I’ve been searching for a griddle for a long time, but didn’t want to spend so much money in one. I’ve read multiple reviews on different products and most of the other products would say that the food wouldn’t heat up evenly. So, although I was skeptical about purchasing this one and going through the same issue, I needed one as we just moved to a new house and we are still waiting for my cooking pots and pans to be here. This has been the best purchase! We make easy and quick breakfast, and I love how we can quickly make mini pancakes for school lunch for my daughter. The pancakes and everything we cook on it heats up evenly. No issues! The best part, in my opinion, is that I can remove the plug and wash the plate by hand. I don’t like just wiping things down, as I’m not a big fan of leaving grease behind. So it works out perfectly for what we needed. We have used this griddle for the past 7 months and the cooking element/surface works great like our last one. What I find exceptional is the ease of cleaning. The cooking surface nonstick has been reliable. Once it is cooled, it wipes down easily to remove the grease and solids left. Then just a quick wash in the sink. Been looking at this griddle for a while and finally saw it for a good price. This is the "deluxe" model so the cooking surface can be lifted off with handles for cleaning. As you can see in the photo, it holds an entire pound of sliced bacon. I read a review that the underside, which also gets very hot from the heating element underneath, cracked the reviewer's quartz countertop. Since we also have quartz counters, I placed it onto our clean glass range top and it did fine. Made shredded hash browns, a cheese omelet and as you can see, it holds an entire pound of sliced bacon. Our range top very slightly tilts toward the back, so the bacon grease needed a little encouragement to move to the front drain groove. But once it got started, it ran through very well. Next time I'll turn it around so the drain's on the back. After the bacon finished frying, I turned it off and gently scraped the surface with a silicone spatula, pulling all the remaining melted fat and crumbs to the drain. Worked like a charm. According to Dash, the basic model's grill surface doesn't detach for washing, so I'm glad I ordered the deluxe. It washes easily in a sink under running water with a soapy sponge. (No need to fill up the dishwasher because it's rather big for that.) I've seen this for sale for $70, but I got it on a pre-Christmas sale for $40 and feel I got a great bargain. Thanks Dash! This is the 3rd of their products I've bought, been happy with all of them, and use them frequently. Recommended. ... show more
