  • A Stellar Piece Of Machinery
Style: 4,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump
I’ve had the ‘Midea 4,500 Sq. Ft. Energy Star Certified Dehumidifier With Pump’ working in my house since I purchased and received it three months ago! It has saved me tons in energy costs. I live in a humid environment, northwest North Carolina. Summers are very hot and muggy. My air conditioner has always had to work harder to cool the air in my house because the air was so full of water. My HVAC system is designed to cool air, not water. This machine takes gallons of water out of the air in my small house each day, making it much easier for my HVAC to cool. I was having to keep my thermostat on 68 or 69 to keep it. Cool enough for comfort And the system was running constantly. Once I began to use this dehumidifier, I was able to increase my thermostat 7° to 75°! I’m actually more comfortable than I was when my thermostat had to be lower. I have the hose from my. Midea running inconspicuously to my dish strainer. The pump does not spew the water as I was afraid it would, but slowly pumps it, so there is no splash, and the water taken from the air simply pours into the sink from the drainer. Everyone who visits me talks about how great it feels in my house; how comfortable it is, and how well they can breathe. I wish that I had bought this many years ago, but I am so thankful that I have it now! I’ve waited three months to tender this review, so I would know what I was talking about. This is a fantastic purchase that I highly recommend to anyone in a humid environment Wanting to increase the efficiency of their HVAC, or for folks with ailments like COPD for whom lower humidity levels may be beneficial. ... show more

  • Outstanding unit
Style: 4,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump
I held off as long as I could before buying a dehumidifier, as my garage has no ventilation in it at all, as most don't. So in the summer, when I pull my car in wet, from a summer rain, it starts molding in there in no time flat. This unit 50 pint unit took my two car garage from 73% humidity, to about 44% in a few hours! 50 pints is the max water it can pull out per 24 hours, not the bucket capacity. That is like 1.6 gal. I bought the unit with the pump which can pump the water from the bucket, uphill. The small hose it came with is about 10-12" feet. It also has the ability to just use a garden hose to drain the water as it pulls it from the air, bypassing the bucket. I haven't tried either feature yet, as emptying the bucket once a day is not a hassle. Just take care, as it has to slide back in carefully, moving a few plastic levers that you don't want to break. Just be gentle and take your time, it slides back in fine with slight wiggling. The unit is super quiet too. I don't know why I waited so long to get one now. Oh, be sure to run it for 24 hours continuously when you first get it per the directions. A break in I guess for the compressor and fluids. You'll have to stop it to empty it every few hours, depending on how much humidity you have, of course, But just let it do it's thing after each bucket emptying. ... show more

  • It works really well
Style: 3,000 Sq. Ft.
This dehumidifer works really well, fantastic for the price. If it lasts a long time, 10/10. I have used it daily for a month so far. I have an 850 sq ft apartment that likes to sit at 65% humidity, and when I have this dehumidifier blowing into my central ac intake (to distribute the dry air) it goes down to 50% in an hour or two, on "turbo" mode. It stays at 50% when turbo is turned off. If the unit is turned off, my apartment goes back to 60% within two hours, so I am impressed with the performance. I bought the 3000 sq ft size. The humidity reading jumps around, but seems accurate, as it consistently matches what my other humidity sensor says. The only gripes I have are minor, namely that the bucket capacity isn't very large, I empty it every other day, and that it never really shuts off. My situation is special, as I definitely have a serious draft bringing in wet air or something, but even when the humidity is at 48%, it stays on and only shuts off for a minute or so. I think this is because the humidity reading jumps up and down. It thinks its 52% humidity for a second and turns itself on for a couple minutes. The way to mitigate this is with the auto off timer on the unit, which I have not used yet. ... show more

  • Breath of Fresh Air - Midea Dehumidifier
Style: 3,000 Sq. Ft.
As a homeowner living in a particularly humid region, managing the moisture levels in my home has always been a challenge. After much research, I opted for the Midea 3,000 Sq ft. Energy Star Certified Dehumidifier with a reusable air filter, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The first thing that struck me about this dehumidifier was its sleek, white design. It's modern and unobtrusive, fitting perfectly into my home decor. Despite its compact appearance, it packs quite a punch when it comes to performance. The Midea dehumidifier effortlessly covers medium to large-sized rooms, making it perfect for my open-plan living area and even my spacious master bathroom. It has significantly improved the air quality in my home, eliminating that heavy, damp feeling that comes with high humidity. I was particularly impressed by its energy efficiency. The Energy Star certification is not just a label; this device noticeably consumes less power compared to other models I've used before, which is a huge plus for my utility bills. The reusable air filter is another great feature. It's easy to remove, clean, and replace, which makes maintenance a breeze. I also appreciate the environmental aspect of having a reusable filter instead of disposable ones. In terms of noise level, it's surprisingly quiet. Even when running at full capacity, the sound is unobtrusive, more like a gentle hum in the background. This means I can leave it on overnight without it disturbing our sleep. In conclusion, the Midea 3,000 Sq ft. Energy Star Certified Dehumidifier is an excellent investment for anyone looking to improve their indoor air quality. It's efficient, effective, and environmentally friendly. It has made a noticeable difference in the comfort of my home, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to others facing similar humidity issues. ... show more
