  • Very fast speed drive reliable brand and worth the money
I recently purchased the Crucial P5 Plus 1TB , and I am thoroughly impressed! This SSD has significantly boosted my gaming and overall system performance. The installation was straightforward, and it fits perfectly in my setup. What I appreciate most is its reliability. I've experienced zero issues since installing it, and the load times for games and applications are lightning-fast. For the performance and quality you get, the Crucial P5 Plus is worth every penny. I highly recommend this one! ... show more

  • Great value with cache
This NVMe was a great upgrade from my previous gen3 NVMe. Files moved quicker and I was no longer limited by my drive speed when downloading games.

  • Works great in a 2019 21.5" Apple iMac with a separate NVMe to PCIe adapter.
PCIe SSD's are seemingly going up in price and becoming less and less available as a viable Apple replacement (formatting issues on certain PCIe SSD's). I always trust Crucial as they're owned by Micron - a company Apple sources for OEM parts, but even Crucial isn't making a PCIe SSD for Apple anymore. I had to turn to NVMe. This very drive is an NVMe drive, and doesn't fit into the the iMac's PCIe slot without some adapting. So I picked up a PCIe to NVMe adapter right here on Amazon (https://amzn.to/42bTOcs) in black to match my main logic board's (MLB) color. Using the adapter, the Crucial P5 went right in and was able to screw down to the MLB's screw hole in order to secure it in place. After some iMac reassembly, I was able to boot my Mac into recovery mode (⌘ + R) and format it under the GUID partition map using APFS through Disk Utility. I'm now running macOS Ventura, typing this review on the very machine upgraded. Note: If you're going to go through the hassle of upgrading the SSD, you might as well upgrade the RAM while you're in there. It's not a job for the average novice and you want to be prepared with all the necessary parts before getting started. • Easy install, correct size, seems to match specs close enough
Crucial P5 Plus 1TB PCIe Gen4 3D NAND NVMe M.2 Gaming SSD, up to 6600MB/s - CT1000P5PSSD8 Solid State Drive. I used this in my new ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2023) laptop to add a second drive for Linux. The SSD did come with a screw, however the laptop had one already in the post. The tiny SSD screw was in a separate compartment in the clamshell, and unless you were looking for it, it would be easy to lose. Can not understand why some folks had an issue installing this device, removed the screw from the post, looked at the cutout on the connector, looked at the socket for the nub, matched the two, inserted per instructions, placed the screw in, and off I went. Almost a no brainer. Downloaded the Crucial app and verified my original Micron and the new Crucial SSDs. Linux read test was close to 6100 MB/s (not 6600, but then few things ever meet the ideal max/min in real life use), unable to do a write test at this time. As always, it is hard to really tell how good this is until a year or more goes by (infant mortality for those engineers reading this) but it seems to be all that it was advertised to be. ... show more

  • Great speed but a bit hot
The media could not be loaded. The speed is very fast.I tried transferring data from the old ssd to the new ssd without the heatsink attached. Its temperature gradually increases up to 70 degrees Celsius. I removed the old radiator attached to it and it dropped to 53 degrees Celsius. When I copy data from the old drive to the new drive, the maximum speed is 344mb/s. And I copied it back and the old drive had a maximum speed of 360 mb/s. I don't understand why it's a little slower than the old drive. One special thing is that it only has two large horizontal memory chips and one smaller vertical chip.I checked the old data drive and it had 8 memory chips. As far as I know, the more memory chips, the bandwidth increases many times.Next time I choose an SSD I will pay more attention to this.Maybe this is why it is cheaper than other brands. ... show more

  • Excellent SSD
I purchased a new laptop which came with only 512GB...I needed a bit more so purchased this. I was able to replace the original SSD with this one, installed the new OS and never looked back. Has excellent speed and the capacity is as advertised. I have always been happy with my purchase of Crucial memory products...this is no exception. ... show more
