My apartment is a big, open floored unit, and there is only one ity bity electric cooler clear in the living room. The summers where I live are unbearably hot, and I also just had a baby so all the hormones have made me run a little hot anyway. I had 2 fans going full blast 24/7 in my room and it was still very uncomfortably hot. So I got this cooler to fix the problem. It didn't really cool my regular sized bedroom like I thought it would. I was expecting (and wanted) a freezer cool room, instead it only lowered to temp a few degrees. I did everything right, used a ton of ice and ice packs, tried different settings, cracked a window, but even with the fans AND cooler on full blast, my room was still really hot. I admit it was better than when I wasn't using any kind of cooler, but not what I had imagined. At all. I was also disappointed that the place where you put the ice in ISN'T a pull out tray, so filling with ice was kind of time consuming, and if you don't fill it with ice it doesn't cool off the room at all. It has wheels, so it was pretty easy to transport from kitchen sink to my bedroom, but I had to lift it to get it over the rugs. I do like that it doubles as a humidifier and has an Anon setting (cleaner air blows out) which is cool, everyone likes cleaner air. It also stays full all day and well into the night, and comes with a remote so no need to get up. When I started writing this review I gave the cooler 1 star but as I've been writing I'm being reminded of all the features I like, so I changed it to 3 stars. I just assumed a little over 100$ would be able to buy a unit that could cool a regular sized bedroom, but I guess the best ones are a little more expensive. ... show more

I bought this because my family just moved to Arizona last September and the last bits of summer made us miserable. I got this because after the winter the temperatures keep climbing and I dread what the heat will be, especially as we try to save money by keeping the the thermostat just under 90. I moved from Salem, OR where that was high temperature! So what you need to know about this unit. It works, sort of. It will cool immediate area in front of it but not your whole room. It will make your room feel muggy like you live in Florida if you leave it on all night. At least that has been my experience. I seem to have the highest concentration of heat in the house. The directions for this machine are crap, but basically once the wheels are one you freeze two blue blocks of plastic with water in them and put one of them frozen in the compartment on top of the machine. Water runs past this block to help cool the water. On this left site of the machine is a panel flap that open like a mail or laundry chute. This is where you pour the water in. Buy a drink pitcher to narrow the out put unless you like getting a lot of water on the floor. I have found that a better way to make the cooler work is take that drink pitcher and put lots of ice in the bottom. Then pour the water to use over it as the pitcher fills the ice melts and turns the water cold. This helps the cooler create a nice frigid breeze for a while much quicker than the blue frozen block alone. Than fan and oscillation works pretty well on its on. Empty of water its light and easy to move. But again, it will not cool you whole room just the area in front of it. If you want a cool breeze for a whole room maybe get a tower fan. ... show more

I needed a fan for my room and this does the job just fine. It's strong and using water makes it even cooler. The fan was designed to be on the floor with the wheels attached. You can place it on a flat surface like I showed in my provided images, but the bottom of the unit has a small chunk jutting out which is used to drain the water through. Because of that, placing it on a flat surface won't make the unit stand up evenly, which can also interfere with the fan detecting how much water is in the tank. Speaking of the water, the fan will make high pitch beeps if the water level is low and will not stop beeping unless you turn off cool mode. This can easily wake you up if you plan to use cool mode while you sleep, so be sure to have a full tank before bedtime! If you want to access the water tank itself to clean, you have to unscrew all the screw in the back to remove the wetting pad and the filter and that's a major pain. You don't need water inside unless you need extra cooling and/or the air is dry. The manual itself looks like it went through a horribly botched Google Translate as well as tiny images of the figures, making the whole manual useless. It doesn't even explain most of the functions, leaving you to figure it out yourself. The Anion feature is never explained, so I had to look it up. The anion feature apparently releases negatively charged ion particles in the air to cut down on dust, allergens, and odors. Basically, it cleans the air. Lastly, the product images shows that it's white, but mine looked like a salmon color as if it had sat outside. Overall, it's a pretty good fan. It won't cool your entire room since it's mainly used for personal space like next to your bed or when you're sitting at the computer. ... show more
