  • Works great, but a little slow
Works perfectly in every way, but sometimes, it seems to take longer than I would expect to transfer data over.

  • Why even consider the rest, when youhave the BEST!
When it comes to my 'Portable Office' I don't mess around. I have been utilizing Corsairs Flashdrives 'EXCLUSIVELY' for many, many years now... and disappointment or failure is ZERO part of this brand. It all started with me many, many years ago when my sister, a College Professor, called to tell me that her computer had crashed. I recommended a couple of Professional Recovery Specialist because her E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G was on her hard drive. It was an expensive proposition but it HAD to be done. Because I myself, am a published writer, and I have invaluable original works that can NEVER be reproduced in its original form, I began researching external storage devices. I can remember when a 512MB Flashdrive cost $500!!! Of course I passed at that initial time, but this was now much later when I began searching and researching for something of superior quality to store and transport my created works. It was then that I came across the detailed research articles referencing Corsair Survivor Flashdrives. They were a little costly then, but I'm a firm believer in ' you get what you pay for', so with a then, 10 Year Product Warranty, as an integral part of the initial offering, I decided to invest for the protection of my life’s investment. After all, logic dictated to me, what company would guarantee a product warranty that length of time if it was doomed to fail within a few years. From there... I've never looked back! I still have and use that original flashdrive as well as continue to purchase new ones from time to time for backup. I NEVER, EVER store anything on my hard drive... NEVER!!! I teach and upgrade the computer skills of many of our country's veterans for U.S. Vets and I mandate to all of them to purchase ONLY Corsair Survivor Flashdrives from the inception or they fail my class. And, I absolutely love their pricing now which is highly competitive with other brands out there, but why would one pay an equitable price for an inferior product? ... show more

  • Good storage but not unbreakable
This usb storage device is not all its cut out to be. Supposed to be “unbreakable” but underneath all the aluminum it has a plastic piece that attaches it to the capsule itself. This causes the USB capsule to be a lot more fragile than the marketing says it is..so now I just have a usb stick and a supposedly “unbreakable” capsule.. separated from each other..thanks Corsair really nailed it with this one. ... show more

  • Poor Construction
Loved the idea of the protection on this USD Drive since it is on my keychain. I wanted something with maximum ruggedized protection and this one was the best I could find...or so I thought. It has been on my keychain every day for about 3 months (bought in June) but I only used it about 5 times for a total of about 5 minutes of use. I went to unplug it from the computer but gently pulling on its keychain ring and the lid pulled right off of the USB stick. I tried reinserting the lid portion but it will not re-seat itself properly. It appears a tiny piece of plastic that holds the two pieces together has broken off. As you can see in my picture, that back piece is NOT supposed to separate from the USB stick. ... show more

  • Sharp edges on cap
The opening on the screw top for a keyring or lanyard has sharp edges, indicated with the arrow. One must be careful not to grasp the device in this area when removing the top as it is sharp enough to cut. Not sure about your office, but blood is frowned upon where I work.

  • File too large error
Great drive, solid construction with an air-tight seal, also has a blinking status light. I purchased the 32GB version and I have about 30gb of free space on a fresh format. These variations are to be expected, but the majority of the advertised size is definitely there. Note for buyers, if you are getting the "file too large" error you need to format the drive to the NTFS file system. The default FAT32 file system only supports files up to 4GB in size. You should backup your data before doing this! Go to "My Computer" and right click on the Corsair thumb drive. From this menu you should select "Format", and from the format window change the file system to NTFS. Now you simply press start and your USB should format to an NTFS file system. From here you can copy your backed up files back to the drive, and you can put whatever files that were previously too large on the drive now. ... show more

  • Wrex's Review: Amazing
This product was amazing. The shell of the flash drive is high quality aircraft aluminum which offers a lot of protection , and the rubber coverings over the ends make it easy to untwist and get to your flash drive. However the best part about this product is it's ability to be waterproof since the sealed twistable capsule wasn't enough there is also a waterproof seal on the interior of the case. This product is like the tank of flash drives and it uses USB 3.0 technology so it's as fast as you can get . I highly recommend this to anyone from someone who is paranoid about losing their data or just even having a flash drive to save schoolwork on. Either way it's the best I've used so far. ... show more
