I'm not talking about EVs or hybrids. I'm talking about normal gasoline engine automobiles, typically stupidly expensive ones from manufacturers like BMW or Porsche. Some of them have LiFePO4 batteries instead of lead acid batteries. Advantages are much longer service life, zero maintenance, higher current capacity, and 10 times the number of charging cycles. Disadvantages are high cost and requirements for very specific control systems, which includes any type of external charger. Traditional lead acid battery chargers are incompatible and will damage the lithium battery and/or the electronic control circuits for the battery. Modern cars have a significant current drain on the battery even when locked up safely in the garage. If you have a lithium battery in your car and it only gets driven a few times a month, you need this lithium specific battery maintaining charger from CTEK. I've been using this model for my car for 7 years, and the lithium battery is still in perfect condition, and likely will be for the indefinite future. ... show more

I rarely drive my exotic vehicle and battery drain has been an issue so I'm stoked I found this product.
