Love this! Cooks great! Air fries great! You can cook with lid open, for eggs , burgers,ect, or closed steaks etc. To get perfect char/ crust. Thermometer true! Med well, is med well! Pretty easy to clean grill,basket,and flat grill. Lid of machine is a different story.but has a removable metal grease filter for fan. Well worth the fast, awesome results. In my research, this is the best all around air fryer for A man with 2 teen age boys! Quick steakes ,fish,chicken,pork chops,from frozen turn out awesome!! This grill works just as well as my outdoor grill and is so much easier to use! I use mine twice a day and cleanup is a breeze. I was worried about the meat sliding from several reviews but as long as you don't leave the meat unattended for more than 10 mins it won't slide. The Air Fryer setting is great and I've found it easy to clean since the excess oil just goes in the slope. The griddle is great for making stir-fry and shaved steak but because of the slope it's not for pancakes. Other than the Pancake thing the grill is easily a recommended purchase and probably my favorite kitchen appliance. ... show more

This is a great kitchen tool. The different functions all work well. It cleans easy - and has become a staple on my kitchen counter. Probably use it at least once a day. Heat up snack, make dinner - best purchase. Grilling - works great - and not smokey inside Air fry - just about anything Bake - small batch of cookies I have not dehydrated anything - so I can't speak to that function. ... show more

been using since december 2022- we are two and live in a studio with no oven/stove, and rarely eat out- this pretty much takes care of cooking daily (with induction top and instapot supplementing.) steaks taste like they came from a real grill, husband was impressed and pleased- i never use probe just grill on hi 2-3 minutes, flip for 2-3 minutes, grill turns off but stays hot so i leave mine on a couple more minutes to cook more medium after hubby's medium rare comes off. perfect for grilled chicken breast sandwiches too. love grilled or air fried zucchini. air fryer awesome for crispy bacon, fresh breaded chicken tenderloins, crispy drumsticks instead of wings (let's face it: wings are expensive & drums have more meat!) fries, potato cubes, cauliflower, coconut shrimp and yes even frozen beer-batter fish on a lazy quick dinner night... but my fave is skin on salmon: air fry then peel skin off- put skin back in to air fry a few minutes to crisp for what we dubbed fish bacon- amazing! i don't use a dishwasher (for anything) but ceramic coated grill top and air fry basket super easy to clean with dawn & water when greasy, a quick soak in warm water if something gets burnt on like seasoning, but sometimes a damp dish rag is all that's necessary for a quick wipe down. never use griddle. buying pans to try some baking, and the stacking racks for two personal size pizzas. only reason not 5-star is top is hard to clean: the screen should really span entire top like a previous smaller model, but also a button to fully open hinge on lid to clean would be helpful- an issue that has been mentioned in countless reviews in previous models as well so would be nice if company took notice and made the change. it's easier to clean when warm but hard to time that and once it fully cools impossible to remove the grease stains above. it does take up real estate on our small counter but 100% worth it, i have no place to store it other than counter top but with the weight of it i wouldn't want to be hauling it up and down anyway. i will put this in my travel van or rv in lieu of a oven any day. ... show more

I have owned the previous top-of-line grill model - the FG551 - for over a year, and that device transformed how I cook more than any other piece of kitchen equipment I've ever come across. It's just so easy to get perfectly consistent results when cooking meats, and when you're done, you can just toss the grate, pan, and screen straight into the dishwasher. It's not a charcoal/hardwood grill but you can get plenty of flavor with rubs and marinades. I stumbled upon this new model on Amazon while looking for a replacement lower pan for my FG551, as I'd used and washed the one that came with it almost every day for a year and it was starting to crack at the corners (still usable though). The big difference is that this new one does not rely solely on heat generated by the air fryer element at the top - the grill grate itself has an integral heating element, and when you install it onto the base, it makes electrical connections with two contacts that supply the current during cooking. I bought one immediately, and it has not disappointed! Compared to the previous model, unsurprisingly, this one cooks faster, which solves a major problem when cooking thicker cuts of meat. Previously, if I were cooking really thick steaks, I wanted to use higher temps to get better browning but couldn't do so because heating by air alone is just too slow. The grill grate is a fairly massive piece of cast iron, and the preheat does get it up to temperature so you can get grill marks/sear, but it can't retain that heat very long because again, air isn't an efficient medium to transfer heat from the air fryer heating element into the grate to keep it hot. So if I ran it on high (500F) like the manual recommends, I would get a crunchy, charred shell around a rare steak; the solution was to reduce temps as far as low (400F), depending on the steak, but the results were never as good as with thinner cuts. This new unit does not suffer that problem because the grate itself is heated from below, and I can now cook everything at higher temps across the board because they cook so much faster, even for really thick cuts or when using marinades that would have burned on the old model. Clean up is similar to the previous model, but you have one less piece to throw in the dishwasher - the heated grill grate replaces a roasting pan and a separate grate that sits inside it. The only issue I have with this new design is that the aluminum grate is not coated in any way on the bottom, leaving an exposed aluminum surface; anyone who has ever put a raw aluminum pan in the dishwasher knows that it will come out with a grey/black oxide layer on the surface, which is not toxic or harmful in any way, but is annoying because it gets on everything it touches. I just hold the grate by the edges, avoiding the bottom surface, and only ever handle it to transfer between the grill and the dishwasher that resides directly below it. Once installed in the base, that surface is not exposed in any way so nothing will come in contact with it. Honestly, small price to pay for how well this device works. Very happy with this new model, and I have retired the old one, which served me well. These are the class of the field when it comes to an indoor grill, and they are great air fryers too. I don't really use griddles so I can't comment on that part, but it is a pretty slick feature on top of everything else this thing can do. ... show more
