I am a regular pool- liking guy. I seldom do a review, because many things are self-explanatory. Tools like this require a review from regular pool guys to help you decide. i used this Lanchez hand-held pool vac for the first time today. I read the book, charged it and put it to work. I'll admit I was skeptical. But after years of struggling with a hose and skimmer and sucking hundreds of gallons of water from my pool, it was worth a try. It worked beautifully! You have to go SLOWLY, yes, but it really works. My pool is 24 feet, above ground, and it had some algae and a lot of fine "stuff" on the bottom, as well as a few leaves. It did a great job, but you can't be in a hurry. The job took 20-25 minutes. The battery never faltered, but I cleaned the filter once to restore the suction. Fine debris like algae clogs fine filters. Regular debris should be no problem. I followed the good advice of someone to put it in a 5 gal bucket immediately after pulling it from the pool. THEN, take the filter out. NOT IN THE POOL. THIS IS TRUTH, MY POOL FRIENDS. OR, All that debris will go back into the pool. NO big deal if you do it this way. Summary: this is a really good, inexpensive pool vacuum that works well. The book is minimal, but read it. It comes with extra filters, too.

So far it has exceeded my expectations. Saves a lot of time and effort compared to having to drag a hose out to vacuum, and it's rather nice to vacuum the bottom without the pump running also. Never had a issue with the battery life so far.

Not great for a in ground pool. Hard to vacuum around kind of shaky. Worst thing is hard to take out an empty without all the dirt falling out of the net back into the pool. Some people say you should use a bucket but I don't think that should have to be. I think the product could be improved.
