I tossed the brush and use the pole and net daily. net is good for small articles like sand or bug wings on the surface.

Just grabbed this set as a spare so I would have an extra cleaning option if the tools the pool guys provided broke. They're not super high quality, but they're not terrible either. They will do the job and as long as you're not using them to pole-vault they should work pretty well. I do like that the included pole is a bit smaller, but that's because I already have a telescopic handle. If you don't have one you might want to grab a set that does have a longer pole for added reach. ... show more

    • Great dual-use tool for pool maintenance!
My old skimmer-on-a-pole fell apart ages ago, and after having my pool totally redone this summer I decided to do a better job of keeping it up between pool company visits, since I got a ton of debris in it all the time. This tool is great, I was using the skimmer almost daily until the water got too cold for me to tolerate it, and used the brush a few times to do the steps. Bought this for my above ground pool, I wish I read the reviews, the pole is so short you have to jump into the pool to use it.
