using but I'm glad I chose this grill and I would recommend it.

This Grill was easy to set up. Comes with great instructions and looks nice on my countertop. The 1600 W makes a good hot grill for searing and works well to cook steak, hamburgers, chicken, grilled cheese, etc.

I wanted an upgrade from my simple waffle iron to support "big daddy breakfasts" on the weekend for my growing family and this thing knocks that completely out of the parks and then some! Its super easy to clean and idiot proof to cook with consistency. I can say without prejudice I have never made a more perfect grilled cheese and it does 4 at a time! Between all that and "wife approved" shape, size, and appearance it has earned itsself a permanent home on the kitchen counter.

UPDATE: Jan. 30, 2026: While making steak tonight, the grill died. We thought we blew a circuit, so carried it to another outlet, but it was the grill. Just completely dead. Was it worth the price for 18 months? Not really. I liked this grill but will probably not purchase another. After years of owning Foreman grills without removable plates, we thought we'd give something else a try. This is a substantial unit and feels very solid. The plates are easy to remove and wash, and it's totally cool that you can open this grill flat and have one side smooth (for eggs) and the other rippled (for bacon). My two complaints are that the edges of the grill get very, very hot and if you accidentally touch the grill when you're grabbing the handle you're going to get burned. The other is that the sensor piece that you push into meat and then into the unit doesn't make a great connection and so you have to keep jiggling it when you're cooking to get the temperature. The controls are not intuitive, so don't lose the instruction booklet.

Nice grill for the new kitchen. Tried multiple times. It’s easy to control and heated fast. The portable plates are very convenient for cleaning. And the double side grill style is helpful when cooking different food. Overall, it’s a useful tool if you want to make sandwiches and bacon.
