I was extremely impressed with the packaging of this recumbent bike. As you can see in the picture I attached, everything is padded and packed tightly in the box. The instruction manual has a link to an installation video, but the video doesn't include installing the arms. That wasn't a huge deal because the instruction manual describes in detail how to install each section if the bike. The screws, bolts and nuts are all nicely labeled in a package with all the tools needed to put the bike together. It's not hard to assemble, just take your time and follow each step in the manual. I assembled it myself with the help of my teenage granddaughter. As for the operation of the bike...it's AWESOME! Very, very quiet. I sold my treadmill to buy this bike and I'm very pleased with my decision. I feel like I get a much better overall body workout with the bike than I did with the treadmill. The pedals move in a rotation similar to riding a bicycle and the arms move in an up/down movement. There are a couple different ways to setup the arms with each method working different muscles... The arm movement is always up/down no matter which arm position you use. I'm trying to make sure I explain the arm movements enough so you don't think the arm movement is in a pedaling like rotation. I'm pleased with how the arms move on this bike. If you're looking for a recumbent bike I highly recommend this one! ... show more

I took away a star because this was annoying to assemble. I put this together by myself and it took about 6 hours (30 minutes just to get it out of the box and into individual pieces! It comes wrapped in plastic and styrofoam). You have to get into some pretty uncomfortable tight places and if you don’t have your own tools, you may have trouble. We’ve only used it a handful of times, but it seems to work well. I like adding the arms to elevate the workout. It’s a basic piece of equipment with no thrills other than checking your pulse, but that is exactly what I was looking for. Looking forward to many hours of use. ... show more

It took forever just to get the exercise bike out of the packaging. Way too much cardboard, styrofoam and tape! I'm still putting it together after a couple of weeks because the bolts do not go through the holes and the tools are hard to use because there is not enough space to get them in where the bolts go. I got so frustrated I would quit working on it! If I ever buy an exercise bike again, I will go to a local store and get it already assembled. MERACH customer service helped me fix the problem and now I love my exercise bike! ... show more

It's a good bike, except there are no straps on the foot pedals or at least something to hold your foot on the pedal while riding. My husband is recovering from a stroke, and his foot slips off the pedal.
