The SSD is smaller and lighter than I expected, and I love it! I also purchased the Crucial band USB-C to USB-A adapter, which is a bit pricey, but it matches the design of the cable that came with the SSD, so I'm happy!

This product is a 2 TB solid-state drive with a USB-C connector. A USB-C to USB-C cord is provided. The size of the product is slightly larger than a pack of wooden matches. See the attached three photos with a pop can as a size reference. The drive comes with four web links for acronis backup software, mylio photo organizer, the X9 support website, and some icons. I have never had good luck with acronis back up software and do not recommend it, particularly now that they are using a subscription model and forcing users to pay every year. But that is unrelated to this product. This SSD connected to my HP Windows 7 laptop without any issues. I chose the HP Windows 7 laptop purposely because sometimes with flash drives the laptop crashes. With the Crucial SSD, there were no issues and the drive mounted flawlessly several times during my tests. I copied 1.25 GB of photos to the drive in two minutes. Average speed was 10 MB per second. It is likely speed will be faster using a faster laptop, though this one has four i7 processors and reasonable speed. What I really like about this product is this manufactured by Micron. Micron is an American company that has been in the microprocessor business for decades. This product is not made in China; it is made in Thailand. I trust Micron to build a reliable SSD, and equally important, I trust Micron not to spy on my computer. If you are wondering what I am talking about, read the user agreement from some SSDs and data sticks manufactured by mainland China companies. You will likely be stunned by the permissions you are granting them. In summary, this product has everything I would wish in an SSD: compact size, large capacity, reliability, and ruggedness with American integrity.     • Would not recommend for large bitrate files

For small files, like music or phone video, probably fine. The 1GB/s speeds write/read SHOULD be enough for 6k50p ProRes 422, but it is not. Speed tests drop from over 1GB/s write to under 200MB/s which is hard drive speeds (using the cable it comes with.) Tested on an M1 Max Macbook Pro under exfat, not sure if that's why, but I doubt it. Like I said, perfect for music and even movies, but probably not the best for client work. That said, it is possible I (and some others) got a bad batch, as most reviews are fairly positive. A Samsung T5 is more stable, but good luck finding those lol. Might try a T7 next time. ... show more
